Yuzu shat the bed by putting things behind a Patreon paywall. That's why Nintendo went gunning for them.

If you want Nintendo to come a-knockin', make money off of your piracy.

It pertains to more than race, but it's actually a rising field of medicine to use your DNA to better understand and customize what treatments will work best for you. Drugs that might work well for one person might not work as well as another person, etc.

People REALLY don't like the fact that some people are just bad eggs.

That she's daddy little SS agent doesn't make her abused. You might as well claim Ozai is just a victim of abuse because he grew up in the same way.

It depends on the condition. Like, a guy might have sperm that don't swim but the DNA is fine. Or there could be a lack of chemotaxis due to something going with the sperm or the woman's body, so the sperm will be unable to hone in on the egg's location. There are a variety of ways a couple can have difficulty conceiving that IUI won't be able to help, but IUI is less invasive and less expensive than IVF so it's a good idea for people know their options before resorting to IVF.

IVF is a last resort, not to mention often people have to save up to afford the tens of thousands it can cost, so the demographic is going to naturally swing older. A quick checks say a bit less than half of women are under 35, and about half are 35-40, and rarely are there women past that giving birth.

The actual biological process of fertilizing an egg fails to produce a viable zygote a lot of the time. Fertilization happens but it immediately dies after. You just don't hear about it because there is no external way for a woman to know, but this is what is happening when you have anyone who has been trying to get pregnant for more than a couple months and the man isn't shooting blanks.

At the same time, successfully capturing an oocyte (egg) is difficult and harsh on the woman's body. So to ensure success, they usually harvest multiple eggs at the same time. The eggs get fertilized and they get screened for issues, and implantation involves a couple of the "best" eggs that are most likely to survive, and even then it's common for all but one to fail (even though it's still more common than in nature for multiple to survive, hence why IVF pregnancies have a relatively high rate of twins or more).

So you often end up with extras that are never going to be implanted in a uterus. There are a few choices to deal with them. 1. With parental consent, the fertilized eggs can be harvested as a source for stem cells. 2. The eggs are destroyed. 3. The eggs are permanently frozen.

Not really. They used a small sample size (16 women with GID group, 17 in control group). That roughly 50% of the GID mothers had some psychopathic disorder or depression does not explain what is going on with the other half. And as someone else already said, whether this is some nature vs nurture thing and if women with these disorders are more likely to give birth to mentally ill sons as well.

This is one of those studies that really need follow up studies.

I don't know how you can shame the herbivores for liking anime more than people, it's kind of a definition that they've already crossed the shame rubicon and have given up having a relationship with another human.

The need to adapt videogames into movies is driven by the belief that videogames are not "legitimate". You have to process a videogame into a format the average normie can understand.

This is also why videogames that are the most like movies often get praised the most for being "art" (see: The Last of Us). They've taken the videogame, cut it up into little pieces for you and practically chew it for you to ensure it's the easiest thing to digest.

I suspect after The Last of Us's show success, which itself got heaps of praise for being such a good adaptation when it is arguably one of the easiest things to do, more studios have been prowling around searching for videogame IPs to adapt. Especially with the superhero genre cooling off. Try to make videogame adaptations the hit new thing instead of comic books. On the animation side of things, the Super Mario Bros. movie has definitely got people to line up more animated videogame movies.

Historically there have been cultures that have practiced 'moral' cannibalism in the form of funeral feasts, and relatives eating the body of the deceased was considered the way to honor a person.

However, it does not change the fact that eating a human body is a really easy way to transfer diseases because there is no species barrier. Those funeral feast cultures have faced having to stop due to someone getting sick and dying, and the others getting infected by consuming their body, and the cycle is repeated.

But outside of that, there is just not a need to allow cannibalism. Donating your body to science helps humanity in some way or another. Donating your body to be eaten helps no one but fucked up creeps who want to eat a person.

The character is a shapeshifter. She doesn't actually spout gender identity bullshit, she's just making shapeshifter jokes.

The manga is called Moriarty the Patriot. It's some "askshully what if Moriarty was the good guy" and grafts James Bond fanfiction onto the Sherlock Holmes fanfiction. It pretty much gives no fucks about canon and yes, it's saying the character is trans.

It's such a long list of adaptations bastardizing the character of Irene Adler. She is a woman who gets married to her beloved in the Sherlock Holmes story, and almost every adaptation since has tied to make her a villain or in love with Holmes or both. Godfrey Norton is pretty much forgotten.

However iirc Moriarty the Patriot plays about as fast and loose with the canon material as they do with the English language making word vomit for their J-Pop songs.

Endometriosis can be serious and even damage a woman's reproductive ability. Sadly the only ways to correct it are either hormonal birth control or to have a hysterectomy (which also permanently destroys a woman's reproductive ability). There is also surgery to scoop out the scar tissue that builds up in the abdominal cavity but it doesn't not prevent future scarring and inflammation.

"WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW MORE?" This is a movie made by the same director as Robocop, of course its being tongue in cheek about militarism. I remember the humans are colonizing space but I can't remember if it's stated humans are invading bug territory or if it's the bugs invading humans.

Hard to say. AssCreed doesn't have a super terrible rep. The last game, Mirage, was a resounding "meh" but seemed to be a turn in the right direction from the sprawling, bloated mess that peaked in Valhalla.

Still, the games have completely given up pretending to be historical pieces and you got all sorts of anachronistic goofy shit.

I wouldn't have minded if Yasuke had been a cameo, a samura's servant as he is historically described, but Ubisoft finally makes a feudal Japan AssCreed and they make it start a black dude because Japanese people aren't diverse enough. So they are making their assassin game that used to be about blending in and centering it on the most conspicuous man in all of Japan.

I am hoping this game bombs just because everyone knows that if this game is a financial success Ubisoft will use the profits to pay off the Skull and Bones debt. It's funny as hell that a AA team making Helldivers 2 - and focusing their game on being FUN - has put Skull and Bones completely out of people's minds.

Yeahhh bragging about how food costs 4x less in Russia when you are earning 4x less isn't the "gotcha" about sanctions Tucker thinks it is.

The difference is that Starbucks is legal and you haven't been exposed to 19 years of "don't buy Starbucks, it's illegal and dangerous".

And it's been several years since illegal drugs have been getting cut with fentanyl. People know. This is not surprising. Yet they keep choosing to take this risk.

Druggies only have themselves to blame.

I didn't mean they should make a deconstruction. But Sailor Moon has served as the template for so many OTHER magical girl anime that they should make sure what they are making isn't stale while also taking note what has/has not worked with the genre for other titles.

Oh what, having drug addicts wandering your neighborhood like zombies and taking fat shits outside of your apartment doesn't make you want to live in SanFran? Bigot.

Daucus9 25 points ago +25 / -0

Well, kudos to someone making their own shit and not putting Sailor Moon in blackface.

I saw a small trailer on YT. Magical girls with a roller derby gimmick doesn't seem bad. However, Wheels and Roses has hideous Steven Universe style art.

The criticizer DOES have a point in that magical girl genre has evolved past Sailor Moon 30 years ago and if Sailor Moon is your main/only anime inspiration, their cartoon may seem outdated before it's even begun.

Also it's San Fransisco. A teacher's salary might not be worth it in a city with such a high cost of living, especially if they're new in their career. If they're offering like $65k/year and the average rent costs $40k/year, most people aren't going to be chomping at the bit to move to San Fran and teach math to overcrowded classrooms full of phone-addicted brats. You're much better off teaching at the community college in some Midwestern town.
