I had a friend from college who hand-wrote his application to Blizzard in the style of an old scroll as a set of skills in XP form. Mailed it using one of those cylinder mailers you'd use for posters. I think he even used a quill pen. Thing was a work of art. Didn't get the job, and he was one of the truly gifted ones.
I see things like this, and I think about that sometimes.
That would definitely make hr and whoever had to look over 100s of applications super happy to deal with instead of the standard resume /s. At a small company sending that in would probably go over well, but the sheer number of applicants that’s was never going to be appreciated there. Those kind of things go over better at gdc or industry events.
I got hired at Blizzard in part because as a cover letter on my intern application, I wrote a late-night TV infomercial advertising myself. A decade ago, that kind of flavor definitely got you noticed positively.
HR doesn't deserve to be happy.
The lead programmer, designer, and artist has to go through the ones hr passes on, and if you want a job you should want them being happy when they see your name.
Which is why engineering departments so often do whatever they can to circumvent the HR processes that treat such applications as an annoyance.
Though I think it did end up getting him an on-site interview. This was back when they were still small enough to appreciate such things.
Not sure if you are aware of this, but men are treated like dogshit in Asia as well.
Japanese men are so overworked and their women are so petulant that they're just dropping out of the dating market and becoming NEETs.
Well no shit, their whole religion is about, and forgive me for saying this without irony. Patriarchy.
Works pretty damned well for them though.
Ok, fine. We'll look at China instead.
Parents aborted all their female babies because they wanted men who would take care of them, while having little hope of attracting a desirable woman to create a life for themselves with.
Tell me the comments are full of "Having boobs. That's it. Worthless cunt."
Her last name is also a hint.
You don't even need to see the name in most cases.
You can tell by their appearance.
Did you see that big schnoz?
Most jews are olive skinned from the nigger admixture.
I was thinking ugly hispanic. She doesn't look asian to me. I wouldn't be surprised if she has a jew dad and a hispanic mom.
It's makeup.
Shit, I missed it too.
You gotta really embed "tits are temporary the glory of Rome is forever" into your psyche in order to not let distractions pull you.
Ah judaism and nepotism, can you name a more iconic duo.
Khazar milkers.
Why does she look exactly like Lindsay Ellis.
Rofl, I could tell that was a Jew just from the thumbnail.
Feeling pretty proud of myself for successful Jewspotting in 20 pixels.
Now ask yourself why her dream job is making a form of media she has no interest in. What does she get out of it?
She gets to propagandize the goys.
"What are you trying to tell me? That I can check early life?"
"No, Neo. I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready, you won't even have to."
It's honestly starting to feel that way.
Can you see it, Joh~~~n?
Yeah... I'm thinkin I can see it...
Important comment.
She's a "talent marketing specialist" aka HR/recruiting. She shills job openings for Blizzard. Now why the hell that'd be anyones dream job is beyond me.
Oh, so she's not even in a creative department, but a gatekeeping department? That makes the source of her enjoyment even more obvious; She's a kingmaker. A gatekeeper.
She gets to help decide who gets hired, who gets fired, who gets promoted.
Ultimately it hooks on to the exact same thing as being a propagandist, though; She feels she is part of something that is going to change the future.
It's the same feeling that you see at the Oscars or any screen actors guild gathering - where they all nod and confirm to eachother that its their great calling to change the world through their job.
Same deal.
I almost guarantee she doesn't even consciously realize there's anything wrong in it.
I'm sure that the only people that she's interested in hiring have they/them pronouns, blue hair, or -stein at the end of their surname.
How to say “everything wrong with the gaming industry” in one photo
Blizzard hasn't given a shit about gaming since vivendi took over and forced out the original leadership team so many years ago.
I knew a number of people who worked there. A lot of MBA types who gave 0 fucks about gaming sought out employment there purely because it's a big, successful company. They could care less about video games, they just want a "sexy" job at a Fortune 500 "tech" company. All these people would jump ship to work at Amazon or Google or Apple or Netflix in a second.
[wondering intensifies]
Blatant DIEversity hire right here folks!
I bet they lack coding experience too.
God I hate that style of HR-speak. And that it has permeated all aspects of business.
One of the requirements for my job as a Fortune 500 programmer was something like "must be able to lift and carry office items of a nominal weight" or something like that. Basically HR-speak for "you need to be able to carry your laptop around, or maybe throw a ream of paper into the printer if it's empty; but we're not going to make you shuffle heavy boxes of inventory around in the warehouse", but they can't just come out and say it that way.
"Jee, I wonder" zooms into the female gender symbol
"Wait, it's Blizzard" zooms into her tits
glances at last name
I love the diversity of blame-assigning here. Her sex, her sexuality, her religion, her race, so many different possibilities!
Notably, no one is saying "talent", though.
Jesus, that Hide the Pain smile.
It's because you were coding at an Engineering firm for several years, and you decided you wanted something that was more fun and appealing to you, so you offered up your years of coding skills, and evidence of good project design and co-ordination, at a competitive wage; wasn't it?
Oh.
It's because you sucked someone's dick, and pledged to push DIE initiatives for simp money. You're literally whoring yourself out in the form of corporate branding so that those retarded TikToks where you do nothing all day is considered part of your work.
You need to give one of those monitors back to supply. Actual Engineers need 2-3 monitors. You're dumb ass doesn't. You can have fun with a $500 ThinkPad from 2015.
Oh.
You don't have any coders, do you?
(((Goldsmith))) Hmm... I wonder how.
Something about this picture tells me she nose how she got the job.
