Honestly, the scary thing is that Ireland kept sending more “normal” or, you might say, “expected” acts, the last few years, and not even making it through to the Final, and then they sent this freak, this year, and the public voted it through to the final…
Trouble is that when that sort of situation happens, countries tend to send similar acts the next couple of years, so… Expect more of this type of vile stuff to come out of Eire, the next few years.
Unfortunately I don’t think RTE gives a shit what the public thinks; they’re more likely to listen to that subreddit I linked than to the general public at large…
You’ll be glad to hear (if you haven’t already) that they didn’t even make the final, lol…
But yeah, SBS is acting as if this is the first time we’ve sent an “Indigenous” performer, despite, by my count, this being the fifth damn time, which is more than half of our total participations…
Oh, but none of those were faggots, “sang” in Abo, or played a didge on stage, which somehow makes this “historic”, apparently…
Insane. Absolute clown world, and, as you say, absolutely not what the country wanted…
A bit like how SBS (along with our telcos) blocks both televoting and SMS voting in this country, which makes it much harder and more tedious for Aussies to vote (it’s online, and you still have to pay), because they fucking hate us, essentially…
There aren’t many other participating countries that hold their own populace in such contempt, compared to SBS (and maybe the BBC + RTE), I feel.
I only need to read the OPs description and see the thumbnail to know not to play this. That is the look of a woman with YEARS of mental if not also physical abuse and the need for a positive male role model.
But they ain't me as if she's that far in the music industry it's too late, I'm going back to listen to Brazilian phonk..
I would say that in a different era, where degeneracy wasn't celebrated as it is, she could've been a relatively normal chick (and indeed, perhaps might have gone somewhere with the ballet career)...
I mean, clearly there is trauma there (I doubt she would do this act without it), but thankfully it seems like a lot of it is staged...
The nonbinary shit is still absurd, but she, in that interview, just comes off like the several other zoomer chicks I've met who claim to be "queer" or "nonbinary" after a traumatic past...
I hope they literally start choosing the bear and we see the wacky consequences on the evening news. "Another deadly bear attack for the 5th month in a row..."
Eurovision died when they banned Wogan for insulting all the hosts and acts. One year he called one of the hosts "Doctor Death". God knows what his reaction to this lot would be - literally, Wogan has been dead for a while now so only God would know that one.
Apart from the trans flag bikini, I think it's fine. A performance about a witch cavorting with a demon isn't that different than Lordi performing as demons, and everyone agrees that was the best Eurovision entry ever. I'd rather have subversive rock and metal entries like those than garbage like I Don't Feel Hate.
A fair, balanced take. Ireland has sent boring generic pop songs for over a decade and did terribly, so they went the other end of the spectrum and for some reason, people like it. It sounds like shite to me, but I tend to enjoy the more cheesy europop.
The last time we sent a protest act (2008), it also did terribly - a turkey puppet who is a national treasure, but failed to resonate with our friends on the continent.
Maybe if she admitted to being a she, and didn’t literally stand there in the trans bikini with a defiled Irish flag with “Crown the Witch” inked on it, I would let it pass…
And sure, it’s all an act (as is very obvious from that interview I linked), but unlike Finland, it’s not even good. It’s fully intended to piss off as many people back home in Ireland as possible (successfully, I might add), but unlike Slovenia, which also did an act/song about a witch, I would call it more just shit, than subversive…
Even the extremely gay Australian Eurovision host thought it went too far, which says a lot.
I think the difference is that Finland has a history with this sort of… “Subversive” subculture, even before Lordi. Ireland does not.
But really I just hate anyone who tries to force those around them to use their bullshit “no -binary” pronouns, so maybe that plays into my dislike more than almost anything else…
Sexually abused as a child by those in power, no father around (or father was the one doing the abuse). Sickening what our society lets people get away with.
It's the official Eurovision channel. So yes to the globohomo bit...
Honestly, if you just search for it by name, there will be a ripped version out there somewhere on a different channel, I'm sure.
However it is genuinely terrible, and just... Ick, so you're not missing much if you choose not to watch it at all.
There's many better previous Irish entries out there. In facet, compared to this one, I would take literally any one of them, including both Jedward and the damn rubber chicken from 30 years ago...
Yeah no worries. Eurovision tends to "officially" upload all of these music videos, and then the live performances, and then they will be ripped later. So if you wait a few days, there will no doubt be rips of her live performance at the semi (which managed to be both terrible and genuinely unsettling) floating around.
Unfortunately she also somehow managed to make the final, so... We'll see what comes out of that performance, I guess.
Now that Ireland succeeded in getting to the grand final and SVT (the Swedish public service broadcaster who is staging the event this year) was highly pushing the transgender angle in Ireland's entry, expect much more of this next year as other countries attempt to out-progressive each other to the final.
Ireland is pushing back hard against the invasion. They probably did this on purpose to demoralize and humiliate.

