Was that the Pickle Rick episode? The Pickle Rick episode was fucken terrible, and that was the episode that killed it for me, I stopped watching after that. The whole episode was about tearing down Rick and Jerry. The therapist with Rick, and the kids making Jerry out to be a sexist. I get that Jerry isn’t supposed to be likable, but at no point was he ever a sexist. It was evident to me at that point that the shitty female writers had taken over.
Jerry's entire existence in the show is them trying to force us to believe he is somehow just as evil as everyone else because he is gaslighting and manipulating everyone by acting pathetic to get his way.
Its the most raw and honest portrayal I've ever seen of what they think of Beta men, and just how much they hate them.
adding onto that is one massive daddy-issues related backlash against their 'lame' suburban dads not being the badass father figures that hollywood told them they deserved.
