Been reading comments on the ongoing disaster that is the N-word adaptations (plural now yes) of The Witcher and saw this comment, someone it's still not common knowledge hiw these "people" just hate the very concept of femininity and what they call "gender roles" in general (media.kotakuinaction2.win)

They hate femininity because they are fundamentally following the path of satan, even when they aren't explicitly satanists. They can't accept the very concept of a natural order because accepting it might require them to take responsibility for their actions.

Femininity is accepting that men are stronger and smarter and better at making difficult decisions, working under pressure, being accountable for results, etc. And not delusionally competing with men because it is obvious women are inferior to men at every objectively measurable activity.

Instead leaning into womens strengths of establishing and maintaining relationships and assisting her husband, family, and community in strengthening their social bonds.

I didn't see season 2, but wasn't her whole persona that she was beautiful and powerful, but sacrificed her ability to have children and regretted it?

If they dropped that, what was her character's point/motivation?

yennefer is hot in the video games.

in the show she's an ugly indian chick.

Basically only the male casting in the netflix show makes sense. All the women are ugly, and most of them have been race swapped. Yennefer, Fringilla, and Triss are all dog ugly and race swapped.

Fringilla specifically was the most egregious, she's supposed to be the most beautiful woman on the entire continent and in the show they pulled her straight out of Heart of Darkness.

I have noticed that when these Hollywood types race swap a character, it's never with a beautiful version of the race they are replacing, it's always ugly or (in the case of men) gay.

Having a beautiful black woman play Fringilla is still race swapping, but at least it's something decent to look at.

But nope, black AND ugly. It's almost like these Hollywood types are the actual racist.

Notice how you also almost never see women in Hollywood movies with breasts larger than DD.

Salma Hayek is a good example of this. She's extremely voluptuous and well endowed by Hollywood standards, and yet she's not that far above average in the real world. Christina Hendricks is probably the bustiest actress I've ever seen, and she even talked about how she would be turned down for roles because of her size.

In real life you can see women with G or larger a lot of the time, but not in Hollywood, because women feel threatened by them, and they can't afford to lose women's money.

In a way though this kinda makes sense for the narrative they're trying to push. "You could be the most hideous person on the planet, yet one day a super attractive guy will find you hot even after you accuse him of rape 37 times."

I'm not big on the overall lore, but yeah, I'm pretty sure all mages of note are sterile. And this would probably help play into how she feels about Ciri, being the lover of the man trying to be a father figure to her would naturally lead Yen into being a motherly figure towards Ciri.

It's dead without Henry. Using Chris less talented brother won't net then anything.

A woman who gave up her ability to bear children, regrets it, tries to reverse it, it fails but then when she uses that motherly instinct and attention on Ciri in an almost Foster mother role with Geralt being the father, she's basically a mama bear with access to nuclear codes.

Yeah, I got no idea why that would be interesting, it's not like that was one of the reasons The Witcher 3 game was such a smash hit and nearly everyone loved Yennefer as a character.

The size of Team Triss refutes your last sentence. 😛

They are just suckers for redheads, can't blame them too much, they're in short supply and suddenly turning black a lot!

But scene from the game is where they should have taken the character, which it sounds like they abandoned (I stopped watching after season 1) because even though this Yennefer can body most people in the game she's mom first when Ciri around.

If I had only played 3 I would probably have been on #TeamYennifer but I had to stick with Triss after the first two games.

That show should’ve been a slam dunk. You had a popular actor in Cavill who women will tune in for and he actually cares about the story and lore. You hire the typical female who changes things for no reason. I watched first season but cancelled Netflix shortly after.

The one good thing about the desecration of good stories is that I am reading even more now. I bought the Wheel of Time books because I figured Amazon would ruin it. Read LOTR and Hobbit again. Gonna loo for Elric and Witcher books soon and have Conan the Barbarian complete Robert Howard stories in my pending stack to read.

I gave up after the 1st season as the only character that seemed even remotely authentic to the source material was Geralt. Yennefer and Triss, 2 characters I absolutely loved in the games, weren’t just unrecognizable in appearance but also in personality. Yen from the games and books was a fascinating character, and offered an interesting commentary on power, what is desirable in life, and reflecting on dealing with having things taken from you.

I have no doubt that a contributing factor is denial that millennial women are in, about feeling regret for choosing to remain childless and/or unmarried. Now that many are entering or past the twilight years of their ability to bear children, you are starting to see the weight of that decision push down on them. But since we are in the age of narcissism and hedonism, anything that makes someone feel bad about themselves is taboo and forbidden to discuss.

Remember how Joss Whedon, who was once a darling of the left, got shit for Age of Ultron because Black Widow lamented she felt like a monster because the Russians removed her uterus during the Black Widow program/indoctrination? The modern leftist is a gargantuan bag of insecurities and mental issues, so no other person (real or imagined) is allowed to regret having a thing taken away that they ,the leftist woman, gave up willingly.

I try not to revel in the suffering of others, but I won’t be able to suppress a smirk or two when the Sex and the City generation meets the same and inevitable end as the creator of said series. A withered and lonely spinster, alone and unloved. The life of sex and pleasure they embraced a distant memory as their looks have long since melted away. Perpetually drunk on box wine and handfuls of pills, trying to numb the agonizing wish that they had chosen differently. Surrounded by cats, desperately hoping their niece or nephew calls, if for just a moment to feel the joy they denied themselves, of having a child in their life. Until they suddenly and unglamorously pass away. People that can be authentically happy and fulfilled without a spouse and children are a very small minority, and even they have expressed moments of contemplative regret from time to time. Combined with all the other unaddressed mental issues and social problems in the 22-40 demographic, there is a bomb of depression and despair that is going to go off in our lifetime. It’d be fascinating to watch if it wasn’t going to completely fuck the country I live in.

And the irony in how Yennefer is portrayed, and how these "proffessional" career driven women have the same thoughts, is lost on them.

Instincts are kind of hard to ignore.

Is there a chance you could help me out by rephrasing or adding context to the first half of your title? I am more confused the more I reread it.

One thing about KIA2 is that the art of brevity seems to be lost on a few regular posters here.

Boobs and Supreme have good content. Maybe some titles are funky but I feel self-conscious about any trouble I have interpreting the text, rather than feeling very critical of them as title authors. They do it for free.

I actually do use semicolons way more than the average person. Which is to say I use them at all.

And yes, I had to fight the urge to use one just now.

I know you're writing Nutflix, you don't need to censor the word when we're all aware of what you're typing. All it does is make it annoying to parse your dialogue.

Feminists behind the camera, means shit on screen. It's like the ladies bathroom. In theory it's all roses and holy water, but in reality it's tampons on the ceiling and used menstrual pads on the walls. And you don't even want to know what's in the toilet bowl. No joke either.
