I just want Peter Parker.
Sexist and/or racist pig!
Read the new Ultimate Spider-Man by Jonathan Hickman, it's the Peter Parker readers have wanted for years.
Maybe as Peggy Parker or Pegged Parker.
Otherwise in 2058 when Spidey goes public (domain).
Do we do another Morbius and meme them to re-release it after it bombs?
“It’s madaming time” doesn’t have quite the ring to it.
"madaming time" sounds like clocking on for a shift as a brothel manager
That would have been a more interesting movie.
Like all things, it's less funny when women do it../s
"It's madam!"
It's webbening!
Nah, let it rot.
literally who?
why would you make a movie of a character nobody's heard of?
It can work. No one knew who Guardians of the Galaxy were before the movie came out with that fantastic soundtrack and Chris Pratt oozing charisma.
That wasn't even the original GotG lineup!
News to me, which just underscores my point really.
Venom/Venom 2 worked because people like Venom enough on his own, Tom Hardy was good, and the buddy cop theme they had worked.
Morbius was a snoozefest that I would not be surprised if AI wrote some of the script because it was so mindlessly derivative.
I have no idea who the hell Madame Web is, and I don't care.
I didn’t even know it came out or was coming out. Massive marketing failure. As bad as Morbius likely was I didn’t know that was coming out, either. Knew about both Venoms.
It's like they put efforts in making even the title repulsive.
The character existed before--she even showed up in the '90s Spider-Man cartoon at least once, though she was an old lady there.
Doesn't make this movie any better, of course.
Madame Web is an old woman who can appear out of thoughts. How the heck is she young and hip?
And not in a wheelchair
Or surrounded by surreal webs
Post source.
Also: shitty Marvel movie about obscure character no one knows about flops, film at 11.
This one's going to make a Madamillion dollars!!
The reason why these films fail is because of their rabid trans hatred.
Studios should substitute all the privileged cis women with strong trans women, at the same time, triple film budgets, and for sure audiences will come back roaring to watch their movies.
For sure....
Nobody asked for 50 Shades of Spiderman.
GET FUCKED.
Good memories of that one Reddit year-in-review thread.
If Sony has any money left to burn they could follow this up with a movie that focuses solely on the famous Spider-verse wives. I'm thinking a movie with Mary Jane (wife of Spidey), Liz Allan (wife of Green Goblin - Harry Osborn), Betty Brant (wife of Hobgoblin - Ned Leeds), Vanessa Fisk (wife of Kingpin) etc.
Think of the passive-aggressive suffering, the victim mentality, and oh! the so-many opportunities to blame straight, white men for all the wrongs in the world! I can just smell the billions in profits!
YES! It could be a movie about how all these women are personally impacted by the death of Gwen Stacy!
I never looked into it, but if Mary-Jane was canonically the wife of Peter Parker, then who was Gwen paired with?
Then why the fuck do you care? I just love it when you foreign shills pretend to be into nerd shit.
Retard, we don't need to be familiar with every single piece of "nerd" thing to be here. I'm interested enough in Spiderman to have basic knowledge about it, but not interested enough to purchase comic books. Especially not since it would be funding companies I dislike.
I seriously didn't have a clue this film even existed (congrats Marvel marketing department).
Now that I do I'm really looking forward to not watching it.
Idea: Make movies based on successful characters.
But that, I guess, would require them admitting that some of their prior IPs were, in fact, more successful than their modern woke reimaginings.
We have literally thousands of year of story telling and study on what makes stories good. Movies based on failed characters can work. However like art, the people in charge hate movies and want you to have nothing. They don’t care if things bombs because then you still don’t get what you want.
It’s the “This is what I hate about video games it appeals to male fantasy” mind set. They hate good movies because men like them and they want men to have nothing.
Iron Man was far from an A-list character in 2008.
He became big because the movie was so good.
Not that I expect this movie to be good.
Every successful character has to have a first outing. This is one place where I disagree with Nerdrotic: you don't need to reboot the Avengers just because the Avengers was successful. You can do to other characters what was done to Iron Man.
I think I saw exactly one commercial (or maybe it was the trailer at the movies) for this and nothing else. So they clearly have zero confidence in it.