Tits, diversity points and a willingness to swallow
(((Goldsmith))) ( . ) ( . )
do you need anything else?
Please, do tell! The secret must weigh heavily... On your chest! And you really seem to have a nose for it!
By being a bug(wo)man?
Also, that is the most awkward looking smile ever. Not the most relevant I know :P
How I got my dream job coaching baseball having never thrown a ball…. Same energy
Ah, I get to tell my "favorite" story.
The reason Activision settled the suit wasn't because of the rape stories staight out of a 1980s porn film. It was because they were going to be found guilty of discrimination for...requiring people who work there to have an interest in their games, which is a majority male audience.
Now, what makes this interesting is a post of mine from forever ago, on Reddit. I wish I could find it.
Bumble, the women-first circlejerk (and my favorite company to short), has an app for making work connections. You have to be a woman to join, and jobs can be posted there.
This is not discrimination, according to the same people who said Activision was.
When you stop commenting, we'll know what happened.
I went leveraged against PayPal and won, I've had a great record shorting so far this year.
Bumble earnings : November 9th. Can't wait!
Match beat on earnings, but still crashed in the following days. These companies are so easy to bet against, because even the likes of Netflix will be chosen to keep by people cutting back costs, over nebulous and expensive concepts like "love". They can stem the bleeding when the economy looks like it's "recovering", but when reality sets back in, they're as good as dead.
I guess it's not hard to keep winning when the general trend is down. Just keep adding cash to avoid the margin call until the next crash.
I'm sure a crazy person's shorts will definitely beat the market in the long run and not just because of dumb luck.
So far at least.
I sense that you're going to get into a world of trouble.
I've beaten the market handily.
Long way down from here. Fed will not slow the hikes and these negative EPS companies are dead if it reaches 5%+.
I'm not so stupid to gamble away everything I have. I have exit points that I won't go past. Bumble would have to reach a new ATH to even get close to wiping out my current position. More chance of it reaching zero than that.
I did have a good laugh at the "fair value" estimate though. $47? Don't make me laugh.
You should start a mutual fund.
Why are you the only one to have seen that then?
I'm sorry, I thought you were as crazy on the money thing as you are on the woman thing.
He's not. Pretty much every financial bit of financial advice I've seen for the past 3 years is, "we're on the part of the map that says 'thar be dragons here'".
The Australian "Conservatives" government told the Treasury department to begin preparing to implement negative interest rates! There was a national ban on cash transactions of more than $10,000. This was following whitepapers by the IMF on the use of Negative Interest Rates to keep the bubble bubbling along, and as an alternative (supplement?) to "quantitively easing".
Things are beyond crazy.
And yet here we are.
Of course, if you keep predicting earthquakes, some day one will arrive.
I don't have that kind of capital.
Because a lot of retail traders are delusional because they want to be bullish on the market. Buy the dip, it's just on sale etc are all just nice sayings. They want to believe things will bounce like 2021, but there's so much more going on. China's "zero covid" plan will continue choking out supply of various things. Inflation will continue to rise until that stupid fuck Zelensky is sent back to Ukiewood, and then there will need to be strong action that will likely put a lot of people out of work just to lower it 2-3%. There's no shortage of institutions and respected traders going short right now, I'm not really swimming against the current. I just choose to short companies I don't like, rather than indexes. It's more satisfying. It feels like more of a win to see 10% cut off Bumble than 10% cut off the SPY.
The consequence of a wrong decision online is you bringing it up to mock me. The consequences of a bad decision on leverage is financial collapse. I'm not crazy, I have an investment philosophy.
If by retail traders you mean ordinary people, they likely have very little effect on the price. Call me crazy, but "the people who earn money doing this have it wrong" seems rather unlikely.
Only thing I agree with you on. But if that's the case, I wonder why things haven't gone south already. In 2020, I didn't buy the dip because I thought that there would be a much worse crash coming with 30% unemployment. Then things just started rising and I got screwed.
I didn't expect you to consider 'consequences' of your actions. You don't seem like the type. I assume that if the Bumble thing goes wrong, you'll claim that women started buying it en masse to destroy you or something, and claim victory because many more women supposedly had their finances ruined for it.
I said it before, I'll say it again:
WRITE. A. BOOK.
There's this crazy guy on another win who wrote a 1,060-page book. I have two pages from it. He clearly has more initiative than you--and he's the biggest blackpiller on this whole damn domain.
Already went through this last time it was posted, but I have posted the story again.
The leader of Activision's takedown later tried at Epic, got rejected for being hired, and sued for discrimination. They have a plan and they just go from company to company extorting.
How do you RICO an entire gender?
How dare you ask such a sexist question
Because it gives her the opportunity to do something she has always wanted to do.
Ruin male hobbies and spaces.
Because Activision Blizzard is a fortune 500 company with very high pay and getting a job there looks great on your resume.
I had to look up what a "talent marketing specialist" was. It's a recruiter.
So her job is to headhunt nerds with her fat tits.
"Work for us if you like what you see. ;)"
"But if I catch you looking at my tits, you're fired."
It's not quite two-faced enough to represent a woman. She should threaten more than a firing.
Fat tits don't help with recruiting though.
Blizzards pay is notoriously bad. Most game studios that you think pay well based on successful games probably don’t because they have a ton of applicants who want to work on their favorite game.
I mean, you are asking a good question but actually I could see someone having a generic dream job and this just happened to fill it. Like: "My dream job is something that pays a lot, and I just sit around and I don't have to do any real work".
I mean it is a pretty shallow dream job when it is generic like that but could be.
But, yeah it is still not unreasonable to laugh at how stupid that sounds and looks.
