Might need another 'detected' Steam group..
I know there is one for "Is it woke" but they don't provide good resources on their decisions. Having one for any kind of consultancy/diversity group might be good.
The great thing about SBI detected is it only lists the games they worked on and nothing else. That forces people to use pattern recognition of every game they worked on is shit and it's indirect enough that Steam can easily say it isn't harassment or anything rule violation.
The problem with having groups like 'is it woke' is you're starting off politically biased so you're less likely to view things as objectively as required to be a successful curator.
How about "DEI" detected. Instead of "SBI detected". Where they list any game that belongs to a company that has "DEI" on their website,
Nah because they change the name frequently, it's no longer DEI that's the concern but bridge.
Tracking a company only is easier as harder to just switch names.
I'd say it's better to go a touch broader with all consulting companies. Literally just name the consultation company, add a link for evidence, and let the user take that as is.
It doesn't invoke that pattern recognition you mentioned earlier as much, but it does promote some level of objectivity through user judgement of each company, while also shining a light on how prevalent these consultation firms are becoming/have become within the industry.
That would be, literally, every single company. Except for small indies who don't have any sort of HR department.

Hmm ... have the og black discs and a PS2 ... so I can legally emulate the only FF7 that matters.
I've still got my PC discs but getting that to run on a modern system seems like it might be a somewhat more demanding undertaking. I hate that I can't rely on any re-release that works on a modern system to be a faithful port of the original game.

Frankly, shouldn't have been touching Revisionism anyway. Still not going to touch this from SE and their misleading over Remake. It was pitched as a remake of the game, not that Remake was the subtitle and that this was an alternate story. For that reason alone it's worthy of avoiding.
Then there's the fact that it's Square Enix. And that it's a modern game at all. And that nothing good can come from new entries riding the coat tails of an old success.
How many signs were needed that this was going to be shit? Did it really take you to get to the consulting agency in the credits of the second game to give that away? Really?

They've been dragging this franchise out and milking it for 2 decades. If Advent Children or Dirge of Cerberus wasn't enough to convince you to drop out of the franchise, then you deserve everything they are abusing you for.

When you pull the camera back far enough, not many. Even the ones who aren't personally scamming are usually helping you with needless regulations that were lobbied for by the same group that charges the consultants to be "certified" in their area. Or by some company that locks their documentation to paying consultants, forcing you to go through them to accomplish basic things. Who do you think goes to an Oracle or Salesforce convention? Why would those even have conventions without that artificially sustained consultant class?
On the other hand, security consultants and that sort can be okay. Situations where you explicitly want to test with an outsider.
The only time consultation isn't a scam is specifically the type of work that cannot be done in-house or through some kind of contractor work. If it can be done either other way, the consultation is 100% a scam, even those with good intentions. Why is it a scam? Because there are better ways of getting that work achieved.
When it's just a another term for private contractor.
Call them what they are: commissars.
They also did work for Sega/Atlus, and had various former members join game companies.

I don't think I'm joking; these companies know what they're doing and they pick brazen branding. The less said about what Sweet Baby were hiding in plain sight with their branding, the better.

The most vocal people in the industry are the most replaceable. Consultants, artists, writers. Notice that the software engineers working on the game engine generally shut the fuck up.

Square enix is retarded for making ff7 time exclusive on ps5. By the time its released on pc, everyone wouldve forgotten about it or content from watching someone else play it. The hype is gone by the time it comes out.
Ff7 remake was ps4/epic time exclusive, while ff7 rebirth is ps5. I guess square enix did one thing right lol. They abandoned epic timed exclusive since.. well people pirated it. So when it did came out on steam like a year later, a lot less sales.
