Hah! I'm just biased from my experience - among all the friends I've had, the number of single women I've met through them is, well... zero. So it goes.

Whoever said that is an idiot.

I picked up the first book a long, long time ago, read through it, and then promptly tossed it aside and forgot about it. The entire thing read as if it was some sort of paint-by-numbers sci-fi series with nothing really new or creative about it.

Imagine my surprise years later when normies decide to go apeshit over it in television form...

Come to think, I did the same thing with GoT - picked up the first book, read through it, then tossed it aside. Huh.

Pretty much, yes, I agree. 'You have to know women to meet women' is, while frustrating, a sad fact of life when it comes to dating and social circles.

It's just, I've never made the connection of 'Hey, maybe men getting married has an add-on effect of organically introducing women into their social circles, and men not getting married has cascading effects larger than we realize'.

Sort of like a social entropic cascade kind of deal.

Just a little bit.

And yes, the article in question does have sources, oddly enough. This article (From Salon, of all places!) goes more into direct references detailing child prostitutes;

Indeed, the sheer variety of odd sexual tastes Gordon documents in "Voluptuous Panic" is astonishing. For instance, Gordon identifies 16 different types of prostitutes, including "telephone girls," enormously expensive child prostitutes ages 12-17 labeled "Marlene Dietrichs" or "Lillian Harveys" according to their physical attributes. These girls could be ordered by phone and delivered by taxi to the client. There were also so-called minettes, who acted out S/M fantasies, and "demi-castors" (French slang for "half-beavers"), young women from good families who made extra cash by hooking part time.

...so, uh, yeah. Recent years have seen people comparing modern times to the Weimar era, and there's a very good fucking reason for it.

Of course, they try to deny just that;

But if "Voluptuous Panic" enhances Weimar Berlin's reputation as a 20th century Sodom and Gomorrah unlike any other, its author does take issue with the popular notion that the era's dissolution led inevitably to the rise of the Nazis and Hitler's appointment as Reichschancellor in 1933.

"The reality is that Hitler came to power for all kinds of magical reasons. Hitler's nationalist partners brought Hitler into government to humiliate the Nazis and prove they couldn't govern, and the opposite happened. If you look at the week-by-week or day-by-day description of how the Nazis came to power, it had nothing at all to do with the social life of Berlin. It had to do with all these economic factors and political maneuverings that even the Nazis couldn't foresee," Gordon says.

"It was important to me to disprove this idea that decadence leads to fascism."

Hah. Color me fucking skeptical.

This is the sucky part of scrounging up references; a part of me wants this book just for offline archival/historical purposes, but holy hell would I probably get put on a watch list for ordering the damn thing.

I'm kind of skeptical. Not because of HR, but because every women I stumble across when working is either not single, engaged, or married.

Single women on the ground nowadays is very fucking sparse, and seemingly impossible to come across organically. For me, atleast.

...you know, thinking on the matter, this might be part of a cascade effect. More single men not getting married mean less opportunity for the still single men of their group to encounter single women.

The reason I say this is because the only time I have stumbled across single women, it was because of the wife of a good friend of mine. I've met more single women because of her than I ever have because of my friends group, and I've known them alot longer than I've known her.

Huh. I wonder if anyone else has experience similar.

You have two options.

(This applies to anyone else having to deal with various power-plays in large businesses, just as an FYI.)

One, become so critically knowledgeable and indispensable that it is literally impossible to fire you. I've actually seen this done before - a guy I knew and worked with every day(not at the same business, but a business I had to deal with) who got fired in the morning(saw him at lunch and learned the story) and was back at work the next day. His company fucking hated him, but he was too good at his job and knew where all the bodies were buried, so they couldn't get rid of him.

Second, fight fire with fire. Though probably not in the way you're thinking.

DIE and HR basically runs off of tribal and ethnic nepotism. Politics. Old school politics - you get the job not off of wether you can do it or not but who you know. HR and DIE are pure, distilled version of this - they hire people cause they're women or black or indian and everything goes straight to shit, because these people are utterly fucking incompetent, but they are of the tribe and so can do no wrong.

So, do similar. Get to know the guys in power. Buddy buddy up to them. Get to work exchanging favors, go behind HRs back and find the real levers of power. Network the shit out of people. Go out drinking, go to the family BBQs, so on and so forth.

Is it distasteful? Yeah, kinda. Can everyone do it? Fuck, no. I sure can't. But I've seen it work, so I can't fault the results, as much as I hate it otherwise.

If you can't do the above... well, start saving up 'fuck you money', always have an exit strategy, and be prepared to pop smoke and GTFO once the lynch mob starts hungering for blood.

Oh, and never, ever apologize.

I'd say your theory is spot-on.

The one time in my office we had a temp-worker come in whom was unobjectively attractive, and ever other woman in the office lost their goddamn minds.

Moreso than normal, that is.

