Always the same. They have to trot out delusional cope or come up with imaginary sexual fantasies - excuse me, historical fanfiction - to explain away why things were somehow worse back in the 1950s or, well, pick your time period.

I'd say 'spot the NPCs', but, well... gestures vaguely
