It's a well known thing with "look at this art I made" posts on Reddit, that if you are a girl and are halfway decent looking, you will likely blow up with tens of thousands of updoots, because redditors are thirsty losers whose lizard brains compel them to act that way.
And the comments are full of losers STRAINING to compliment the girl on something other than her looks, because, again, thirsty losers think that is the winning strat to get pussy.
Jesus fucking christ, what is this? Reddit? Focus is entirely wrong where you see her, it's to show "look, I, a woman made this, updoots please" vs just some cool art. The Point of the old meme still stands, the focus on just the object is gone.
While obviously her being a woman matters, the marketing thing is right. The left pic looks like it could be computer generated. No one can verify if it's real or just stolen etc... The second one proves more or less that a real person made it. That's what the "realer" means. However, I would bet if a man made it then it would get significantly less results.
100% this, I seen enough shit on reddit to know that if you wanna show off something you need to take a shitty picture of it in front of something. If she had just took a picture of the painting on her painting setup with a thumbs up she'd get a hella lot more upvotes than the first picture.
But having a girl holding it and taking ownership of the work? Oh baby, that's retard... I mean reddit, that's reddit catnip.
Yo if I made a painting sure as shit id put it in front of a picture of my wife for more attention - women are beautiful creatures and eyeballs stick to them better.
I don't know man. People (admittedly, those who are not autists) like to see human faces. If it were a charismatic male artists, I am pretty sure it would also have gotten more upvotes.
The time of day that you post something also has a big impact. I remember from my KiA days that if I wanted something to be seen by a lot of people, I had to post it when it's morning in Murrica. Around 14:00 GMT.
None of this is to suggest that r-gaming users are not sad SJW losers who upvote because they got excited by a woman.
Both were on the front page back in the day at the same time, but the guy was on for something like 4 hours with 2k votes and the girl for like 2 days and 20k votes. The comments were like "omgosh that double bounce dance she's doing is so hard" meanwhile the guy literally doing backflips and styled to the music.

I remember when Fortnite's reddit was full of women's garbage cosplays and skin concepts. They always had more upvotes than even Epic themselves could manage.
That is the most obvious sign that women's engagement in communities is heavily botted for political reasons.
If by bots you mean white knights. Men have been raised to believe that if you spend money on women they will in turn show affection. The same is true with internet currency.
I've got a weird theory. What if the hit and like count is based on user satisfaction. The website gets more money if the users think they are popular. Several friends and I had blogs that got decent hits, but none of it made sense. The majority were Linux users from websites that posted links with no explanation. In Russian no less.
We finally realized it was paid for hits to make us feel like we had readers.
Now, if the poster is female, they demand higher satisfaction. This means more fake hits. If the female makes it obvious this is a woman, then it gets more hits and leverage to give her the higher satisfaction. If she hid that, it's still mostly bots, but at an expected average amount.
so many years later and this image is still relevant

But she's not in front of it
No, but she's cutting the image off to make room for her.
And ain't blockin' shit
25% of the image is cut off from below. Come on, you're willfully missing the point.
Wrong. https://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/f3cp2k/made_a_watercolor_painting_of_geralt_of_rivia/
True, I'll acknowledge that, and maybe you'll acknowledge that there's more woman in that picture than Geralt. Still missing the point.
One's in front.
Other's in back.
Totally different.

u r ghey

It's reddit.
Not a word, but anyway if the artist was a fat blob or a guy with "a face for radio", the one on the left would do better.
shows boobs and makes $1M

Nah, if the girl is ugly it won't get upvotes. The girl has to hit a sweet spot of fuckable but not too much of a Stacey.
For guys, the uglier the better. One of the top voted posts I've seen is a dude who is absolutely hideous.
Didn't know the guy who plays Aegon is fishing for upvotes.
Reddit is dominated by young thirsty losers who lose their goddamn minds over seeing a girl who is a 6/10.
Well, anything above a 5/10 becomes increasingly rarer by the day.
Does anyone think that the girl's beauty is also why it got more votes? Anyone? Bueler?
Of course I always knew, but this was the reddit example where I finally said "are you fucking serious".
Parov Stelar guy dance
Parov Stelar girl dance

The girl's video having a link to onlyfans in the description really drives the point home.
I hate women

Ironic in a sub called 'gaming'
I never stopped using Old Reddit, so avatars and pictures don't exist.
It's just walls of text on a white background.
lol no, all they'll learn from this will be: "women are an untapped market in games, if we pander to women our games will sell millions"
One post was botted and one wasn't.

Reddit is not nearly sophisticated enough to automatically figure out if a user is a man or a woman.
Well when your mods are chicks with dicks….
This is part of your insistence that "men really secretly hate women", right? So it must be bots.
He really should just write a work of fiction with his premise. It might make an entertaining read.
