The reason that the left can never become aware of this third group [former leftists] is because of their self-inflicted retardation. The information, understanding, and perspective necessary to know that the "former leftists" group even exists in the first place will transform a retarded psychopath into a former leftist.

Very true.

Basically, they ideologues don't think it's possible for someone to stop being a Leftist and move right without becoming a class/race traitor who's only doing it for money. It's part of their narrative.

Well, a large part of it is that when we actually attempted to advertise our existence, the media ran a massive smear campaign to conflate "alt-right" with actual Nazis.

Knowledge is being.

That's one of those profusidties that's kinda "eh" when you first hear it. "Sometimes sure, that's an interesting way to look at things"

And then one day it slaps you so hard you have to drool for a few minutes before your brain chemistry catches up.

God meant it when he said "My name is I AM"

Are you ideologically opposed to the methods and structures the left is using, or just their targets?

You aren't on the right if you're a collectivist. That's not how the right and left work.

Some yes, others no.

If we take the right to approximately represent the politics of tradition, then collectivism is right at home in it. Get in the phalanx or get skewered alone on the battlefield.

If we take the right to approximately represent the politics of tradition

If we describe electricity as mud we can power our homes with wet dirt too right? No, that's fucking retarded. Do you have an actual clue what left and right are? Since you don't, I'll explain.

Left vs right is the singular axis of totalitarianism vs anarchism at the extreme ends. Collectivism is low IQ goblin mindset that can't differentiate between individuals and group stereotypes, is left wing. Individualism is right wing. Lumping people into groups based on arbitrary characteristics because you lack the mental capacity to differentiate between individuals is leftist.

What you spouted off is some reddit grade "political compass" bullshit. That is not an actual functional scale to measure politics on. That is propaganda designed for morons.

No, you can't just arbitrarily decide what things mean. Words and phrases have meaning, and right and left are not random nebulous "whatever I want it to be when it's convenient". Go read history. Right wing is explicitly individualist / anti-state. Left wing is collectivist / statist.

I'm a member of the third group, but I wouldn't call myself "former" leftists. I'm still a left-of-center libertarian.

So what am I doing here?

The libertarian left is dead. It was taken over by authoritarian morons and their useful idiots.

Right wing spaces are the only communities which still care about liberty, meritocracy, and self-efficacy.

I'm not that big on traditional values and I don't do the Church&Jesus thing. But I sure as hell prefer it over the absolute clusterfuck the left has become.

I'm a member of the third group, but I wouldn't call myself "former" leftists. I'm still a left-of-center libertarian.

I used to be a pretty hardcore libertarian. It was pretty easy in the 90s and early 2000s. Most of us were anti-war, pro-economic freedom, and "live and let live" socially. To this day, I think the Dobbs abortion decision is perfect. Remove it from the feds, and let the people at the state level have a choice.

I've been completely radicalized by leftists who hate me. They hate any devolution of authority from the central government to the people. They hate any kind of "live and let live" philosophy that isn't screaming praise for every perversion and degeneracy out there. They hate any economic freedom as anti-progressive, dogwhistles for fascism, and killing the planet. Leftists hate free speech and view proponents of free speech as nazis. Ironic. And, shockingly, leftists have somehow become the more bloodthirsty and interventionist party.

So, no. I am not a libertarian any more. I am, more than anything else, an anti-leftist.

Either you are serving some ideal external to yourself, or you are serving your own baser interests.

You can call that external ideal God, Jesus, posterity, Humanity, the future, or whatever but that is really the binary choice that fundamentally determines a person's character and direction in life.

Children all start out serving themselves because they lack the capability to comprehend that anything could be greater than their immediate whims. If they are lucky they are surrounded by good examples of people who "grew up" to serve the external ideal and thus are able to do the same for themselves. Most people aren't that lucky.

Bingo: The narrative that our "base" instincts are something terrible to be overcome appears to represent the world view where things created by man are superior to natural things, imagining that we ourselves are something outside of, and greater than, the natural world.

And the world view where our "base" instincts are all wonderful and should be pursued at all times is the world view of pure hedonism and savagery. Its the one that hippies, sluts, and niggers live in every day.

