Personally I'm enjoying seeing who is only in the fight because they thought they could profit from it, rather than actually having something they believe in to defend.

Remind me what's happening to TikTok again? All that degeneracy, and suddenly as soon as zoomers start talking about how they don't like Israel bombing the ever-living fuck out of a bunch of impoverished natives...

How does climate change interact with a decline of democracy? Maybe because people are sick to the gills of being constantly gaslit while you rob them at metaphorical gunpoint.

The whole point of this exercise is to make the entire globe abandon their roots and seek a foreign power to solve their problems, laying the groundwork to implement a global government once nobody has any connection to their communities anymore. MKUltra as all about figuring out how to break people's loyalties, and now here we are.

I mean, that was a very distinct possibility since they're playing both sides of the public discourse while people keep imagining it as right vs left. They don't care which of the two artificial political pillars they've built is responsible, only that they succeed in provoking the resistance to create a new empire for them to usurp, since they're too intellectually and morally bankrupt to actually create anything themselves, and can only take what other people make.

Reminds me a lot about that movie where people were locked in their homes because of a pandemic, which got a lot of press from the trailer then was never heard of again.

the same as social media

So... not at all?

That's pretty gay.

A woman demanding that a man must use certain technology as a condition of their relationship? Sounds suspiciously similar to how Gilgamesh lured Enkidu to him.

I'm just super uninterested in country shopping, despite it's abundant popularity these days. Sure things suck here right now, but that's exactly why we need good people more than ever. I'd actually really like to go to Japan for entirely unrelated reasons, but I'm specifically avoiding that at the moment because of the current situation here.

The natural world is abundant with variety. This creates problems for those who wish to standardize things to facilitate automation. Thus, those who can't easily be clearly defined and categorized are treated with hostility.

Surely someone who thinks like that must want a separate space to exist where all these assholes they don't like can congregate to do their own thing, away from the decent spaces where good upstanding adults spend their leisure time... right?

No, they actually can't stand anything that hasn't been sanitized for corporate commodification because the very existence of such things shines a light on just how shallow and hollow their products are.

Curious how they would define an “extremist” anyway.

People who aren't interested in their totes-amazeballs new virtual utopia.

Bingo. They specifically avoid addressing the actual root of the problems because they're using the problems as a tool to push the grossly unpopular solutions they actually wanted all along.

Do you actually think he is the only one who posts on his social media accounts?

One of the biggest reasons that social media has been designed the way it has is to facilitate putting on a false face for the public.

Nah man, it's pretty obvious that it's a mockery of trans people. The whole problem with the trans 'movement' is that it's really shitty to attempt to deceive/coerce/force people to be involved in something they don't agree with. The devs here have done the exact same thing, unfortunately.

ngl but 'leftist' is one of the dumbest new words that's become popular recently.

They can't afford another Brexit.

Oh hey, turns out that people don't actually want to be "global citizens" if it means abandoning their native cultures.

I like how they straight up adopted the NPC meme whole cloth.

Deception/corruption fetish. They imagine that their deceptions pervert and destroy people's ability to perceive the real world, and they get off on the feeling of sexual power that elicits. It's the same sort of high that rapists get, but in a mental space instead of physical.

Pretty much this. I've tried watching it through a couple times, and it is genuinely enjoyable with likeable characters and some interesting plots, but it does go downhill to the point that it's just not very fun anymore. It feels like they were starting to experiment with grand narratives, but were still stuck in the serialized mindset of the older series, and never really hit a good balance between the two. Over all I'd certainly recommend watching it for as long as you enjoy it.

like the Dragon Ball Z Dub vs original. The Dub is what’s popular and generally what made the franchise what it is and what it became.

There are a few things that played into that though, which have nothing to do with translation. Probably the biggest factor is the absolutely phenomenal soundtrack that Bruce Faulconer composed for it, vastly surpassing the original Japanese score. Then, the voice acting for the dub was uncommonly superb, especially in an era where English voice acting was typically terrible. The last major issue I can think of is that it was popular before the Internet was, so most people like myself only had access to the dubbed version, either by watching it on TV or buying the VHS.

Reminds me of something I heard from a Japanese artist who did some work in Hollywood. They talked about how in Japan things were largely left up to the artist to create their own works, with some guidance, but when he worked with Hollywood the execs would constantly be asking for this or that minor detail to be changed for their own reasons.

Yea man, that's totally what I said. @@ By your logic there, why would I support people like you, who shit on me because I ask questions about things instead of toeing the line blindly for random strangers online?

I barely even play games anymore personally. Was just answering the question ger111 posed.
