New Yorkers are sadly stuck in the insane mentality that New York is actually a decent city. You could maybe make that argument 20 years ago, but New England and the west coast in general has decayed so rapidly that all the sane people have left to find suburbs, rural areas, or cities in red states/counties. Even the Giuliani New Yorkers are pining for a time everyone was treated like children because the lowest common denominator made it impossible to have civility otherwise.
You couldn't make that argument fifty years ago. New York has been a shit hole for a long time, and what's worse is they're proud of it.
There was a brief, five year period when Giulianni ruled the city. In between the thirty year long black crimewave and the present era of not prosecuting anything.
Yeah, outside of a few years here and there I'm not sure when it was ever a nice city. In the late 1800s it was a literal shit hole, as just dealing with the horse shit disposal alone was a huge problem. Prior to that you've got all the Irish and Italians causing problems with each other.
Cities just suck really. The only good cities I can really think of are very culturally and racially homogeneous, and have harsh and strict punishments for bullshittery. What would they do to a chimpout in Singapore?

Strange. NYU is turbo-pozzed. I have a younger relative who’s enrolling there next year, and she has major psychiatric issues, a serious vocal fry, thirteen genders and all that shit, and I think that’s pretty typical.

It’s a good question. The girl’s mom (my blood relative) is genuinely very nice and well-intentioned, but to such a pathological degree that she’d never ever try to cut out any of this bullshit. Probably also doesn’t help that the girl’s dad is an extremely wealthy member of god’s chosen people. Again, he’s a nice guy on a personal level, but just by virtue of who he is and where he comes from, I know the girl is running in circles where she’s been brainwashed to buy into all of this shit.
