When was the last time a judge declared a murderer should have to pay $1.2b to the family of their victims??

O.J. Simpson only had to pay $60 million (adjusted for inflation) for two murders.

Just crank it up to match the national debt. Then we can tax the winnings and pay off the debt!

Leftist courts don’t serve justice - they send messages.

If you spread lies about an event that is sacred to gun grabbers, you get fined a billion dollars.

If you lie to start a war that kills a million people, nothing happens to you.

If you are escorted inside the capitol during an unarmed riot (that was clearly a honeypot orchestrated by your own government), you are put in a political prison for years before a vindictive judge throws away the key.

If you burn down buildings, loot businesses, and assault police, you will be released without charge and eventually compensated thousands of dollars.

If you’re a gigantic corporation that knowingly harmed countless people with some dodgy practice, you might have to pay a few million dollars.

If you’re an asshole and a creep who did a bunch of shady shit with one woman’s nudes, then you owe her a billion dollars.

It’s all about sending messages. It’s all just implicit threats. If you do a thot dirty, you will be annihilated beyond all rational measure. If you try to use our own rioting tactics against us, you will learn the harsh reality of our double standard. If you think you have freedom of speech, think again.

These are the most severe punishments our system can deliver, and they are not reserved for murderers, rapists, or people who harm children. No, the targets are political dissidents and anyone who offends the sacred cows of the left. Scummy as they may sometimes be, these people don’t deserve this.

Agreed, they're not operating with regard to the law. They are moral and political enforcers, and nothing more.

The verdict comes after the defendant, Marques Jamal Jackson, breached the woman's personal and work computer accounts, assumed her identity to engage in fraudulent financial activities, and maliciously distributed intimate images and videos of her online.

But why would this probably poor, likely disadvantaged youth engage in such behavior? Bad break up? Cheating? Personal instability? Patriarchy? White supremacy? We may never know.

1.2 billion seems .. excessive.

Just a smidge

1.2 million would still probably be way too excessive. They literally dished out a verdict over 1000x more harsh than what is reasonable to send a message. This is a leftist judiciary in action.

Don't worry, in a few months it'll be roughly the price of one mcdicks soyburger with extra crickets.

Seems like it was a bit more than sharing a few spicy pictures. That said I really don't see this woman getting much from Marques.

Also - what is it with women storing naked pics on their work computers? We had one that accidentally pasted her whole stash into a directory where we kept satellite images pending processing. Including pictures of her giving birth.

Keep that nonsense at home.

Fuck, if I have to send even a generic selfie I delete that shit after I'm done.

What purpose does it have to keep it beyond that? Are you going back and staring at your fucking self?

Of course, we all know women do it so they have impersonable nudes to send anytime they need to guys who think its special for them.

Are you going back and staring at your fucking self?

A narcissistic woman might do that, actually. Or just a woman.

I think in the vast majority of women have their low self esteem out weight their narcissism, so the task of looking at old selfies would just be an exercise in finding flaws and self hate.

But that does sound like a woman thing to do too.

How else is she going to distribute her nudes to interested coworkers? Start an OnlyFans? Send them by personal email in an encrypted file? Put them on a thumb drive to be viewed at home?

Including pictures of her giving birth.

That's fucked up. I don't know why people would take pictures of that. Can nothing in life just be "well that happened and you had to be there?"

Must be nice to be a woman or Person of Diversity. If it was exactly the same, and a white man had been the victim, at best they might have thrown him $5,000 or something. At worst he'd end up owing the perpetrator money, or something, while the media smeared him.

Meanwhile literally retarded black people are becoming millionaires in NY because they couldn't pass a test while black.

Traditionally, the way to ensure women's loyalty was by offering them protection. If a woman was threatened, men were expected to risk everything, including their lives, to make sure that the threat to the woman was averted. If a woman was safe, men were forbidden to take any risks which might lead to a negative change in the woman's life or social status. The protectors were, most often, husbands and fathers, and the women had to follow the rules set by the men, subjugate themselves and placate the men.

In recent times, governments have given the women a better alternative. In stead of offering them protection, they give the women a different kind of promise.

REVENGE.

Nowadays, women are encouraged to act as recklessly as possible, to avoid taking any responsibility for their actions. So, when the inevitable happens, the women will pay the full price for their irrational, hedonistic life choices. But they won't mind it too much, because Big Daddy Government is going to make sure that the guy who wronged them gets punished, as much as inhumanly possible. This feeling of being able to get even is more important to them than feeling safe.

This is why women vote Dem.

Make it 36 trillion and pay off the US national debt.

This reminds me of the Alex Jones fine. Even not knowing any of the facts (archive does not work for me), this seems excessive, though he definitely deserves to get ruined.

The jury is likely barely literate and doesn't know the difference between a billion and a million.

Those are the only kinds of people who become jurors. Quoth Mark Twain:

"We have a criminal jury system which is superior to any in the world; and its efficiency is only marred by the difficulty of finding twelve men every day who don't know anything and can't read."

The only thing he got wrong is that it's not difficult to find 12 retards.

Just FYI America, the rest of the world mocks the US justice system because of its fanciful and loopy financial punitive damages element. Weird Al even has a song about the US legal system called "I'll sue you".

I can just hear Dr Evil's voice saying "One Bill~ion dollars!"

That much money is a death sentence to need to pay out, so just give the damned man the death sentence and be done with it.

I have a feeling if you asked the judge "Geez why don't you just give the man the death penalty?" she'd say "I'd love to, but I can't!"

It doesn´t prevent anything being asked for money that nobody has, if they had fined him €50.000 it would have been enough deterrent.

This is a move almost solely used to prevent further crimes of this nature.

Well its because nobody still takes revenge porn seriously, no matter how much they whine about it how its super evil. Almost like treating something as simple as Sending a fucking image as on par with rape immediately sets off people's "this ain't right" sensor and they don't process it.

Which means dumb teenagers and uncaring black dudes will continue to commit this super duper srs crime every day.

A million dollars would have been equally cost-prohibitive. This is getting into "one death is a tragedy, a million deaths is a statistic" territory.

"We expect the punishment not to be carried out"

Then this is an admission that it is inherently an unreasonable punishment and the judge should be removed for constitutional violations.
