Basically, they ideologues don't think it's possible for someone to stop being a Leftist and move right without becoming a class/race traitor who's only doing it for money. It's part of their narrative.
Well, a large part of it is that when we actually attempted to advertise our existence, the media ran a massive smear campaign to conflate "alt-right" with actual Nazis.

No, you can't just arbitrarily decide what things mean. Words and phrases have meaning, and right and left are not random nebulous "whatever I want it to be when it's convenient". Go read history. Right wing is explicitly individualist / anti-state. Left wing is collectivist / statist.