Controlling and channeling our instincts is what makes man man and not monkey, and allowed us to create everything great that we are.

now that's a novel concept; finding a compromise between our base instincts and our higher selves. (for the record, I'm not being sarcastic.)

It makes sense on another level, because this country was founded on compromise. The Articles of Confederation were an unqualified failure, so the Continental Congress got to work, hammering out a new agreement, arguing and no doubt nearly coming to blows, but working out a compromise everybody could agree upon, even if reluctantly.

Hell, even the Declaration of Independence was signed when it became clear that the Crown was uninterested in hearing the Colonists out and instead demanded they be crushed under booted heel.

You are still in thrall to your public education indoctrination. The Articles of Confederation were not a failure. In fact, they worked perfectly to prevent federal power from encroaching on state sovereignty. The central power supporters didn't like that so that illegally wiped them out and started over. And I say illegally because the Articles had no provisions for legal dissolution.

It's the difference between our instincts which teach us how to live in the natural world and our ability to adapt to the artificial world which we have created. I'm convinced that "base" instincts get a bad rap largely because people tend to self-destruct if they can't find a way to adapt, but that really puts an onus on us to make sure the world we pursue is as unintrusive as possible, which leads me to have a very huge problem with the way some people are trying to alter every facet of human life through the use of technology.

the world wars really fucked a lotta people up. there was this attitude that through technological advancement, humanity would transcend our frailties, and well...nothing is ever that simple, but a lot of people couldn't accept that, so they swung in the other direction, basically deciding humanity was too sick to survive in its current form (see dadaism in art as an example). we're not on the third or forth generation of people bent on either transforming humanity or wiping it out entirely.

There never has been a "left" libertarian. If you just wanted to legalize drugs and abortions and every other degenerate behavior, without the actual principles of reducing government power and decentralizing it, and minimizing government economic meddling, you weren't then - and aren't now.

The "left leaning libertarians" are just degenerates. Actual libertarianism is exclusively right wing.

Individuals are capable of recognizing the utility and benefit of a moral society without necessarily adhering to what creates it, but society needs that higher power to keep a lot of self absorbed monkeys in check.

As to your anti-theism - there is no useful reason to reject the possibility of a higher power entirely. Certain groups' interpretations of that power yes - but even Jefferson, who swore to oppose all forms of tyranny over the mind of man, did so upon the altar of god.

– Gizortnik 1 point 1 year ago +1 / -0

I don't know where my parent comment went.

That being said, I don't think I disagree with what you said.

I disagree with your assessment on anti-theism. I feel like theism is far too easy of a mechanism to basically remove cognitive load and introspection from people onto an authority/institution that gets to exclusively arbitrate truth and morality.

What the American forms of Protestantism do is allow people to take that onto themselves. It's a kind of workaround where you say that God reveals truth and moral righteousness too you. There's problems with that, but it's a hell of a lot better than offloading that to the church.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– Hellsbells00 1 point 1 year ago +1 / -0

Huh, I can't find it either. Weird. Anyways, theism is only a crutch if you use it that way. And unfortunately large percentages of the population will never rise to the mental level necessary to find morality without some kind of cultural force to compel them. The higher understanding of why moral societies are better is lost on many - look at how many people twist nietzche into justification for pointless hedonism and self-absorbed existentialism.

You identify american protestantism as better than the catholic organization, but both are theistic. You're right, but both are works of man. The organizations that form around religions are not the question of the existence of a higher power. On that subject, the protestants and the catholics are essentially an example of right vs left again - the protestants are decentralized and individually weak, while the catholic church is a leftist organization that has essentially become an extranational globalist government wearing the guise of religion.

American protestantism sits better with you probably because it fits the ideology of the right better - limited power that is easily fixed or ignored when corrupted. Whereas the catholic church is a massive corrupt institution that is essentially unfixable, like any large leftist government.

I don't disagree with any of this, I would just say that I think humans are capable of rising to that point, but our institutions seem to be aggressively dumbing people down.

I'm no preacher, so I'm not going to type a book to try to explain how to find god on the other side of the bell curve. I will say that confusing a distaste for organized religion with something like anti-theism, and rejecting the existence of any higher powers is shortsighted. With regards to christianity, it's the human part of the system that is the problem, not Christ.

