I just find it funny that they immediately run to the democracy of “majority rule” the second they don’t get what they want. Tie that in with the massive lie that people support abortion when the overwhelming majority of Americans can’t name any of the methods of abortion. Funnily enough even abortion was considered draconian and savage by the ancient Greeks. They couldn’t find one factual statement aside from the leaked decision.
Is looking more and more like a lie every goddamn day.
Uh, I think it's pretty much the opposite of that.

All Spartan infants were brought before a council of inspectors and examined for physical defects, and those who weren’t up to standards were left to die.
You're talking about the Spartans. They were one city state in a sea of republican cities. And the rest of Greece fucking hated them. They were like an entirely different breed of people, who rarely accepted outsiders.
The only reason we even know anything about their customs is because of a single guy from Athens who happened to be friends with one of the kings
Anyway, the reason for those abortions was because every single Spartan citizen was considered a warrior, they were basically all assigned land and slaves by the government. It was probably a measure to ensure no shit genes since only Spartans were allowed to fight.
supposedly the one source we have on that is iirc what a guy from athens hundreds of years later wrote about it, might be wrong though
