Malice or Stupidity?

Nah
The overwhelming majority of Americans have never actually seen or been told what an abortion is. If we poll kindergartners on what sex is like we would get just as accurate information. Then again they want to change that too.
If the wokies get their way the answer would boil down to a man in a dress molesting children.
If Roe actually represented the will of the majority, they would have made it an amendment and let everyone vote on it. Instead they pushed it through by purposefully misconstruing the constitution to say things that clearly were not there ("right to privacy" is nowhere in it).
Then they ignored every single March for Life while signal-boosting the much smaller and ironically less female "Women's" March. Theyve gaslit us for 50 years and wiil continue to do so until everyone stops listening to them.
This latest hysteria will go some way to accomplishing this, I think. More people are just wanting to be left alone and not be harangued every day by the White House and their media about how evil they are just for being born wrong or silenced by the mob for expressing the wrong opinions.
What? Don't you know that case law is determined by biased polls?
Exactly. The right needs to stop assuming that the left is stupid just because their ideas are stupid. Leftists are evil and don't care that their ideas are stupid.
The establishment is smart because they appeal to the millions of stupid people. Stupid people far outnumber anyone who's paying attention.
Their ideas are stupid but their tactics, manipulations, propaganda etc. are quite smart and effective.
You're right, from that perspective their ideas are a great success as well.
I never said that the left is stupid, just that their ideas are stupid. The right keeps losing due to stubbornness. Stuff like "we can't criticize corporations because of free market principles!" The right needs to recalibrate, drop losing strategies, and stop supporting old allies that have turned against them. But conservatives, by their very nature, are very resistant to change.
what have the conservatives conserved?
Theres a herd of buffalo. They're stampeding toward a cliff. You're the buffalo stuck in the middle of the pack. Let's see you convince the others to stop.
Now imagine there's a human behind the herd intentionally driving them to that cliff, catching the stragglers.
Smart doesn't always win just because smart.
"A person is smart, people are dumb, panicked creatures."
people always forget the "but don't rule out malice" part of that one saying
If it’s a one off event, we can attribute it to stupidity. If it’s been going on for decades or part of a larger plan then it’s malice.
I just find it funny that they immediately run to the democracy of “majority rule” the second they don’t get what they want. Tie that in with the massive lie that people support abortion when the overwhelming majority of Americans can’t name any of the methods of abortion. Funnily enough even abortion was considered draconian and savage by the ancient Greeks. They couldn’t find one factual statement aside from the leaked decision.
Is looking more and more like a lie every goddamn day.
Uh, I think it's pretty much the opposite of that.
https://www.history.com/news/8-reasons-it-wasnt-easy-being-spartan
All Spartan infants were brought before a council of inspectors and examined for physical defects, and those who weren’t up to standards were left to die.
You're talking about the Spartans. They were one city state in a sea of republican cities. And the rest of Greece fucking hated them. They were like an entirely different breed of people, who rarely accepted outsiders.
The only reason we even know anything about their customs is because of a single guy from Athens who happened to be friends with one of the kings
Anyway, the reason for those abortions was because every single Spartan citizen was considered a warrior, they were basically all assigned land and slaves by the government. It was probably a measure to ensure no shit genes since only Spartans were allowed to fight.
supposedly the one source we have on that is iirc what a guy from athens hundreds of years later wrote about it, might be wrong though
I wish my life was so comfortable and privileged that being told I'm not allowed to kill a baby seemed "draconian" to me. Imagine living a life so devoid of challenge that you stop maturing at the age of four.
Women are raised to worship themselves, men are raised to worship women.
Most americans think Roe is what makes abortion possibly legal, not something which forces states to allow it basically without limit.
This is made obvious by the fact that 70+% of americans think there should be limits on abortion which Roe makes illegal.
Ignorance, more than stupidity.
I don't care what polls say what. The general population as a whole is much further to the right than anyone realizes. The issue is that most of those people don't vote, or assume no one agrees with them.
The Leftists always get caught up in this too. They assume that their position is what the majority of the country wants (an extension of Rousseau's "General Will"). Most of the people voting are people who are already politically indoctrinated and motivated.