Did they though? Or is it selection bias as the "voting public" are comprised of people who completely support this kind of "entertainment"?
They chose gay aboriginal shit in aus this yeah.
The state broadcaster did I mean. The public didn't choose that same act years ago when it was a democratic vote.
So now the gay and lame 2nd state broadcaster chooses.
The people don't want this, even eurovision watchers don't want this.
You’ll be glad to hear (if you haven’t already) that they didn’t even make the final, lol…

thankfully the shit act didn't make the cut

I just watched the video to the end, and, uhh, there's a scene there that is definitely suggestive of rape (imo), so... Yeah.
This ain't exactly subtle.
But a tranny did it, so it's STUNNING and BRAVE
All I can see is the mental abuse that her presence brings. That's an actual witch right there. A walking plague.
Going off this interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXjbGVBbrx0

She really did choose the bear there.
Looks and acts exactly like your average bear chooser though, so it's really no surprise.
God I hope "choose the bear" becomes universal slang for Woman Moments.
I mean, its already a great euphemism for women getting what they asked for from the various PoCs they voted to let in.
Toll paid?
I hope they literally start choosing the bear and we see the wacky consequences on the evening news. "Another deadly bear attack for the 5th month in a row..."
Don't worry, they'll still blame men for not protecting them.
"Dear women, I can run faster than you, longer than you, and I'm very likely wearing footwear suitable to actually run in. Have fun with Yogi."
Apparently “their” father is Swedish, so perhaps that makes sense, somewhat…
Honestly, who knows, but most, umm, “mentally well” people do not turn out like this one has…
There has only ever been one video on the official Eurovision channel that is worth anyone's time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ez8m4PXksQs
Edit: Maybe two if we count the original.
Three
The only good song that won this contest in a long time tbqh
One of these links better be Hard Rock Hallelujah!

Of course the degenerate freaks over at the Ireland subreddit love it, and admonish anyone who doesn't. Of course...

I never liked the Lordi song. It's the same eurotrash bland bullshit as always, but sideways.

What the fuck is wrong with Eurovision
Remember when Eurovision was gay for it's bad but catchy music?
Remember when Ireland was known for kicking the shit out of every other country at the competition because they were that fucking good?
I can't say that I do. My brain is all
Ra ra Germany, creating all those memories
If that's not to the song of "Ra-Ra-Rasputin" then I'm not sure what it is 🤔
Edit: Boy that's a lot of interestnig twists.
Jamaican singers
In a German band
Singing an English song
About a Russian guy
With Asian outfits
Filmed in Poland
Yeah, I looked it up to make sure as well. It gets weird fast. I feel like I should yell the Aristocrats at the end of your description
Who's channel is this? I don't want to give a view to some globohomo channel.

I was just thankful the entry from my home state didn't make the cut - they were embarrassing

islam is right about pastels
It needs to be out.

Out on stage, you mean?
Or out of the comp, or..?
It needs to be out
Just. Out.
