Funny how that 1st sentence would also accurately describe Nazi Germany.
They just learning from their shameful past of 1930s.
We learn from history so that we can try to avoid repeating the mistakes we have already made. And no history is shameful, it is a part of being human that we make mistakes and those mistakes make us grow.
It's not the past that is shameful but your unwillingness to grow from it.
I'm also in the camp of not drinking or smoking (I also don't drink coffee but I suspect that one is less common)
Tried each once and decided not for me. Though I will drink the new years glass with the family, don't want to spoil the tradition.
Hopefully if we forced legislators to vote in a similar way to guilty/not guilty where the No is a lot more broad we could blur the lines enough that it would be harder to pressure people into a yes vote.
If a No vote can mean anything from "I don't agree with the policy" to "I have misgivings about how x paragraph is written" it would become far more unclear what a person voting No is actually saying.
This is probably too much into wishful thinking territory but I would like to see how it would play out in that kind of system. And if we lose some politicians along the way even better, at least around here (seriously 230 leeches for a country the size of Portugal is insane)
In most cases I would agree but not when it comes to people who are in positions where discussing and voting is their job.
In such cases I believe you should be forced to vote. Either yes if you agree with the document or no of you object to it (of it requires further discussion or you are outright against it wouldn't matter in the voting stage they would both be No votes)
Though I'm curious of you have an example, closest I can come up with is lack of knowledge on the subject matter to vote. But at the same time these things tend to be quite lengthy processes so they should have the time to seek out expert opinions and read up on subjects.
I've said this before (but relating to my own government) but any member of a parliament (or equivalent) that abstains from a vote should be instantly removed from their position.
Tired of these people with government paid positions that do nothing and get paid nice amounts and receive extreme benefits yet don't even do the simple task of voting yes or no
I used to watch it. But just how samey it starts to get as well as a few things they sweeper under the run back in the day (Chris Benoit).
I can only take the watch the person we designated as a good guy beat the oh so evil dude until they pull a sneaky until the pay per view event that actually moves things along and that you won't get to see.
So what ? Should we just hide from every opinion we find distasteful ? I'd rather no one be banned for any opinion. Laugh at them, downvotes them, argue with them if you think it's worth it.
Never make the mistake of ignoring those that have views counter to your own or you might just get fucked when they resurface with new found strength.
Surprise is a powerful tool, never give it away freely to your opposition.
Reminds me of a spy talking about how just flipping your clothes inside out, messing up your hair, changing your posture and so on, can make your tail lose you for long enough to give them the slip.
You see the dude shaved his moustache so he looks like a different person.....if you only look at it for less than a second but still
Ye I don't believe it either but it has become so accepted that I think they could get away with it.
Wait a second! Hold the phone! Pull the brakes! And hold your horses!
Is that a fucking moustache ot a hairy caterpillar? I want to say caterpillar since how fucking lazy does one have to be to not shove a porn stache from your necromorph of a face. You already took the time to look like an abomination that makes kids want to kill themselves but you couldn't remove that horrible thing on your upper lip ?
The most hilarious part is they could have easily just swapped. You are the black slave trying to become a samurai for Oda Nobunaga and kunoichis were a things (though mostly seducers than sneaky peeps but people don't need to know that part).
Shame supreme leader Biden wasn't there at the time to revoke his blackness, all they had was Obama at the time.
Maybe having never seen a black person the Japanese guards assume he had a terrible accident and so look away to be polite so the black dude is the journalist difficulty.
As an atheist I see no problem with the terms set out, maybe I'd add a clause to 6 for the possibility of not being able to find a paying job, then I remember that this is the US so you probably don't need to spend 20 years as an unpaid interns to start getting minimum wage
Well the jews really do love their persecution complex which causes them to try and fuck everyone else which then leads to them being persecuted thus entering into an endless cycle.
I guess if poor old Ben here is....Lucky? enough he might just catch the next time jews are getting persecuted
Hey infinite work. Now if we just find a way that the expenses can be covered we can generate infinite money.
Oh I know, we wait for the crimes to escalate to murder then send unpaid interns as bait, and profit. Imagine the rating, every Saturday night a live sacrifice of an intern to the hungry god of progress.
Damn it, he worded it well enough that I can't even make a joke. Improvements ? Well I guess if millions of dead over petty squabbles is his idea of an improvement, or the collapse of any sort of advancement with a side of dark ages, is that an improvement ?
Someone should really tell Mr Obama that woman lack the disposition to be good leaders, it is rare the one that is and you would be hard pressed to fill a room with them much less the government of every nation.
Though the inevitable collapse due to infighting over petty squabbles would be somewhat entertaining
So can he counter sue for not just rent and utilities but all kinds of goods ? If she was paid for housework then that would make her the maid and as such anything she has bought with his money belongs to him, say the clothes she is wearing, maybe her phone, how much food she ate and all manner of different things.
Surely if we want a fair system that would be the case......RIGHT?
My guess would be that her parents fucked her mind up so royally that she genuinely believes whatever they tell her about climate doom and destruction even when it makes no sense.
She also probably doesn't remember the dates for stuff like this so she won't notice that the world should have ended but instead that it will end sometime soon™
If it's a time sink that isn't enjoyable then I simply don't count it.
A game needs to have fun and engaging gameplay. If the gameplay is a mindless grind then I'd rather play something else.
My standard has always been 1€ per 2 hours (not counting cutscenes). However that initial price is taken on faith that a game will deliver those hours.
The more you ask as an initial investment the more people will have to search for alternative methods of finding out if a game has the content to warrant the price, and since most games are hands-on experiences....well
The grocery store where I live has 0 security (beyond probably having break in alarms)
There is nothing locked away, there isn't a machine at the exit that beeps of you steal, no guns behind the counter, some of their stuff is outside and could be stolen if you're just sneaky enough.
I'm not even sure if they have surveillance and yet I've never heard of them having been stolen from.
There have been times when people ask to come around later to pay for stuff they pick-up, usually when change isn't available.
I'll let you guess the local demographic based solely on that.
Like the America's army game with the tests before you could use certain stuff ?
"Identify the pink haired whale in these 10 slides and answer these questions to unlock rainbow camo, soldier!"
I've never taken or been near a person on chemo but don't people tend to get symptoms that would make riding a bike incredibly difficult ?
As far as I know you're supposed to get someone else to take you to and from just to be safe.
Also climate change is such a long-standing political lie based on real issues that I'm still surprised it lasted this long. Then again so does the "increase minimum wage->inflation->repeat" cycle
Currently jumping between Wo Long, bannerlord and crusader kings while waiting for the newest Star Citizen patch to get polished a bit to jump back in.
Also been trying a few diablo style action RPGs but I hate controlling movement with the mouse.
