They think this because when they look around at other women in their social circles, all the most powerful women are bitches. This is because it's only the most socially powerful women who can get away with being bitches. This is true even from middle school and high school, where the most socially powerful women are the "mean girls".
So all these feminists deep down are jealous of the bitches and want to be them. They are bitches, but feel like they can't let their inner bitch out because people would resent them. But if they had enough POWER they wouldn't have to care what other people think, they could just be the bitch they truly want to be.
That's why all these "strong women" characters are such unlikable bitches all the time.
Non-feminist women understand that men and women fill different roles, with men as the aggressors/combatants and women as the supporters and community builders. So non-feminist women understand that "being a bitch" is directly against the female role, and that women are instead supposed to be diplomatic and consensus-building to get their way and have influence. Unlike feminists, non-feminists don't actually just want to be men. They value feminine power such as things like class, grace, and beauty.
They look at their own social hierarchy and their own lust for "bad guys", thus concluding that the men's social hierarchy must be the same as theirs i.e. the bitches are on top (since, after all, men and women are exactly the same... Women are better, even, thus that conclusion surely must be correct).
In a rare moment of a coherent and logical conclusion, they therefore attempt to be men by what they perceive as being the best men - which is essentially a crossbreed of 10/10 psychopathy and sociopathy.
I get it: realistic dialogue is unrealistic. The way people really talk is usually pretty boring. People fall back on common sayings, erode vocabulary with profanity, spew trite cliches, etc.
But that doesn't mean it's BETTER to make your fictional characters do it.
This is like....screenwriting 101 here. There's a way to make a fictional person seem realistic, which is often different from what real people WANT to watch/read.
It really is screenwriting 101. New writers have been reaching this "aha" moment since before movies existed.
For example, the game firmly establishes that Freya's life is shit: she's on the verge of going to jail, loses all her money and her apartment, has no friends or family, etc. Needs a new start in life.
That doesn't sound like her life is shit; that sounds like she, herself, is shit, and everything else is a direct consequence of her being a shit human being.
Ella Balinska isn't just the "voice actor". The character in the game looks exactly like her. She's just being an actor. The character is just her.
She's going to be a darling child of the entertainment media for a while, so it's funny that she's going to be so strongly associated with a shitty game:
she's black looking, but "one of the good ones" because like Obama her blackness isn't American, she's british and mixed race
she downplays her blackness. media types don't like angry blacks like John Boyega who chimp out and scream racism when they don't get their way
although her skin tone is dark enough to be deemed "black" her facial features are 100% white looking, so she's basically just a hot (not giving my opinion, but broadly people will consider her to be hot) white woman with the skin tone slider turned down
So she's perfect for what the hollywood types want: a "black" woman who fully checks the boxes, without any of the bitter aftertaste they get from other blacks.
Expect to see her very in-demand and forced into lots of stuff.
In terms of 'a developed and understandable character' that players embodied, you have been beaten by a guy that only said one line in the entire game (Doom Slayer), animals like cats and dogs (stray and that WW1 game) and that bird from BF1 story.
If she had just said "I did what I could with the script" EVERYONE would have understood, especially considering that the studio in question is getting shut down.

Or anyone from the early late 90s to early 2000s. That was the whole character with an attitude stick we had, some did it great and some did not but I would count that as "bold". Meanwhile the dindu in this game is stealing shit right after giving a second chance, keeps being annoying and has got some of the cringeyest dialogue in gaming(yes, even counting anime games).
