Genuinely curious, could you explain this? I know all bibles have been translated slightly differently to each other, but are there some bibles much closer to original source texts?
There have been a ton of new translations beyond the King James version mess with the content. Yes, it's not easy to read, but modernization of the text seemed to change up words and drop others completely. Most (not all) of the new translations are from the 20th century and onwards. Wikipedia itself has a giant grid showing around 100 alternative translations. Why? Consensus cracking from even before COINTELPRO.

Not going to claim that's the only authority, and I'm by no means some expert, but it's interesting seeing it organized in such a way (and bookmarkable) along with the actual examples from a subset of mis-translations.
For one example, the classic line "The meek shall inherit the Earth."
Turns out the greek word used (all the oldest bibles are written in greek) is closer to "disciplined", "resolute," or "unwavering." Not what we would call meek.

Seriously. A lot of people want to bash Muslims. I don't really give a shit. Bash terrorists, absolutely. But a big reason why many Muslims hate us is...well, it's the same reason we hate our own government, actually. The West is degenerate. Why wouldn't the Muslims hate us?
If we had better foreign policy, we could get along with those people. To be clear, that's not saying I want to import them over here. I don't want that. But I do believe we could reach some common ground if we wanted to; where we're not destroying their lands, and they're not destroying ours. I'm fine with that compromise.
I think we have a better chance of making it work with "you stay over there and I'll leave you be" with the Muslims than ever having a relationship with Israel that isn't all give and no return.
Theirs is a religion and culture that respects strength somewhat, Muhammad was a warlord more than anything after all. We can work with that more than we can work with a group that respects nothing and demands servitude and compliance at all times.
There's no particular reason we can't begin having better diplomatic relations with the Muslim world. Zionists will kvetch about that, but we already do shit with the Muslim world already, including Saudi Arabia, origin of the most 9/11 terrorists and sponsor of other Wahabi terrorists. At the risk of once again being controversial...I've said it before, I'll say it again. I want peace, communication, and cooperation among all people.
As an American, I want my own government to put my own people first. America first. No question. But I also want the best for everyone, including our rivals. I want the best for the Chinese, for the Russians, for the North Koreans, for the Iranians. They don't have to be our enemies or rivals, and a good chunk of why they are is because the USA has been behaving rather badly on the world stage.
I'm all in favor of normalizing relations with all these countries. The whole idea of nationalism is shrinking things back to each country's own borders. I want the United States to be for us, the Americans. I want Iran to be for Iranians. Russia for Russians. And so on.
