People watching a film in a HoMe ThEaTeR or worse, a phone or computer screen, are shooting themselves in the foot.
I do not find this to be the case. The size of the screen I watch a film on has absolutely no correlation to the emotional impact the story has on me or how vividly I can recall it afterwards. I think fundamentally the story occurs in your mind anyway and my imagination will always place me in the scene and fill in the blanks whether I’m watching on a phone or IMAX. I feel so jaded about movies these days anyway I barely watch any “fiction”; after a lifetime of being exposed to tropes I’m never surprised by anything that happens. If I watch a trailer and then read the wiki spoiler I feel like I’ve “seen” the movie.
Honestly junior high was the worst three years of my life, and I would be a totally different person today if some of the things that happened to me there had never happened to me. Not to get too emo or anything but you could make an argument that what happened to me in junior high ruined my life. I would’ve never made 13 year old me go back to that school after I was knocked unconscious with a kick to the face but I guess that option never occurred to my stay-at-home mom. 🤷🏻
I’m not regularly exposed to pop music (not that I hate it, I just never turn the radio on) but as a guitar enthusiast I find there’s tons of awesome music coming out. https://youtu.be/0GdXNaMos_w
These people are their own worst enemies. Any ignorant and unbiased bystander will reflexively side with the people not acting like total lunatics. I never would have thought that the religious people and the pro-lifers would be the comparatively cool and hip cohort when I was younger.
We were warned over and over again of looming consequences that were scheduled to occur already that haven’t happened. I don’t even give a fuck any more if the climate IS changing due to human activity. Even if the doomsday scenarios are correct, all it will mean is massive migration to northern climates which is happening anyway (4+ million immigrants coming into my country in the next four years in the middle of a housing shortage and health care “crisis”). People (including my former self) think that humans need to be sacrificed to protect the blissful Disney utopia that “nature” is. Fuck that; “Mother Nature” has been trying to kill us since the beginning and I’m on team human. The only real way to reduce emissions anyway would be to do things the parasitic overlords would never do anyway (repatriating manufacturing and minimizing overseas shipping).
I just get a sign saying “this video is not available”
