Back in 2000 there was a cool cop game called Urban Chaos 2. You played as a black female detective. I don’t remember any issues and you can point to plenty of female or minority characters in the past but when you hammer me over the head and constantly tell me I have to like something because it has the right diversity it gets annoying. And you are spot on about the over saturation of quirkiness.
I honestly saw very little shilling for it. It seemed more like they wanted to sweep it under the rug and not acknowledge it because it would damage their future blackqween games.
I mean, from the moment Forspoken was even mentioned to exist it was being dunked on hard. It had a negative hype train for years that didn't change at all with more info or release.
If it was shilled, it had to have been a while ago.
