Just ignoring for a minute the many reasons this scene is ridiculous the reason that it is truly shitty is she's never concerned. I don't care if someone has been fencing for a thousand years and the other guys have never picked up a sword you should be taking it seriously because a wild swing can still send you to the Halls of Waiting. This isn't a kung-fu movie; it's supposed to be serious, but she's not taking it seriously so why should the viewer.
LotR had grim fighters giving it their all because they've already accepted their deaths. Rangz has a smug fighter who knows she has plot armor.
e: Okay, just noticed the clapping at the end. What's the context? Was this supposed to be some sort of exhibition? He went straight for her neck on the first swing. e: Okay, it was training so the swords are presumably blunted, so that explains why she isn't taking it particularly seriously.
This is why women are shit as significant characters: the libtard writers make them all Mary Sues who are perfect at everything and exist just to make fools of men.
Characters like that are boring and irritating. They don't exist for the sake of plot or story, they just exist to pander to stupid, insecure women at the expense of men.
Good point. After re-watching it I don't think the swords are blunted so training or not she shouldn't be so nonchalant. I hate the block at 35 seconds; it isn't exclusive to rangz though; in general entertainment ignores that a sword can pivot around a blocking sword; he could pivot a couple degrees and slice open her arm.
No, you don't know anything about swords. Clearly. As soon as one sword touches another, it is locked firmly in place by the laws of magnetism until the wielder pulls it back. Swords that are touching cannot pivot, slide, grind or change position in any way!
even holding a sword incorrectly (gripped too close to the crossguard) means you're going to lose at least a thumb and maybe your whole hand. Sword fights are big knife fights, and the single rule of a knife fight is, "You ARE going to get cut."
doesnt matter how much you spend, diversity hires who know they can't be fired will never put out beyond an absolute minimum of effort and expect high praise for it
Sounds like a pretty solid formula. When you aren’t hired because of your work and know you can’t be fired unless you commit murder your effort will be pretty lacking
I did expect it to such from a story point of view but with all the money they should have some fight coordinators and better costumes and makeup.
Not to mention you could at least have some self awareness from the writers, making the Guylandriel teach this people to fight was so forced and silly.
When you have almost endless money to spend you should have better things, the original GOT had much better of everything on a much smaller budget.
Bollywood is aware of it's own insanity, and simultaneously embraces and mocks itself, which makes it entertaining and fun. Bollywood also extols the virtues of its own people. Rings of Power takes itself wholly seriously, while it's ridiculously bad, and offers none of the benefits of Bollywood, and is made by Hollywood, which constantly shits on white people.
This just seemed so boring, you can have a one sided fight even a training fight be entertaining but this just had no passion behind it other than 'she's the best'
The real crime is that this was episode 3 or 4 and we’re still being subjected to the fight choreography equivalent of Galadriel just blurting out that she’s the best and the strongest.
It looks like it was coriographed by someone that only watches anime. Not making a jab at anime enjoyers, it's just... you know that invincible aditude in their power level fights....
What do you mean? Everyone knows that when fighting, power level is the ONLY thing that matters. Galadriel is clearly over 9000, and this isn't even her final form. All according to keikaku.

It's interesting to contrast this scene with the scene in Fellowship where Boromir is training Merry and Pippin.
Fuck off. They are all WHITE, which is literal genocide of the colors of people.
Which means she's extra magical and superior since she somehow sliced a net off the ceiling with her blunted swords.

There are strict rock-paper-scissors rules to follow here.
Master beats novice.
Novice beats retard.
Retard beats master.

Is this the quality that 1 billion dollars buys this days? Talk about out of control inflation.

This used to only apply to government employees, but now YOU TOO can do nothing at work and not get fired.

Take cover!
I stand corrected
Wheel of Time was the best indicator this would suck
I've been huffing and yanking on my braid since.

Galbrush Threepwood, mighty pirate
Very helpful of the stuntmen to swing around her and never directly at her. Must be the power of whamen.
That's not even a good obviously-fake fight.
What in the Bollywood did I just sit through? I've seen literal gradeschool plays with more realistic acting.

Nice highschool movie project.
Oh wait.
I don't even bare to watch the clip.

Thank you. I've personally stopped posting nitter links on supremereaders posts, since he seems to love twitter.

She is the best at being obnoxious, that's for sure.

LOL
A white woman humiliating a man of color? I object!