The kicker was, she wasn't even that pretty. She looked good, yeah, and could actually rock it with skin-tight jeans, but she wasn't going for obvious sex appeal or the like. She just looked good and dressed well, and all the other older and/or fat women couldn't fucking stand it.

I really isn't new. I've been seeing water-brained leftists drooling on about how we're just one bad day from turning into a Facist Christian Theocracy, so Christians are clearly more of a threat than islamic terrorism for years.

Window AC units have gotten pretty robust and remarkably low-power. Friend of mine had to cool his entire house when his main AC unit went out with just a single window unit, and it worked pretty well.

Gotta make sure you insulate the fuck out of your house, though. That's the real secret to minimizing power usage.

The 'women are wonderful' effect in action even when they claim not to be women. Heh.

FtM trannies are probably going to get the biggest helping of regret pie, as they were sold a lie from the start. They had in thier head that the male experience was the 1% apex, being the only sort of men they actually pay attention to.

Then reality came calling, and they got a heavy dose of what men typically experience in thier day to day lives. Which was completely at-odds with what they imagined it was going to be like, because those types of men were completely invisible to them(and likely still are). Hence the screeching. Because no matter what they may claim otherwise, they're still women.

China also has the geographic advantage(mountains, deserts, permafrost) that lends toward isolation, so they lacked any severe outside pressures that, say, Europe had to deal with.

It's no co-incidence that China had it's arrogance kicked in the moment that a powerful navy became the determining factor if you were a world power or no.

She's a black woman - this is pure sour grapes.

Out of all ethnicities on dating sites, black women are consistently rated the lowest.

Plus, if they actually want to get married within their own ethnicity, they have to deal with... black men. So she's fucked from both angles, metaphorically speaking.

So, rather than say 'No one wants to date me(for reasons I'll never admit) and black men are horrible to deal with', she's just being a woman and trying to drag everyone else down with her.

They also don't want to take on the responsibility and management of the trip itself; they want to be taken care of and have everything put on a silver platter for them.

...I'm being a little unfair here, but I admit slight frustration, as my version of 'I like to travel' and women's version of 'I like to travel' are often radically different. My version involves road trips and spending time in national forests where the nearest toilet is several miles away; their version involves fancy resorts and being around way too many people.

The argument in the twitter post is worse than that; They're stating that you should be the slave in order to feed someone else. Under threat of violence.

People keep trying to paint anti-semitism as 'right wing', yet the only sites I've seen going completely apeshit over the mere whisper of any kind of criticism toward the Jews after this entire hamas clusterfuck are... right wing.

It's... certainly been an education, if nothing else.

Yeap. There's another link I had from pew research that I seem to have misplaced that went into all that and more - including the percentage spread of how many people think the population of ethnic minorities are and whatnot - but I can't find it again, and my searching has turned up nothing.

Backups, people. Learn from my mistake and always backup this shit.

Always the same. They have to trot out delusional cope or come up with imaginary sexual fantasies - excuse me, historical fanfiction - to explain away why things were somehow worse back in the 1950s or, well, pick your time period.

I'd say 'spot the NPCs', but, well... gestures vaguely

Lady, either you are a fully functional human being and you have to live with the consequences of your own actions...

...or you're not, in which case, let me go get the leash and collar and beat you until you start behaving properly.

I'm getting to the point where I'm not sure which option women would be happier with, nowadays.

"it's just entertainment"

Propaganda is propaganda, and propaganda works.

"it's just children stories"

Children stories are often lessons encapsulated in entertainment, and offer a foundation for morals and ethics. If you look at Children stories from long ago - Winnie the Pooh, Calvin and Hobbes, Hans Cristen Anderson - the entire point is that they're teaching intrinsic lessons to children by showing them cause and effect, or leaving them with questions that they themselves have to answer. Hence, if you're trying to sell children stories that are wildly at-odds with society, you're attacking the basics of morality and ethics as taught to small children. Stop grooming.

"you're racist"

Don't care.

"why are you triggered"

If it's important enough for you to bring up, it's important enough to push back, otherwise you wouldn't be doing it.

"lol rentfree"

Shut up, Kafka.

I get why the devs don't want you to be able to go through portals with metal and whatnot. Exploration is fun! ...the first time. Anything after that is a bit of a grind.

And, as you say, there are mods for that.

Not gonna lie, sailing around in a wide, vast ocean on a viking longship, discovering new lands and fending off sea serpent attacks is pretty fucking cool. Just... not all the time.

1
Grant_us_eyes 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'm kind of skeptical of that. I think women live in a type of delusional, coddled existence, completely ignorant to honestly serious consequence. And if they were ever in a situation where society was no longer protecting them, they'd likely straighten up and weirdly find themselves happier for it.

...pointless to debate, though. This is one of those situations we'll never really know how it would sort out, unless things get really bad.
