"Doesn't know how to SSH to a host." Jeez, I set up an FTP server on my phone 'cause it's easier to move files with it than a cable.

People really need to figure out technology; the modern trend of child-like interfaces is at least partially to blame.

College is a scam, I've learned more about programming in Space Engineers than I have with a damned software development degree.

Yeah, Gab's been a nice return to normalcy; I can disagree with anyone and not get nuked for it.

There's a ton of crazies on there, but then trolling flat earth videos/posts and proving them wrong is also fun.

Depends on how precise your definition of "sex trafficking" is. If a young girl is taught that's it's empowering and good to sell oneself to strangers her whole life, and starts doing so at legal age; is that sex trafficking or not? It's quite easy to oppose the more obvious unwilling variety, but not the brainwashing variety the internet is deluged with.

Stack Overflow's great if you want to find potential exploits in code. Look for issues in extremely popular questions.

Only lowers gun crimes, increases all other violent crime types. In the US, something like 500k crimes are stopped every year by reported discharge of a legally owned firearm. Eliminate guns, those crimes will no longer be stopped because those guns would become illegal to own and use.

Never has been. Call out the slippery slope, call the first fraudster a fraudster; and you're called insane or a conspiracy theorist. Some majority of people will simply choose to let it all fall apart around them just so they don't feel like they're attacking someone.

Because red flag laws are utterly misrepresented. Taking guns from people with a violent history already is a law on the books, and has been for a century or more.

Red flag laws give states the rights to take guns from people who they think might be dangerous, or are reported to be dangerous.

Roughly 40% of the general population is deficient, making it a smaller gain than you would think to correct that issue. Still a decent reduction of chance if you take care of yourself.

80% of hospitalized cases were obese. Something like 80% of all deaths were above the age of 65. I read a report where a German hospital found 75% of all deaths were low on vitamin D. Keep yourself even reasonably in good shape and this thing's no more dangerous than a minor case of the sniffles.

More like republicans would argue on irrelevancies like how long ago the last safety inspection of the lifeboats were, and if it's recent enough to trust. Libertarians would just lay there on deck smoking weed, and democrats would burn the lifeboats because boats are racist because they transported black people at some point, and blame the republicans for doing it.

I got mine nuked a little while ago for some questionable memes.

I cut the one power lead in the USB cable leading to mine, soldered in a tiny switch on the back of it. Got tired of plugging it in and unplugging it.

Ehh, supreme court was never really a significant option without lower courts confirming fraud and states ignoring it. Especially since the court plays political hammer for the left, but feigns neutrality when it comes to the right. Enough of a mess with lawsuits in the states pushing things to the house delegation was always the most reasonable path to sorting all this crap out. When/if we get people in cuffs for organizing major cross-state fraud, then the supreme court could get involved.

Been OD-ing on Factorio the last nine months or so. Up to 2,150 hours so far.

If you've not seen it, the simplest way I can describe it is if Rube Goldberg invented a tower defense game.

Huh... Wasn't there an event not that long ago where an underage kid got called a white supremacist? Didn't the kid sue and turn into an overnight multi-millionaire?

Can't think of the kids name, hmmmmmmm......

Or setting the shotgun in HL2 to 700 pellets instead of 7.

I'd have done more, but every shot would kill not just everything in front of me in a cone, but the game itself.

I've been having quite a bit of fun in Gunfire Reborn the last few weeks. Super simple graphics, pleasantly colorful roguelite shooter. Simple yet differentiated guns, with enough balance to make most runs come across at least a few exemplary weapons. It's rare to have a complete dud run that ends before the fun starts.

My go-to game for wasting shittons of hours is Guild Wars 2; a somewhat less than standard MMO. Leveling doesn't take forever and zero to max(80) is basically a gigantic tutorial, after which the world opens up entirely. No real gear grind outside cosmetics, and a less strict breakdown between arms of the "trinity" common in MMO. And then there's Canach...

If you want to engage your brain and not stop until you lose the ability to speak, fire up Factorio. Super simple to get started, with a near limitless skill ceiling, this logistics simulator has not only a Turing complete circuit system, but a train network that is ALSO Turing complete. Build a factory to launch rockets, starting with eight iron plates, a coal powered auto-miner, and a hunk of wood. Sounds simple, but when farther research and development exhausts local resources, building the logistics network to bring everything you need back to the factory gets intense if you want it to be fast. Then the pollution hungry aliens get up in your business and eat everything you own if you can't build a defense network to stop them.

Absolutely. There's a reason I haven't strayed from the indie side of things in ages. Get a fun, mechanically sound, not grey/brown/moldy game for $8? Frik yes!
