Then by all means go back to Pakistan. If I went to Pakistan could I crap all over the country’s history?

If by history you mean the street, then yes you can.

I’ll keep that in mind. Honestly the saying “when in Rome do as Roman’s do” needs to be brought back.

The unspoken end of that sentence has always been "or else get the fuck out of Rome."

I’d remove the profanity but it certainly emphasizes the point

>invade foreign territory
>buy 5 million dollar mansion without doing any research into it at all
>immediately try to change it
>start bitching about whitey when you experience the slightest resistance
>get a man unpersoned and removed from history because he, in the CBC's own words, believed in assimilation

These people are a virus. Unfortunately, Canada has no immune system due to the AIDS, so they're not going anywhere until the host dies.

Dr. Arnold Mahesan, a fertility specialist of Sri Lankan descent, and his wife, entrepreneur and former Real Housewives of Toronto actor Roxanne Earle, whose family comes from Pakistan, bought the house in 2022 for $5 million

Holy shit, that's a lot of red flags. I feel terrible for the kids. Rich woke liberal foreigners and likely degenerates. Not to mention...rather unattractive.

Did they come to Canada to get away from the brown hordes? Because I've got bad news for them.

Now they've got to contend with brown hordes in a frozen shithole rather than a tropical one.

deport them and give the home to a CANADIAN family

If a heritage home is going to be destroyed anyways no matter what, might as well give it to the homeless. At least with them there's a chance of some historic significance surviving, even if in ruins, when sanity comes back later.

The couple, who identifies as mixed-race, told the board they only discovered their home was a designated heritage property last year, when they began looking into modifying the house's steep stairway from the sidewalk.

Alright. Not sure why you have to point out mixed race, but it seems reasonable as the stairs could be a bit dangerous.

The couple applied to the board in January to have that designation repealed on the grounds that it was approved by the city in haste in 2018. They say a closer look would have revealed its original owner held views that should have excluded it from preservation. The city doesn't currently have a policy that would bar buildings owned by such individuals from gaining heritage status.

A hasty approval is a bit odd. Why was it done that way? Also, crying "rayciss" seems to be a stupid way to go about it unless you want to establish a "das rayciss, so gibs" precedent.

As for whether the couple is looking to renovate or demolish the house, Earle told CBC Toronto they're not looking to have the designation removed "as a tactic." "I have no plans of developing this house or changing this house," she told CBC Toronto.

The stairs are part of the house. Wanting to modify the stairs is wanting to change the house. Why lie about something like that?

obviously a grift but honestly, understandable. Heritage laws are a huge pain in the ass, and if you don't know that part/all of your house is heritage listed, than you get absolutely ass rammed.

Heritage laws are stupid but if you're wealthy enough to plop $5 million freaking dollars on a house, you're wealthy enough to buy a house that isn't a heritage property.

These people just don't want to admit they're such dipshits that they didn't pay attention when they signed all the paperwork.

Granted I'm not a lawyer let alone a Canadian one, but I would assume delisting heritage status of a property is an even bigger pain in the ass and it won't happen just because the original owner was a meany-pants. Especially if the original owner was a meany-pants because it would set a case for any heritage property to get delisted that way.

Either they're idiots that got roped into buying something cheaper in an even more expensive neighborhood and thought they lucked out. (Like people that wave inspection for discounts)

Or they knew exactly what they were doing and were planning on fighting it from the start.

Why lie about something like that?

Women lie as naturally as they breathe. In her mind she has already modified the stairs and thereby she no longer has any plans to do so from there (also untrue, but she feels like its true right now).

and his wife, entrepreneur and former Real Housewives of Toronto actor Roxanne Earle,

It's "actress" if you're a female, and I hardly think being a rich bitch in a reality show makes you one.

About half of London is heritage something or other, and landowners have wanted to demolish and rebuild for a while now. The biggest practice has been 'tragic fires' but I guess this one will start working as well.

Nothing built of wood or concrete is going to much of a landmark for long. We're not talking about pyramids or catacombs here. Stuff built now isn't made to last, and it certainly isn't designed to be habited for hundreds of years. I think the majority of structures in history were not. Just very important things like Cathedrals should be on lists.

The city receives on average 1,800 to 2,000 applications a year from homeowners who want to alter their heritage properties, city staff told CBC Toronto in an email. "Almost all are approved,"

So what's the issue with changing the dangerous stairs then? Sounds like the work would be approved.

A city staff report to the TPB concluded the home's designation had little to do with its association with Caldecott. Instead, the report says the home is worth preserving because it was designed by prominent Toronto architect Eden Smith and because of the unique structural qualities he brought to the building.

Adam Wynne, a board member and chair of the Toronto and East York Community Preservation Panel, told CBC Toronto his own research shows that Caldecott only lived in the house for a few months before he died in 1907.

So, the heritage designation is not tied to the original owner, who barely lived there anyway. They're full of shit and are looking to modify the house in some way prohibited by the heritage status. The racist bullshit is just a pretext.

In making their allegations about Caldecott at last week's board meeting, the couple cited a report by University of Toronto lecturer Michael Akladios, which points out that Caldecott was anti-immigration, and in favour of newcomers assimilating into mainstream society.

That doesn’t make you a racist. National origin and immigration status is not a race. And expecting newcomers to assimilate isn’t just reasonable, it’s required to maintain national integrity.

They claim he was racist without evidence.

Whenever President Donald Trump spoke the legacy corporate media added “said without evidence” to news articles.

We need to use this for these false allegations.
