So that's how it's done? I often wondered how it's possible that they somehow don't even accidentally design a pretty female character. Now it makes sense.
I mean I would CLAIM that rather than gross incompetence and mismanagement. But there's a lot of evidence for the latter just from the status of the game engine used.
Honestly, 758k is tiny for a game these days, even if you ignore the marketing budgets. That would get you 4 programmers for about 2 years, maybe less.
Back in 2000 there was a cool cop game called Urban Chaos 2. You played as a black female detective. I don’t remember any issues and you can point to plenty of female or minority characters in the past but when you hammer me over the head and constantly tell me I have to like something because it has the right diversity it gets annoying. And you are spot on about the over saturation of quirkiness.
I honestly saw very little shilling for it. It seemed more like they wanted to sweep it under the rug and not acknowledge it because it would damage their future blackqween games.
I mean, from the moment Forspoken was even mentioned to exist it was being dunked on hard. It had a negative hype train for years that didn't change at all with more info or release.
If it was shilled, it had to have been a while ago.
I doubt it, there is no way that this game had this budget.
It makes no sense, it was obvious a test run game for "modern audiences", you do not throw such a huge budget on an experiment.
If we had a real Department of Justice instead of the partisan mess we have now they'd be sending forensic accountants down to see how much of this money was laundered. I'm betting just like Hollywood studios drug cartels are now using "game" companies to launder their Fentanyl money.
Is it possible a substantial proportion of that was spent developing the game engine itself? I remember reading this started out as a tech demo or something.
Surely even Squeenix would shitcan a game running into this level of budget overrun; especially on a new IP.
Not surprising at all. All these huge companies are giant money pits. The developer subsidiary grift their parent company and pay top dollar salaries for dumb shit. The incentive structure is fucked because the parent company does not adequately supervise and impose discipline on spending.
So now an expensive lesson is learned and Square will demand more supervision next time.
BWHAHAHAHA, what did they spend it on, yoga classes? Feelings seminars on how life is for an urban black woman?
It didn't go into art or design I tell you that much!
They need whole departments to make characters as ugly as possible
So that's how it's done? I often wondered how it's possible that they somehow don't even accidentally design a pretty female character. Now it makes sense.
it's a money laundering scheme.
I mean I would CLAIM that rather than gross incompetence and mismanagement. But there's a lot of evidence for the latter just from the status of the game engine used.
Why not both?
I feel like there are easier avenues you could go down for that, but I'm too ignorant in this to rule it out.
How can it be money laundering if they're spending the money and not making a profit?
entertainment industry sinecures are the globohomo equivalent of commie working for the state.
you must be woke, adhere to the ideology, be ready to bribe and taking bribes, be morally bankrupt and be friend of friends. skills aren't needed.
the goal is to turn "everything is political" up to a point the state will have to subside it as they propaganda will become indispensable.
too bad convincing people to voluntarily seek propaganda is very difficult otherwise no dictatorship would have to force it on their citizens.
There is no way that at least half of that wasn't embezzled.
Are we sure that isn't yen?
That's still 758 thousand dollars
Honestly, 758k is tiny for a game these days, even if you ignore the marketing budgets. That would get you 4 programmers for about 2 years, maybe less.
That's about what it looks like they spent on this game.
Money laundering.
How? The money was spent and they're not making a profit.
And this game had the backing of all the media shills
They probably spent half the money buying off shills.
True

Shill early, then memory hole when the DARVO tactics fail as people realize the game is dogshit for more reasons than Shaniqua twerking with her mind

I saw some of the usual overhype due to a black female being the protagonist but I didn’t go too deep.
I doubt it, there is no way that this game had this budget. It makes no sense, it was obvious a test run game for "modern audiences", you do not throw such a huge budget on an experiment.
Its already on like 30% discount on steam
Imagine putting on your resume that you had any responsibility in a project that literally killed your last company.
Squeenix is no stranger to boondoggles.
Forespoken is just FF XIV 1.0 all over again.
If we had a real Department of Justice instead of the partisan mess we have now they'd be sending forensic accountants down to see how much of this money was laundered. I'm betting just like Hollywood studios drug cartels are now using "game" companies to launder their Fentanyl money.
Trannies don't reproduce. Evidently, they don't produce either.
DEI, O flightless bird, and rise no more. ◼️
Is that end to end? I recall someone saying the dev time on this distilled cringe was something like 10 years in total
Is it possible a substantial proportion of that was spent developing the game engine itself? I remember reading this started out as a tech demo or something.

Please tell me that's 100 million yen and not USD

Did that include everyone's termination fee when it was over?
