This is the fairly-usual leftie tactic of throwing extra conditions onto something that's just a right.
See property rights, for example - in the leftie utopia, sure, you can have your own property.
Try and make use of it, though ... that's going to be problematic.
Free speech, too - sure, you can have free speech. Unless you're going to use it to say something a leftie doesn't like, then it's "hate speech".
It all fits in with the quiet managerial tyranny lefties seem to prefer - sure, you can own something, but the lefties that have appointed themselves the management have determined that all that means is that you pay for it. They still control it - and everything else.

Never understood the argument against "good guy with a gun". I even know Fudds like that. "You fumbling with your gun in the dark ain't gonna save anyone. You'll end up shooting yourself or a family member." Then they point to some cherry-picked stat about gun accidents. It always seems like they're trying to be contrarian so they won't get lumped in with the "right-wing gun nuts". Obviously mistakes happen but common sense tells you that normal people must be armed if criminals are also armed. I don't even need to see the stats on "lives saved by guns" to prove it. It's one of those self-evident facts that liberals inoculate themselves against.
Lol right? most cops drop into the range once every 2 years for recertification, if that. To be fair, 99.9% of the time you don't need your gun so why bother? Cops these days more likely to run from a gunfight than stop one.

Considering how many times I have seen videos of people trying to fight grease fires with water? Apparently it is indeed a skill that many smooth brains dont know.
You'd think public schools could cover this one. Kids are isually bored out of their minds; imagine giving them lessons involving actual fire. It'd be the single memory they take away from the experience.
Public schools explicitly don't teach useful life skills.

Perhaps my school was a bit different then, but I actually do remember them talking about how to put out a grease fire back from when I was younger (I think around 3rd or 4th grade). It was only once maybe twice.
"don't throw water at a grease fire" is literally the only non-intuitive thing when it comes to putting out fires.
other than that the answer is always to just throw anything non-flammable on the fire, generally water.
First aid is as simple as a tourniquet for limb bleeding, pressure on bleeds, maintain an airway if clogged (ie turn them on their side unless neck injury), and chest compressions if they have no pulse.
Beyond that there is not a lot you can do with no equipment.
Ya it's more like use normal hand pressure unless you are unable to stop it with all your force, then use a tourniquet as tight as possible on the limb.
Like 90% of the tangible benefits of first aid training are down to CPR, keeping people going long enough for proper life support/resuscitation is a big deal.
Aside from preventing a few niche injuries like crush syndrome, the rest is either only minor benefits or so obvious/common-knowledge that you don't really need training to mostly get the right idea.

Most people who legally carry have more training than police since if something goes wrong they have less of a safety net compared to cops and even criminals when you look at how much black on black crime goes under the radar.

They are saying that if you only have a gun but dont know anything else, it means that when the mugger gets the drop on you and kills you, your wallet and other items just become a loot drop for the mugger.
We are just going to ignore that, statistically speaking, most muggers run the second someone pulls a weapon on them (even if it is not fired), and that almost everyone who owns a gun is probably trained in things like first aid.

Yeah. I was just pointing out the fact that they can never "make anything themselves", be it a functional country or even a profitable business - they need to rob and kill others - that's why they have a kill count of hundreds of millions over the decades around the world.
I can't carry a firearm (as I'm not american) but I know all of the others and I don't see what any of them have to do with a firearm.
First Aid - Gun is more of a deterrent and if not then the one needing first aid will probably be the criminal so nothing of worth was lost anyway. Things get way messier if you have to knife fight or even fist fight someone.
Put out a fire - I know it's called a "fire"arm but it's not a fucking flamethrower nor does your arm catch on fire when you shoot....maybe if you douse it in gasoline and are using a musket
Stay calm under extreme stress - again the gun is to stop you from getting into positions of extreme stress any close range combat with deadly weapons is a lot more stressful than something involving range, especially when you have the advantage of it and the enemy does not.
But then again I live in a country where firearms are a rarity, what is your friends excuse ?

These aren’t all bad points. You should know life-saving skills besides how to shoot, and having an arsenal can make you a greater target in a chaotic situation. Those are things to consider for survival. Out of the context that this is meant to prove that gun ownership is pointless, this meme isn’t really incorrect.

Firstly, plenty of people do prepare for other things, and not just carry a gun. But even if you're just carrying a gun, you're still more prepared than if you'd done none of those things. Lastly, it's stupid because it's like saying "hmmmf, you wear your seat belt but not a helmet?" One precaution is still better than nothing.
