Jesus is a prophet to the Muslims. They misunderstand who he is, but they do consider him important. So them defending Jesus isn't necessarily a weird thing
The weird thing is that they are defending Jesus more fervently than many Christians.
The purpose of deliberately mistranslated versions of The Bible suddenly become clear.
Genuinely curious, could you explain this? I know all bibles have been translated slightly differently to each other, but are there some bibles much closer to original source texts?
There have been a ton of new translations beyond the King James version mess with the content. Yes, it's not easy to read, but modernization of the text seemed to change up words and drop others completely. Most (not all) of the new translations are from the 20th century and onwards. Wikipedia itself has a giant grid showing around 100 alternative translations. Why? Consensus cracking from even before COINTELPRO.
This page that feels right at home in the internet of 1994 has some selected quotes if you want to see how your favorites turn out.
Not going to claim that's the only authority, and I'm by no means some expert, but it's interesting seeing it organized in such a way (and bookmarkable) along with the actual examples from a subset of mis-translations.
For one example, the classic line "The meek shall inherit the Earth."
Turns out the greek word used (all the oldest bibles are written in greek) is closer to "disciplined", "resolute," or "unwavering." Not what we would call meek.
Christians got word-cucked.
Yeah. I got nothing.
It's
funnysad because it's true.Christians are wimps. Muslims defend their religion all the time.
I think Ned Flanders did more damage to Christianity than anything else imaginable.
Simpsons in general was incredibly subversive. It's wild to go back and see the degenerate seeds they planted.
The third Abrahamic religion who considers Jesus a liar boiling in pig shit doesn't want the other two to realize they have more in common with each other than the "Chosen Ones" because then they might work together to kill the parasite.
Are we doing this?
I'm on board. Somewhat reluctantly, but I'm onboard.
Seriously. A lot of people want to bash Muslims. I don't really give a shit. Bash terrorists, absolutely. But a big reason why many Muslims hate us is...well, it's the same reason we hate our own government, actually. The West is degenerate. Why wouldn't the Muslims hate us?
If we had better foreign policy, we could get along with those people. To be clear, that's not saying I want to import them over here. I don't want that. But I do believe we could reach some common ground if we wanted to; where we're not destroying their lands, and they're not destroying ours. I'm fine with that compromise.
I think we have a better chance of making it work with "you stay over there and I'll leave you be" with the Muslims than ever having a relationship with Israel that isn't all give and no return.
Theirs is a religion and culture that respects strength somewhat, Muhammad was a warlord more than anything after all. We can work with that more than we can work with a group that respects nothing and demands servitude and compliance at all times.
There's no particular reason we can't begin having better diplomatic relations with the Muslim world. Zionists will kvetch about that, but we already do shit with the Muslim world already, including Saudi Arabia, origin of the most 9/11 terrorists and sponsor of other Wahabi terrorists. We just need to keep the Muslims out of the West, and conduct diplomacy with them with our needs first rather than Israel's.
see this informative image on a decent stance to have about the mohammedans.
however, i personally think that after the larger threat is gone, they remain a smaller one themselves. they'll think the same of us, so it'll be an honorable enough ordeal even if we go back to fighting each other.
I've bitched about the Muslims quite a bit and make fun of them all the time.
I'm also still totally fine with them having their space in the world. I really can't think of a reason I need to go to their lands and push them out. They just need to be gatekept out of mine. I have way more problem with fake "Christians" that bastardize the name of Christianity to support faggotry than I do with the Mohammadites who tend to play their cards out in the open.
I wish more people knew what the quran says about Issa and what the talmud says about Yeshu. Would probably reduce a lot of confusion and suffering in the world
Islam considers Jesus the Jewish messenger of God, but does not considers him divine.
Islam regards Jesus as al-Masih (The Messiah) and expects his second coming to wage war against the Anti Christ, side by side with the Mahdi.
After the war is won, Jesus will reign over the world in peace.
This is standard fare for Abrahamic religions.
But they don't think he is a God. He is not their Messiah
Yes, like early Christians, Muslims do not believe Jesus is God.
There are no passages in the Quran or the New Testament where Jesus refers to himself as God.
Like early Christians, Muslims do believe Jesus is The Messiah.
The Messiah, in both Islam and the Old Testament, is a man, not a divine creature.