However, what always happens (both during the Liberal Revolutions of the mid 19th Century, the Interwar period, and the era of Stalinization) the Communists expand the vote wider and wider until it encompasses almost anyone who can breathe. At that point, they typically let their mask slip, and it becomes clear that this next vote is the vote that will usher in full true Socialism.
Then they lose the vote, and in the demographics they were sure they were going to win: the proletariat. Normally they have to either have the Soviet Union step in and remove the government, declare the election illegitimate and declare the dictatorship of the proletariat to be true democracy, or the Liberals end up wining a simple majority and the Communists spaz out, revolt, and get crushed by a Liberal/Industrialst/Miltarist allegiance.
This is because most typical Socialists refuse to understand that Marxism was explicitly proven false during WW1. That was supposed to be the end of Capitalism where the proletariat's false consciousness fell away. But both Lenin and Mussolini tried to explain to the Internationalist Socialists that: the proletariat was the most staunchly reactionary force of all. All other groups were far easier to subvert and control.
The only ones who half got the message were the Fabian Socialists who realized they could hijack Liberalism as a skin suit, pretend that Socialism wasn't Socialism, and then try to literally propagandize everyone into accepting it (and it still rarely works).
In the end, because of Leftist Inevitability Doctrine, the Left thinks that everyone does or will eventually agree with them. In reality, the majority of the population looks much more like this place than it does Reddit. They have no idea just how "far-right" the general population really is. They really want to ignore what the Black National Socialist and Islamists think.
A word of advice to propagandists: you probably want to avoid using words like "dead" and "alive" when discussing abortion if you're trying to distance the fact that the unborn are, in fact, living human beings.
Malice.
It is all malice at this point and anyone who says otherwise is an enemy or too stupid to be considered anything other than a threat.
Their hero, Ginsberg said Roe v Wade was a bad ruling.
Yes but that is because she wanted abortion legal explictly on the grounds of "gender equality" instead of a "right to privacy".
I mean its a more legally firm excuse, but stil a retarded one, since men cant give birth and women cant pee standing up the genders clearly are intrinsically unequal.
Laws aren’t based on popularity. Or they shouldn’t be. Also these people don’t understand that it just means that abortion will be handled by the state
Unfortunately Democracy is the bandwagon fallacy as a political system.
Which is why it always fails.
So its the Bechtel Test of Razors.
Why am I not surprised?
Embrace the power of “And”
The vast majority of Americans when actually asked for details agree much more closely with republican positions on abortions.
Leave it to them to complain about minority rule.
Their president "won" with 81 million votes which is about 24% of the USA's population.
Yes.
When it comes from the msm, both: malice and stupidity.
Why not both?
Correct! Ever hear of "the tyranny of the majority"? Ever read JS Mill? The Federalist Papers? Ever wonder why we got a democratic republic instead of a democracy? But then illiteracy seems to be a job qualification at the Washington Shitpost. They evidently hire J school graduates who never took Political Science 101 along with their gender studies courses. This idiot Waldman ought to read Greenwald's comments on the upcoming decision: https://archive.ph/xl8DV
Fucking Fascist left cannot live without the might of the fed behind it. Dementia Joe's Deep State Handlers (not the bluegrass quartet) are doing their best to extend federal power, but this is a great shot, and the midterms I predict will further weaken the left after the Ds lose more Congressional seats. Who knows, though, about the usual ineffectual corporate slavishness of the Rs?
Have you considered that maybe women don't represent the feelings of anyone but themselves?
Therefore their maximum support can only be 50%?
That's right, but I didn't want to imply they actually had a majority. We don't want them to know that.
It's the same political shit just one side or the other.
They want to demonstrate power over you by stopping you from doing things, pr for ing you to do them. Then they want to do this where pushing you around costs you a lot, and them nothing.
Lockdowns, abortion, same thing of them telling you you're not allowed to do it, but the cost you pay is your problem.
I’d argue a woman being unable to keep her legs shut and then wanting to murder the consequences is an even more severe public health issue.
