I didn't mean they should make a deconstruction. But Sailor Moon has served as the template for so many OTHER magical girl anime that they should make sure what they are making isn't stale while also taking note what has/has not worked with the genre for other titles.

I wasn't saying they should either. Just that Sailor Moon and its template is so old that even its deconstructions are basically ancient and outdated as well.
