Truly a fantastic example of tripping at the finish line.

Also a fantastic reason in the long list of why "mandatory patches" is an undertalked about problem in the gaming industry.

Yup. Even worse yet are the amount of people who seem okay with "mandatory patches".

I can't even count the amount of people I have come across who say, "Yeah, but newer games are better because they can just patch it and fix it, old games you couldn't patch them!"

To those people, I always inform them, "Yes, back in the day if you launched a game broken and unplayable day-one, it usually meant the end of your company because you actually had to release a properly working game on day-one back in the day in order to be successful."

What's sad is, in theory, patches should make things better regardless. You could just not buy games if they released buggy and shit and move on from there, while genuinely good patching (fixing badly tuned things or adding more content) could improve on already good games.

The problem being, you don't get a fucking option. Its one thing for "always online" games or for going online in general, but why does a single player game care if I'm patched to the latest level?

There exists no reason but abusive control like this for removing that choice.

What’s worse, day 1 DLC, or day 1 censorship patching?

I know it's rhetorical, but the censorship by far. No question. Day 1 DLC sucks but at least they didn't remove anything you paid for nor did they falsely advertise what you were buying. They just made aggressive monetization choices which you have to opt-in to.

I'm presuming that Sony simply forced their hand.

Nothing will fundamentally change until a large portion of gamers simply refuses to engage with this business model where you don't own the games you buy.

No more pre-ordering, no matter what, and anybody who pre-orders needs to be bullied mercilessly.

No more buying anything with always online requirements.

No more coercing consumers into accepting patches by restricting access to essential gameplay features.

No more patches without informed consent.

No more games that need patches in the first place.

No more requiring us to check a box agreeing to terms of service, and any bullshit found in the terms of service needs to be broadcasted to the internet.

There are so many amazing games from before the great pozzing, and so many of them continue to be modded. Not to mention indie games.

At this point these woke creeps are essentially defrauding consumers. Heck, wokalizers are also defrauding consumers along the same lines. We buy this stuff with our fucking money and they think they have the right to pull the rug out from under the products we buy like that?

Fuck these grimy sniveling little thieves, who think they're entitled to scam you out of your money if you don't share their retarded opinions. I'm this close to setting up a list of woke employees, so you can narrow down which scamming thieving little bitchasses vandalized your property. Nobody would tolerate a vendor who opens up a brand new product you ordered and scribbles all over it with permanent marker or sands off something they found offensive, if they're gonna all but steal our money like this then the gloves need to come off.

A lot of problems would be solved in the world if corporate crimes were punished by prison time rather than fines or lawsuits that can be shrugged off.

If the punishment is a fine, it's legal for a price.

The corporate death penalty (forced dissolution of the company) is on the books already and should be handed out far more often than it does now, which is almost never.

What is this? Playstation 5’s second unique game to date?

And they went and censored it. It’s like sony don’t want to make money.

So far the big names would be spiderman 2, final fantasy rebirth and stallar blade.

Considering Nikke has an incoming skin that looks straight out of Azur Lane, 1000% Sony put then to it. The statement against the 'Hard' 'R shop' misplacement is from Sony, as well.

Well, at least I won't have to wait for a PC version. Saved money once again.

PC version will get mods that can restore the original skin easily, since the assets still exist in the game.

That's fine. There are other mod sites.

I’m having trouble finding decent ones. Moddb has gone as woke as NM, and there is a “non-woke” alternative that is just impossible to navigate & use easily.

Any recommendations?

I'm assuming that the 2nd one you're referring to is Based Mods? Well, tbh, that was mostly the one I had in mind. I expect that if Stellar Blade ever came out on PC, then it would get its Nexus page for the vast majority of the mods. Some of them that focus on removing censorship will most likely be removed by them. Once that happens, someone will very likely repost them on Based Mods. I agree that navigating it isn't the best, but it's fine for the most part, simply because there are so few mods there to begin with. Basically only the ones that the woke sites won't host.

Other games, like FFXIV, are big enough that people created sites specialized for a single game. I don't expect that Stellar Blade will have that much appeal, but who knows. There are also a lot of modders who have their own patreon pages or their own sites, and there are also a lot of smaller site that can have mods you can find with a Brave search (or whatever search engine you use). But I personally haven't looked too deeply for alternatives, since all the games I play are covered by the options I stated above.

Yes, Based Mods. Utter garbage of a site.

But there’s other sites out there hidden by Google’s woke algorithms? Interesting…

Well, I can attest to being able to find mods for Diablo 2 with a search engine leading me to some forum discussions, where people were linking directly to them.

If your main interest is browsing a large database with a good UI, then sadly, the closest thing to the user friendliness of Nexus Mods that I've found is XIV Mod Archive, for Final Fantasy XIV alone. Otherwise, Nexus really is the best in the industry.

Unless you pirate the game.. if you buy the censored game to use mods to uncensore it.. thats peak cuckery. Its like your girlfriend cheated on you with tyrone and you gonna try to fix her.. lol.

I have no idea what the game is even about. Even if it were to come out on PC, it's unlikely that I would purchase it. But from what I can currently gather, it doesn't seem like the censorship was the decision of the studio. It seems like it was forced by Sony. I would be willing to extent an olive branch for that. It would encourage them to grow. Surely being forced to alter their product by executives left a sour note in the developers' mouths. If they were to branch out from under Sony's wings as a result, then I could only wish them well. But they would need funds to do so.

Besides, restoring the existing game files is an easy fix.

"OOOOOH THEY GOT ME AGAIN!"

I don't get it. It's not like the SJW crowd will suddenly love Stellar Blade. All they did was piss off the people that bought it. Other than the obvious "we got your money, now fuck you" to idiots with goldfish memories.

I assume it's Sony's doing and while sucks at least the dev put out a hot chick in fantasy armor (bikini armor or whatever that style is called) in 2024. I wasn't going to buy it, don't own any modern consoles. Might get it if it ever comes on PC and just mod it.

There are two schools of anti-woke for this game.. "this game must succeed to save the industry" and "this game just got censored, screw them".

Im in the second camp. By buying the game.. it shows sony that they can keep doing this bullshit. Sony playstation needs to die out. They did this crap with ff7 remake.. censoring tifa cowgirl with a small fabric. Sure.. tifa in that scene was like 15, but it was fine for literally 3 years and it wasnt even a skanky outfit.

But.. i bet if tifa or eve was a tranny or gay, they would be in skanky outfits regardless of age and will be celebrated as icons by commies.

If they are going to give in to Sony's demands, they should just go full malicious compliance and slap her in a burka.

Fuck this game and fuck this studio. If they don't have the spine to give their customers what they want, then their customers should stop rewarding the studio with their money.

Reminds me of youtube.. some dude said the N word and youtube used that as an excuse to go after all content they dont like. Usually sexy bikini outfits from video games and anime. Strangely.. videos of real girls trying out nipple covers are still allowed without age restrictions