Spend more time in nature and you may start seeing the hand of god.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– Gizortnik 1 point 1 year ago +1 / -0

Well, I think my experience shows the opposite. The existence of a higher power is not natural, and is effectively something that only exists within the human mind as a literary device. Organized religion is just an attempt to continue that abstraction through time, but it is inevitably corrupted. No cultural institution is a final arbiter of truth or morality, and the fact that American Protestantism off-loads most of that onto "God", means it's out of human hands. That's where it's really the only exception to other religions. God not existing is why Protestantism works. You stop letting humans try to manage God through an institution.

But, once you realize you're just offloading it, you realize that some responsibility needs to be taken, which is why it has to be personally taken. But there's only one logical outcome to this: full, personal, responsibility. God simply becomes an irrelevancy once you realize you're the one that needs to make the appropriate decisions and suffer whatever consequences inevitably result.

He has some of his proportions wrong.

The "actual psychopath" portion of the left is much larger considering a good percentage of women qualify in that they would hurt you for their amusement if they knew they wouldn't face consequences for doing it. Then there are the "intellectuals" who envision themselves as "thought leaders" post-revolution and are too ideologically delusional to realize they will be gulaged or massgraved second. I would say that makes it closer to 20%.

The corporate conservatives are close to non-existent. They are almost all, in some fashion, attached to and ultimately dependent on the existing system. Either they jumped ship 10-20 years ago when they felt the wind change, or they stuck to their principles so they fall into pink category. I would say the only ones really in the corpo category are zio-cons who know the leftist coalition isn't overtly as good for israel/jewish interests as the center right is. Those are also the ones who direct the energy of their evangelical thralls in the red category.

You could put me in the pink category because because I was a former lolbert who finally said "the emperor has no clothes" on the tranny issue, and everything else fell into place from there.

I think a third qualifier is necessary for retarded psychopaths aside from the retarded gibs and retarded gibs with grievance degrees on the left, there are the midwit/hustler retarded psychopaths, these are the people that think they can con anyone because they normally associate with 85 IQs. These are the people you see flooded on social media trying to be an “influencer”, the guys getting caught up in Ponzi/ pyramid schemes, or trying to “hustle” others. If you spent anywhere near any leftist industry you see these midwits by the thousands. They specialize in being just smart enough to know there’s bullshit afoot but are too dumb to demand anything other than creature comforts for supporting it. Only fans girls/ Hollywood are a prime example of this demographic.

hoe_math is a mercurial creator.

On one hand, he's probably one of the most based YT creators out there, particularly in the red pill adjacent sphere.

His Twitter is fire and really goes there compared to his relatively safe YT relationship cartoons.

OTOH, he can really come off as whiny and emo when he cryptically talks about his own social life.

He moved out of his wilderness COVID apartment a few months back and has been touring the US looking for a no income tax state to settle down in. He wants access to mountains and to live away from the bugmen, but also wants access to cities for their leftist culture offerings.

He also dated a fan about 6 months back. Some rich, wannabe musician emailed him pitching a relationship and then immediately moved in with him for months. She even appeared in his livestreams for awhile. Then they broke up and she went back to live with her rich parents because he couldn't "provide the life she was accustom to" despite his newfound YT money.

It's Hoe_Math's shctick. He deliberately dumbs-down and cutesifies alot of what he talks about to try and get through to dumb normies.

Apparently it works? To some degree? I think he's bitched about before - the moment he tries to go 'serious' he gets an abnormal amount of push-back and defensive arguing, but playing his graphs up as 'harmless' seems to slip past alot of mental defenses.

I've heard hoe_math talk about how his initial viral YT audience when he came over from Tiktok a year ago was closer to 70/30 male-female, but it quickly settled on 91/9 even before he got really spicy and based in on X in the run-up to the election.

His YT is still more normie-friendly than his Twitter. In cartoon format, he mockly just mocks female nature and implies occasionally that there's an upcoming societal collapse.

I think that's why Trump's indominable spirit is catching on.

A lot of what this person calls "I don't want to be around psychopaths" have realized that they are in fact elbow deep in them, and wanted out.

They realized that the guy they were being programmed to hate just wants to see a country return to it's former power and understand that it will be better for all of us in some small way.

And a small amount of hope was better than a bag of nope.
