F2P games make their money on volume. 1,000 download a game, 1 person pays. Different types of games have different relationships with volume.
A hypercasual game with very low monetization might take $.02 for each person marketing gets to install it in India. Meanwhile a high barrier to entry game might cost $5 for each person it gets to install in the USA. And for AAA games, the cost/value of marketing is pretty close to expected return ( >$10 per).
In theory, a $0.20 Unity install price would increase the cost of a AAA game by .003%, but it would increase the cost to roll out a gatcha game in India by 1,000%. This would completely kill Unity for mobile instantly, so they're going with something else for these cases.
I'm in the industry and this is retarded.
I can see the logic behind it though. It seems like they don't trust the developers to actually pay them, because they don't have any way to see real financial numbers numbers from all the platforms the games might be on. So instead, they're going to tax what they can see, because they can make their engine phone home.
IMO they're going to destroy their own market share with this move, but clearly they think otherwise. Or they think the loss of market share will be made up for by getting paid more.
It's something women believe they want, but don't actually want.
Women want a man who is emotionally open, then drops him when his tears make her pussy dry up. Women want a man who texts her 10 times a day, then gets the ick when he actually does it. Women want a man who will always be faithful, then only goes after or responds to men who can get tons of hoes and easily cheat on her.
Stated preferences vs revealed preferences.
If you go back far enough (and 1800s in far enough), group beds were common. Furniture is expensive to make and heat costs a lot of time or effort.
Families would all share beds, a handful of sleepers each. Hotels would expect strangers who didn't know each other stay in the same bed. It was normal because it means less shit to make and more heat to share. Nothing gay about it back then.
Women can also multiple orgasm, and some have an order of magnitude more orgasms than men.
I don't see them trying to do anything about lowering the total sex orgasm numbers of women to get them in line with men.
Like most feminism, they only care about raising the one dimension that women are lagging, and completely ignore the dimensions where women are ahead.
The anime remakes are actually good. In most cases they tend to be better than the original.
I've been watching anime for a quarter century and IMO it's the best time for anime yet. Anime still produces trash (eg, the isekai this season), but I think the average quality of all shows continues to improve every season and studios still occasionally release masterpieces.
Wow, some ancient anime is getting repped here. I still like Bebop and FMA:B has enough quality that it more than stands up to time, but some of these anime people are mentioning are older than them. The shows they like are AoT and Vinland, are both still ongoing anime. So, IMO I'd keep my reps to stuff that is at least decently contemporary.
Kaguya Love is War - Even while still ongoing (3 seasons though), it's probably the best anime RomCom ever made. It's age appropriate and decently aware to the realities of dating while not being degenerate. I can also recommend the manga.
Fruits Basket - The original was one of the biggest Shojo (girls) anime of all time, and the remake in 2019 was improved in every way.
Violet Evergarden - Same reason others have mentioned
Mob Psycho 100 - Coming of age story and is completed. More of a 'boy' audience but it's got some universal beats and so are Vinland/AoT.
Spy x Family - Wholesome and had one of the highest female watch % of it's season. Although girls their age might not be interested in it because some parts have the appearance of being childish.
For movies, I'd recommend the Makoto Shinkai films. Aside from being gorgeous and what many consider the best anime films of all time, I think they'll hit with your nieces thematically. His biggest movies have feminine female main characters of an age the girls can identify with, who are strong characters without being masculine. Your Name (Kimi no na wa) I would recommend to them above any other film. Weathering with You is also good and more romance. Suzume, the most recent, I haven't seen yet but it's got similarly high reviews.
Controversial opinion here, but I don't think the 8th film would have been much better received even with those changes.
Nothing in the entire 8th film movie makes sense. You touch on the Luke plotline, but nothing else in the story makes sense or even has object permanence. The entire story is just pretty scenes put together without any though on plot, consistency, or even relevance to the story. Viewers would have still caught on that it was a giant pile of shit.
It does diminish. The vaccine infects cells, then the infected cells keep pumping out spike proteins until those cells die. Those spike proteins train the immune system, which remembers how to fight them theoretically forever, but in practice the training is shitty and also doesn't last forever.
The amount they pump out diminishes with time, but it diminishes for everyone even if each persons rate of cell replacement is different. It's supposed to happen in a couple of months, but it's a spectrum and in some people we've seen them pump them out for a year+.
But basically everyone will be clear within a few years and if you make it past the first year, your cells aren't significantly compromised anymore. You've still got a shitty trained immune system, but you won't keep shedding spikes or worsening your immune system.
You've suffered whatever damage dealt from the spike proteins (eg, to the heart), but you aren't taking any more damage.
It's population growth. Or more specifically population growth 50-60 years ago, since this measures deaths.
The numbers aren't per capita, so having the baby boomers reach retirement age would always naturally see some increase. But the deaths we're seeing is way more than that.
Optimistically, they just need to get the install data eventually so they might just have it phone home periodically and then charge based on total unique fingerprints they get back, because 99.9% of players are bound to connect to the internet at some time.
Pessimistically, yeah probably. Or an online requirement the 1st time you play.
