So this rant is about the mtg proxying community. I know MTG has fallen out of favor here for a long time after Wizards of the Coast went as woke as possible. Still, I like the game and have a good play group that doesnt care about the politics and just like to play. We all pretty much agreed that the best cards are ludicrously expensive and began proxying 50 to 80% of our decks.
Well the best group for proxying is undoubtedly MakePlayingCards. I wont link anything but their reddit was a fantastic community and everyone was excited to just make cards and play the game. It's height was reached when a community member made an amazing tool to create orders of proxies in minutes versus hours. Everyone loved it and it became synonymous with the group.
Welp, that was the straw that broke the camel's back. Within a few months, some twitter "artists" who sold overpriced furry artwork on magic cards decided that this group was cutting into their profits and began messaging the major players of the group that they were going to DMCA the site and inform WOTC of their behavior. One "girl" in particular was already part of the group and led the charge to effectively pull the group apart. It worked. The site went down, reddit died, the survivors moved to discord.
Fast forward to now. The old site has been mirrored. The community is growing again and the same fucking tranny is trying to pull it all down AGAIN. Why the hell did they not ban this asshole? Why do people refuse to call out the blatant bad behavior and narcisissm? What's worse, is that even though most of the group dislikes that one busy body, they still act like you are a nazi for saying we need to ban this meddling discord tranny.
When did it become impolite to call a cigar, a cigar??
rant over
Never has been. Call out the slippery slope, call the first fraudster a fraudster; and you're called insane or a conspiracy theorist. Some majority of people will simply choose to let it all fall apart around them just so they don't feel like they're attacking someone.
