The Dems have lost control of the narrative bad on this shutdown and are desperate to try and flip it back in any way they can to be Trump's fault. And its not working well because Trump has a social media team running rampant reaching people, and almost no one is even noticing the shutdown to begin with except people we all want to see suffer (fed employees).
This is their last try, to try and emotionally manipulate people by saying "the poor niggers are starving!" And its still not going to work, because the depths of the abuse of welfare by illegals has become too well known for people not to associate their anger towards them with this as well.
I propose that in order to balance the budget, we only run the government for the proportion of time that can be covered by revenue. Currently that would mean shutting everything down for about 4 months out of the year.
