So there’s been a recent gas scam that I first noticed last year when a Hispanic guy pretended to be a representative of a gas company and showed up at my door. I went through the spiel with him, realized it was a scam then closed the door on him. However the same gas scam showed up at Sam’s club a few month later, where they were doing the exact same thing but now in an actual store with barrier to entry. They disappeared after a few months (probably because Sam’s got complained at enough/ blamed for letting them in) and then they popped up at multiple other stores and disappeared. Now the exact same scam showed up with a chick pitching a tent outside a store complex with a sign saying “Free Gifts” and a smaller sign “if you bring your gas bill”.
This has been the most prescient for just an in person scam, but we have been bombarded post Covid with scam phone calls, scam texts from India pretending to be a toll road, on and on. Am I going crazy or have we officially gone full India in this country where scams don’t get cracked down on anymore?
The chinks have their own scams as well. We're a third world shithole now because we've become the world's trash can.
How many of those 55 million visas are rubber stamped retards? How many of those 40 million illegals are murderers, rapists, homeless, and mentally ill? How many H1Bs are street shitters? To what extent have we allowed the American population to be irrevocably tainted? Are we minus five average IQ from 50 years ago? Minus 10?
Doesn’t matter what they are, all of them need to be deported.
I get a lot of "Saar, you are eligible for medicaid. Give me your deeta". And at work our phone rings, I answer 25% of the time it's some Jeet calling us wanting to scam the business
Phone numbers get recycled, too.
Phone books are no longer here for reasons, the internet has not depended on telephony for decades, and it's too vulnerable to scams, spam, spoofing, centralized surveillance, etc. Will legacy telephony die, or persist as an interoperable standard past my life-time?
The increased spread of the internet has allowed Chinese/Indian scam centers (aka slave camps) to be able to operate in harder and harder to get to places in rural India, Malaysia or Thailand.
While I haven't seen that one, there has been an increase in the last few years of my area of "home improvement" scams. Guys showing up trying to do solar panels, redo your siding, fix your lawn, etc. And not random Mexicans running cash under the table stuff, but two (always two) young white guys going door to door representing decently sized companies.
Now these companies are apparently fly by night Indian owned shells meant to rapidly sell stuff and then disappear within the year, after selling the debt you owe them to someone unrelated and leaving you to foot any maintenance or bad work they did.
Apparently its a huge business to find young white guys from the Southwest (I couldn't tell you why there, but its always there) and fly them all around the country, pay them shockingly high (like 30k for a two month summer gig of this) to sell your scam product before just bailing to repeat it year after year.
And of course they always need your phone number to text you their plan, instead of just telling you as they stand right in front of you. For obvious nefarious purposes.
Solar panels are a scam even if it's from a reputable company. Solar companies go bankrupt with alarming regularity, so good luck trying to get any warranty work done.
That's assuming you buy the panels outright. If you lease, you're objectively wrong.
You are retarded.
over here in eurolandistan i never had a problem with either my dads water-heating solar setup, nor my electrical one.
both self-installed, his together, mine by myself and a friend who is an electritian by trade. then again, that was before all the subsidis were cut and it was still white european businesses producing the panels and electronics.
I think the big problem is so many governments, both federal and state give huge benefits to both the companies and the consumers who use them.
Like, when I was hearing a few of these pitches out (because the idea seemed smart before I knew the scam being played) they were constantly talking about the tax breaks you get and the return money from the electric company you'd earn. And checking it out most of those things were legit, even if the contract with the solar company was designed to cheat you out of it as much as possible.
Point being, like almost any industry where the Government gets involved to subsidize and pay for it becomes a den of nonsense and exploitation. Without that, it might be prohibitively expensive for most people but it would also filter out the scam company, who doesn't have enough suckers available to justify.
There was a user named u/One-Four-Zero, who has since closed his account, that had the one and only solution to this.

Bombing the shit out of the countries where the calls are coming from seems a reasonable response to me. Make the existence of scammers within the country an existential threat to their government.
Those gas/electric scams are pretty much result of your state government deregulating the utilities in the name of providing more choices, those companies replace your gas/electricity company as billers with either suspicious payment structure or being "green energy" while your gas/electricity are still being delivered by the infrastructures of your actual gas/electricity company. They claim they provide alternative sources of energy but obviously they're just another layer of middlemen leeching on the actual utility companies
I got scammed viewing rental properties a while back. Africans had me going into Blackrock houses through the backdoor.
You sound retarded.
I have adopted the policy of never answer the phone, never answer the door, check the mail once a month. Almost every interaction with a human being that I didn't initiate myself is negative.
But then you miss out on the pleasure of occasionally getting to tell people you have every right to disdain to go fuck themselves in the most imaginative way possible.
Same. I get great satisfaction knowing blacks and browns are just scamming each other.
When I moved to Florida, every single house I was going to look at turned out to be a scam. I was lucky if the house existed in the first place. Some had the audacity to send bill collectors after me. I have gone to houses that were rubble and the pictures were from Google maps 10 years ago. I've been to houses that weren't even owned or run by the people. That's if the house existed.
On every street corner is an offering for some deal that is too good to be true. Most of these aren't even coming from the USA.
Where the hell did you search for houses, Craigslist?
Even worse, Florida.
(I'm just kidding, put the crack pipe down guys)
Fake sites based on real sites, posts on legit sites. Imagine seeing the same house in five different posts. They buy legit sounding website names, and copy of info from other sites. Then they post that info to every rental thing you can imagine. You say you're interested in anything, you get sent to their 'official' site.
The level of the con was often staggering.
Seriously. You sound retarded,
I moved 3,000+ miles to place where y'all gators are cute and people order special cakes to celebrate a hurricane. I had no real idea what to check or how to do things. So, yeah, I had to do the dumb stuff to figure things out. The amount of scams is still impressive.
10 years ago I used to get scam texts or calls a couple of times per year, now it’s almost every day. The consequences of allowing a billion subcontinental retards to use the internet.
it should be fully legal to summary execute scammers in public
there is less guilt from scamming people outside your group.
Connecting the 3rd world to the internet was a terrible mistake.
While foreign criminals being scammers is one part of it, it's also an indicator of a bubble, and inability for people to be hired for reliable low wage work. The interconnectivity of the world means that 3rd world scams are showing up, due to their own economic problems too.
Overall, the American Consumer is the most parasitized creature on the planet. It's a wonder that anyone in the world makes anything else considering how much of our own wealth is being stolen from us.
We get that a lot in Canada too.
My guess is that because there's so many, it works.
Sometimes they come around here. I always take a photo of them. They really fucking hate that.
