It was reasonably entertaining, but he was an abusive, holier-than-though prick even then. And if you watch the Harmontown documentary, you can see how he treats those close to him.

Yeah I remember being so excited for season 3 and when it came out was just so disappointing. You know an animated comedy show is terrible when you can’t sit through 20mins, basically modern day Simpsons.
I think you should watch season 3. It's fun to be vindicated and have your assumptions confirmed. Watch it as a case study I mean, to witness how shit things get when you abandon merit and competence.
It really is spectacular how much worse it got as soon as they added women and diversity to the writing team. It's like a poison that immediately kills the host.
I stopped watching in the middle of season 4, it just keeps getting worse until then.
First season was genuinely entertaining.
Second season, IMO, was alright, but had way too much emphasis on the drama between the characters instead of creative monster-of-the-week scenarios.
Then prior to season 3 they bragged about adding a bunch of women to the writing team. I haven't watched an episode since.
