Trudeau announced $8.4 million in spending to "better understand how climate change interacts with democratic decline." Trudeau also noted that Canada has seen decreased trust in both government and media. (twitter.com)

Introduces laws to restrict speech, actively silences opponents by targeting their bank accounts, has what are essentially 're education courses' for those outspoken and heavily promotes a euthanasia program

Trudeau:"why don't the people trust us anymore?"

I still say let the polar bears have dominion over Canada..

It's even better than that.

First, they do all those things, tank the people's happiness and trust, yadda yadda yadda. Then, they allocate 84 fucking million - to "study that loss in happiness/trust" - to their grifter friends who got worthless (worthless until their allies in government allocate endless taxpayer dollars to "studies" like this...) degrees in studying this bullshit.

It's simply unreal what the left is getting away with (not just up there in Canada, but in every western country) at this point. They have a massive system - composed of radical ideologues in education, media (traditional and tech), entertainment, and government - set up to create new indoctrinates of the public; they use those people they have indoctrinated to keep them in power, and keep their nonsense bills/edicts passing; when those bills destroy the economy/society, they take even more taxpayer money, and kick it down to more of their ilk, to "study" how badly they've fucked everything up; that money being spent to study this creates artificial demand for more (actually useless, but now suddenly in demand) degree holders in this garbage; people chase that money, and willingly get further indoctrinated while getting those degrees?

What the left has been up to is nothing short of the largest, most destructive grift ever perpetuated on mankind. I don't see how anything short of widespread violence is ever going to force them out. They've entrenched themselves to an incredible degree, and their total lack of morals allows them to use the power of the positions they've entrenched themselves in, to do so even more thoroughly. You will never get these people out of power any other way. Even a "miracle" of voting through a psycho like Trump (a psycho in that the guy was willing to watch himself be absolutely destroyed by putting himself out there to fight these people) did absolutely nothing.

Goddamn. Someone say something nice, and explain to me how I'm all wrong, and things are going to be ok. Even if it's a lie, I feel like I need to hear it.

I'm covering the polar bears with armour as we speak...

Hey, they constantly tell me I'm a white supremacist because I want border control, they never specified WHICH whites I'd be supporting..

The carbon tax is killing people's wallets.

The spending habits of the government is breaking Canadians.

I spend according to my own bill, about 35 dollars in natural gas to keep a modest house at 68 degrees in the winter.

Carbon tax is 28 dollars. Delivery to the house is 12 dollars, gas storage fees are 40 dollars, other assorted bullshit fees and tax on top of that is 29 dollars.

So I used 35 dollars of fuel, but the bill is 144. I know you're thinking, wow, your house must have zero insulation, or bad siding/roof/windows. They're all new thanks to a tornado back in 2019. Less than 5 years old.

I am so glad I only have the one thing that needs natural gas, and that I don't keep the house very warm. Everything else is electric, and I'm thinking of a small wood stove, centrally located next year so I can use the heating as an emergency if I have to, and a wood stove for the rest of it.

They'll ban wood stoves next.

I've had a few people show me their natural gas bills triple suddenly this month with breakdowns very similar to yours.

Less than 30 dollars worth of actual gas used, gross totals suddenly around 250 bucks.

Something fucky seems to have happened between the upcoming carbon tax increase and wonky spikes in annualized algos to smooth out monthly billing.

You'd need great ventilation for a wood stove, or it might be dangerous to your health.

Hmm... Dear Leader gives 8.4 million bucks to his close friend to, ostensibly, find out why people have less faith in the democratic process when he raises taxes by 8.4 million bucks on gas.

It is a mystery, we may never know.

How does climate change interact with a decline of democracy? Maybe because people are sick to the gills of being constantly gaslit while you rob them at metaphorical gunpoint.

It is more malevolent than waste. Because this will be used as an excuse to oppress the population even more. If they had just burned the money, it would not be as bad for Canadians.

Doesn't he need to pass this through a vote before he's allowed to waste so much money to achieve nothing?

That cowardly faggot who abandoned the capital the moment the citizens he claims to represent let their discontent known in person, the entirely peaceful protesters that he refused to even talk to before using the police to attack and trample them, is now asking about why people don't respect him or his government. Go fuck yourself, Trudeau. You should have resigned in shame by now, if not been sent to jail for what everyone knows to have been an unlawful usage of martial law.

Here's how: 'climate change' is an excuse for the elites to ignore the population (even more) and to stomp on people's heads with their boots even harder.

Thanks for the 8.4 million.

It's simply unreal to me how much my (the average American's?) vision of Canada has changed since I was young. When I grew up, I think everyone thought of Canada as this cold, hard place, where there were lots of rough guys wearing flannel, who were lumberjacks and shit. Things could literally not be further from the truth at this point.

The country has totally and completely been taken over by the radical shitbag left. It must really suck to be one of the older style Canadians from my youth, who has had to sit by and watch their country be totally taken over.

Make no mistake, there is the definite feeling that it's happening down here, as well.

I don't know where you got the image of lumberjacks from. Maybe it was the constant castigation of us for "clinging to our guns", or their smug satisfaction from announcing that they are Canadian to anyone who would listen as they traveled overseas during the war in Iraq that left a bad taste in my mouth, but they have always struck me as a bunch of teacher's pet weasels.

More than anything, they want to be loved by Europe and the media for "being nice". As such, it doesn't surprise me a bit that they handed over their country to a bunch of communists without a single complaint. I was surprised when a few of them finally made a bit of a stir during the trucker's protest a few years ago. But then they just rolled over and surrendered as soon as they met any resistance, which didn't surprise me at all.
