I guess their strategy is take up your entire drive so you can't play anything else if you have it.
Maybe an inadvertent strategy? I thought the main issue is retarded DEI hires that can’t condense files to save their lives
Reminds me of the gta modder who cut loading times by 99%
That was in fact a noted and admitted strategy when these games were primarily console based.
When PC became a major section of their market, they had to boil the frog up because a "harddrive filling" size on a console is a droplet on most PCs. This is probably just them finally reaching a point where even the normies are noticing.
300gb is a lot. I have 4tb but I keep a lot of games installed. Even if I liked call of duty I wouldn't be getting a 300gb slopfest
Also, if you were banned from a previous version of Call of Duty, you're banned in Black Ops 6 as well.
Good. Hopefully that will help drive away any normies stupid enough to think things might be better “this time”.
What a scumbags. lol
I wonder if that's how these series will die, each ban just makes the population smaller and smaller each game.
AAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. And people wonder why I don't play new games anymore.
can we correlate filesize bloat with the rise of die/indian hires?
Always online single player, ADL-trained AI monitoring everything you say and do, 300GB install, degenerate monetization everywhere, all for the privilege of playing the umpteenth cookie cutter sequel to a thoroughly played-out franchise?
I’m sure it’ll sell millions.
I remember when thinking the 1997 Blade Runner game was large for being an entire gigabyte!
When I was a kid my dad made me uninstall Mechwarrior 2 because at ~650 MB it was eating up over half of our 1 GB hard drive.
Hehe I had a similar problem with a full install of Diablo II, it took like 3.5 gigs of my 6.4GB drive. I had to use the full install because me and some friends bought one copy together.
Nothing like going on MyAbandonware and marveling at how small old games really were.
Its been a running gag for years that a picture you can save of Mario or a random Pokemon is a larger file size than the entire game the respective character was pulled from.
At one point I used to carry around a flash drive with the original 1994 X-Com game since it was like 10-15 megabytes in total. I could play it almost anywhere.
Probably could have done the same with Sid Meier's Colonisation from the same year.
How the fuck are they on to a sixth one. I thought this shit franchise was supposed to die years ago.
Hell, I only remember it being at BLOPS 2 or 3, not fucking 5, now 6.
They've been speedrunning the CoD games in the last few years since they jumped to PC, both dropping new ones constantly and then having multiple running concurrently.
Usually a sign that a franchise is dying and they are trying to pump out as much as possible to shore up the lowering income.
I have been assured that the 300 Gb isn't all textures, video and sounds and is the height of coding perfection.
That's why we shouldn't buy games made by Indian, Filipino or other countries which ask for less pay for quicker returns from their developers by the Big Brains who are getting fired in the West and live in San Francisco and Montreal.
Seems that sucking off that girly-cock for prestige reviews really panned out for our latte loving long-term renters.
And now that Jason Schreier writers for Bloomberg I expect we'll see a whole a bunch of outsourcing across other industries to make sure the West keeps down its carbon emissions and free speech.
Please buy every game made by streetshitting third worlders. The sooner one of them bricks your computer the better.
Have your mind melted when you tried to read some UE blueprints or something? You have never been told this, you have been told that the relation between size of textures and video and sounds are not as clear cut as you wish to state. I presume you think the demo scene is the perfection of games, alas they do not produce much games and are more about something else entirely...
I just find it hilarious how one guy wants to buy a really big house and so has a whole bunch of other guys never step foot on the property market and then those guys start wondering why everyone outside their rented flat is homeless.
But we all met up in Vietnam at that conference once and laughed at gamergate during the opening speech (Hanoi July 2016).
Don't worry though, those rice farmers aren't geniuses like the demo scene guys. It's just a holiday with cheap booze. Have you tried the rolled ice-cream from the street vendors?
The original Freespace in 1998 had a customizable HUD, they're only two and a half decades behind.
If you can sprint in any direction it's not a sprint then.
They deserve it.
One Black Ops was one too many.
I'm glad they made it just for the Carl on Duty: Black Cops memes.
The first one (I think?) was pretty fun for the sticks and stones mode. It had one other one that was pretty fun too. But then I was done with CoD after that, so to see it's on blops6 is laughable to me
The real nightmare is that people still buy this dreck
Seems like that fits the theme of it being 9/11 based.
There's a few hundred people on social media who are saying "We're so back, bros." It's possible there may even be a few thousand. Beyond that, though, nobody cares. Activision lied through their teeth about how engagement with Modern Warfare '23 was the highest a Call of Duty game has achieved. Not sales, mind you, and I'd venture to guess they attempted to give a significant number of copies away to boost the number of actual players in their lobbies. It's how I got my copy. I'm done giving money to these freaks, though. Not as long as they hand out faggot banners and weapon skins, allow these things to be displayed in the game, and refuse to put out a product that isn't full of as many bugs as the disgusting degenerates they have working for them.
That's pushing towards my DCS folder. Wasn't buying it, but they can get fucked if the bloat is that bad.
