Eh it's not really desecration in this case. Real Loki in the myths was shape shifter that one time transformed into a mare, got fucked by another male horse and gave birth Sleipnir, Odin's horse as a result.

This one actually makes sense. Many evil characters can easily be gender fluid / woke.
My favorite is from the Powerpuff Girls, the devil character "Him". It's such a great character ahead of its time... a gender bending demon that sounds playful until he/she is not and then it's terrifying.
Also Griffith from Berserk. Hell, Satan has been described as being genderfluid many times, too. I wonder why that archetype keeps coming up?

I hate the gender fluid nonsense more than most, but in this case it actually might be somewhat correct given that he can, and does, change his material form in the comics. It’s one of the things his character is known for. I somehow doubt that’s why they’re doing this though.

He is a shapeshifter. They can drool over their stupid sex-swapping all they want, but Trickster figures have always been both shapeshifters and sex-changers, whether his name is Loki, Raven, Coyote, Br'er Rabbit, or Anansi, the Trickster is Eternal and Universal.
He was a kid at one point, then he somehow murdered himself by killing that kid for some reason due to a prophecy where he becomes one of the last big bads in the Marvel universe, something his adoptive mother took as good enough proof the future still existed that she locked him into the prophecy against his will as he was trying to reform at the time.
