That's why it's so useful. I've seen some anti-KF sentiment on this site, but their willingness to go after Faggit troons makes them useful to us whatever their faults.
Put a little more succinctly, KF has an official ingrained culture of "not touching the cow" (ie. Look, laugh and document, but don't directly interact with the target or perform any gayops).
KF gets falsely accused of being responsible for all sorts of fallout, but at its heart, it's just a gossip forum for autists.
Of course being an unorganized anonymous forum, individual spergs may go off the reservation and break these rules as individual actors. But the community self-polices pretty hard. Anyone who goes too far is immediately singled out, shamed and often tossed out.
The only real, actual problem with kiwifarms is the natural lack of ability to enforce any part of that culture on their rogues. Yes, they say don't touch the poop. And out of 200 people who might latch onto a particular lolcow, 195 of them will follow that tenet. Its the 5 who don't who keep getting the site in the news, so to speak. This is fair to address because frankly the farms as a whole have no power to do fuckall about it or even monitor it, so they're not to blame for it. But it does happen.
There's also a matter of the times the community will attempt to create a lolcow instead of just finding and observing one. They single out someone who appears like they might be eccentric and start stalking them, which is really off-putting to a normal person. The normal person freaks out about it and KF builds a huge strawman out of them and starts making fun of that, which confuses and upsets the real person, which the kiwis take as "proof" that the person was a lolcow all along. It doesn't seem to happen as often as it used to, but its a really dirty thing that happened quite often in the past.
Last I heard, they put in a tranny mod "as a joke" then kept him there and the place started getting converged into the same shit as the rest of the internet.
A lot of the stuff people have problems with Steven Crowder for is also on the farms too, and I just saw the stuff about NW, I mean, meh, I wouldn’t say 'puppet' but I get your point.
Oh I'm sure those who've been targeting/ddosing it already have any number of avenues where they keep tabs on the site. It's not exactly like Null's been sending new url's over the last year or two through self-destructing envelopes.
