I just wonder why the sudden change in narrative
Trump gets elected, war's over. They think Trump will be elected.
Once the war is over people start asking the real questions, like 'hey like who did blow up our pipeline?' Now if you ask those questions you're against Ukraine.
So they're trying to pre-answer the question with the 'right' answer. "Hey Germans don't protest American elites making you pay $0.50/kWh and push Germany into BRICs, stay with team globohomo!"
Sounds like it's a revolution. This is what happens with censorship and authoritarian regimes: things stay under control until shit gets so bad they can't be contained anymore.
Happens in real life, happens in subreddits. Can happen to reddit as a whole if the pendulum swings back hard enough.
It's not that hard. In cmd.exe:
yt-dlp.exe -f m4a http://theURL
Since youtube has versions with just the audio.
If you get ffmpeg.exe and ffprobe.exe (separate download bc patents) and put them in the same folder you can just do "yt-dpl.exe -x URL" to download a video and extract the audio. It can even use sponsorblock to remove ad segments, but that's a little harder.
Incidentally this is why 2-party winner take all voting is best, because the vast majority of people are immune to facts and reason, and will vote the same way they've always voted.
You can only reach a few percent of people, so in a coalition multi-party system the government can only move slightly to the left/right and make minor corrections (a few percent more left will make a slightly more left coalition), whereas in 2-party a few percent can make substantial course corrections.
These larger changes let the frog know the water is getting hot before it's too late to do anything about it.
For those that made the mistake of watching that clip.
Out of 10,000 polls you'd still only have a 5% chance of being called, so not being called is is not a good reason to discount them.
Pollsters can correct for respondent bias if they want to.
Richard Baris aka People's Pundit's Big Data Poll does all kinds of bias corrections and factors in "untouchable" things like voting/responding behavior among demographics. Most accurate poll for the last decade, paid for in large part by grassroots donations. Completely blacklisted by all mainstream news.
Fivethirtyeight has a big list evaluating 277 pollsters without even mentioning Big Data Poll. RCP excludes it from their average. You'll only find it on Epoch Times because none of the establishment groups want you to see a real poll result.
but how exactly is it that these two are the left's best option?
How has nobody said the obvious: because Trump.
You're asking why somebody competent doesn't stand in front of a freight train or wrestle a bear; it's because they're not an idiot. Only an idiot would run against Trump '24 - and that's what we got.
The politically savvy Democrats see a Trump that's dodged insults, impeachment, indictment, and being shot in the face and say how can I top that? They doubt even having the entire media fluffing them is enough.
after raising their arms in an X as a symbol of solidarity with people who were living through oppression of any kind.
Oh those poor emacs users that have to use vi when they fix a server remotely over ssh.
At least they can take comfort in the "Hulk" fighting for them.
as Einstein the only guy in the history of the world that could've discovered general relativity?
Poincare's "relativity principle" and Lorentz's transformation from one "local time" to another predated Einstein. Relativity was already discovered before the "theory of relativity".
Basically Einstein just sexed it up a bit. Like how Turing gets credit for the "universal computer" even though Church's lambda calculus is earlier and more useful - but Turing's Machine was an easier sell to the populace and he was pushed by special groups (the British and the gays), just like Einstein.
Pangea was like 200 million years ago. When dinosaurs roamed the land.
Oldest hominid found is a few million years ago and they were well different from modern people.
That would be a really huge gap in the record for humans to have spread out on the supercontinent and then stayed interbreedable for a couple hundred millions of years. Hollow Earth is more believable than that.
Like with everything else, Trump being elected is a pivotal moment that broke their minds.
Before ~2015 wikipedia was left-leaning, but neutral in tone; "just the facts", but without some "problematic" facts. After for sure 2016 they dropped the neutral tone and now it's only the negative facts about non-lefties and the writing uses emotional tones.
So there was a huge shift around that time.
Compare after-announcing Trump 2015 to Current Trump. In the very long 2015 article there's nothing negative outside the short Controversies section at the very end (the only purposeful negative is listing bankruptcies without mentioning total number of businesses). The current one there is nothing positive anywhere in the article. For instance securing financing for black colleges and black unemployment isn't even mentioned at all - because they're a positive for him.
I don't think I've ever read Trump's wikipedia before but it's actually sickening to see the difference between these two. I knew wikipedia was bad now, but I hadn't realized it was this bad.
Bats can bite you without you knowing and give you rabies, so I went in ready to be charitable.
We isolated the bat in our bedroom, making sure it couldn’t get upstairs where our daughters sleep, but it escaped through the door to the porch. ... next
...they off-hours called the doctor, animal control, then got rabies shots for more than $600.
This is embarrassing at every level. This woman should have been too ashamed to tell people this story and has made herself look like a nervous nelly and her husband a coward.
And the worst part: "this happened to us before, about five years ago", which means they weren't always a lost cause; clearly they let covid mania break their minds and they were no doubt complicit in their own fall.
I'm going to say he called them idiots.
Installed a gnome distro VM a while back to do something and to launch a program you move the mouse to the upper left then back down to the bottom center.
That's like some kind of UI hate crime. Commodore Amiga had a better UI than this Gnome trash.
edit: he called out Gnome for hiring a self-proclaimed professional shaman as Executive Director.
What Kyle Rittenhouse Tweets won't win or lose any election for anyone. It's not that big of a deal.
Have you heard of a death by a thousand cuts?
This attitude of letting minor slights pass is what got us to woke bullshit.
Kyle needed to be taken back behind the woodshed, he was, and then he was sorry. Not because it was a big deal, but because it wasn't.
Saying you don't trust the security sounds weak; going back to Butler PA is a power move.
Trump will use being shot where it's most effective, in Pennsylvania. When he goes back there the assassination attempt will be all over the local news, but if he's saying 'oh no I was shot poor me' all the time it will turn whiny.
The two-party US system is not normally a problem of choosing between two candidates, because the multiple choice part happens in the primary.
In the general election you're reaffirming your support for your party's candidate as you've already made your choice. It's only the non-committed people mostly in the center who chose to only select from two candidates that have only two choices.
Of course this time the Democrat party failed to use a primary of many candidates to select their nominee.
Normal person joining Scientology is like you walking up to the Italian Mob and asking to pay them protection money; unless you're targeted by the Irish Mob you're better off staying off anyone's radar.
They do a lot of fucked up stuff apparently, but not nearly as much as the Tribe does.
Staying out of foreign wars is why they'll remove him. If you hadn't noticed, they're desperate to keep laundering money through Ukraine (and killing white people on both sides).
Of course the actual reason given in the impeachment will be something else. I'd bet on an AI Trump saying sounds-like 'vinegar' and being removed because 'America can't have a racist President'.
It wasn't an impossible task, they just made the stupid mistake of going to South America in this expansion (and then later to North America for the technology part).
There's llamas and hot peppers and pyramids. That's it. There's no interesting story to tell - maybe there was, but if so it was lost to history when the empires fell. It's a boring continent, with shitty pan-flute music.
They have so much IP they could draw on for a new story, for instance going to Spira and fighting Sin or something like that.
Reporters in mass media were about 1/4th conservative in 2015. Now they are under 4% - including Fox News, Breitbart, etc.
Know people who say they're informed because they get news from WaPo, The Atlantic, NPR/PBS, Rolling Stone, the nightly news, etc and I try to tell them that all those are the same now.
They're getting their news from one source.
More like triple AIDS.
