I play Hunt Showdown at the 5-6 star level (top 2 levels) and let me fucking tell you about cheaters. Non stop cheating scum. Almost every game feels like there's one.
And what's so evil in these hardcore games is that it only takes one shot. And so "cheaters" don't have to be aim botters, or guys with wallhacks to wall bang thru infinite mass.
All these fuckers need is to run cheats that let them see through walls and objects and they have a huge upper hand. All it takes is one headshot with any weapon and it's over. Line it up and take the shot.
Hunt Showdown basically actively encourages it as well. They know they have a huge cheater problem, and the reporting system is trash. The only way to really get someone banned is to record it and go directly to their site, and submit multiple reports over time. Also no kill cams or any way to rewatch the match. Also funny, their "ban waves" usually coincide with when the game is going on sale.
you just can't play at a high level anymore without dealing with hordes of cheaters. if you want to play casually you can still have fun but at the high level it's at the point where there will be a cheater in every game
It's just a microcosm of society. People cheat in real life to get ahead too, and they aren't punished for it, so why would they stop? Of course they'll cheat in video games too.
Even casual Team Fortress 2 sucks because bots are everywhere, and TF2 was the perfect casual FPS.
The basic bot problem is impossible human reaction times. A bot being hard or needing teamwork to beat is one thing, but in these games bots are impossible to beat. Power has to be balanced against reaction time.
Put a one second sniper shot time with laser-in-your-eye graphic on whoever is near the aim and then you've got a chance. When scouts are running around so fast humans can't target them then their weapons should miss most of the time and do less damage.
The games need more rock/paper/scissors strategy and less execution. Like if there's slow respawn time the team that has a medic should have a big advantage. That kind of thing.
Overwatch has a lot of counters and required game knowledge, and it still has cheaters (not as many as CS though). You see cheaters hard stuck in plat because mechanical skill only carries you so far. But if you made the game entirely strategy then people would use a computer to cheat the strategy. People cheat at chess.
It's because barely any game still has dedicated community servers. Skill based matchmaking is cancer. Cheaters can go undetected for months and years at a time because the developer/publisher doesn't give a shit or simply doesn't have enough people to keep the house clean. And the community aspect obviously also suffers greatly.
But CS probably has the absolute worst cheater problem in the entire industry right now. By a large margin. At least amongst the most popular titles. CSGO was already bad and in CS2 it got so much worse that pretty much no one except the most masochistic people play official matchmaking anymore at higher levels.
Cheating is big in CS because it is extremely effective. Hitscan, wall bang, short TTK, and wacky recoil are all easily exploited by cheats. Plus even a small amount of knowledge about enemy location is a devastating advantage. And the round based structure makes losing extremely punishing, so people are driven to cheats. Tarkov is the same way.
Cheating is big in CS because VAC is extremely ineffective and because it is F2P. At higher levels getting a match without at least one cheater in it is less likely than a match with cheaters. Rage hacking is extremely common in CS2.
Back in 2005 I knew people that would sign up to be in the matrix if it was World of Warcraft or their favorite shooter. I guess we are getting closer to that, and the adeptus mechanicus takes another step forward.
The future of e-sports is just going to be dudes electrocuting themselves.
This might entice me to watch.
Shock. Eletrocute means killed by eletricity.
Who says they won't die? Escalation is a motherfucker.
There was a Babylon 5 episode where that happened, except that was in a AR brothel.
If you don't smell like cooking bacon by the end of the match, are you really trying your hardest?
Can we electrocute them through twitch donations?

I gave up on Hunt Showdown a year or so ago myself. So many blatant cheaters, nothing done about them.

Grok what are the cultures where cheating is encouraged?

probably 10-20% of competitive tf2 players are cheating too, but the only league is too busy banning people for nono words to do anything

Tarkov is horrible to play at times.
I mean, this is less of the aimbot that tranny catboy used and more along the lines 'would someone with neurolink have an unfair advantage?'
Granted, it's early days, but if neurolink becomes something like this then maybe we should discuss this..
When I first learned of the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and surety of steel.

So Wired Reflexes? Damn it, if they’re gonna make Shadowrun real when do I get my hands on an Ares Predator and a giant pair of Troll tits?
Imagine not taking the Remington Roomsweeper for a shotgun in pistol form :p
Hope you're packing slugs for anything more threatening than a ganger in a tshirt.
That's what the Vindicator minigun is for.
Actually the Vindicator is for pretty much everything, including the scenery.
Arrest him for violating the National Firearms Act.
This how they'll turn us into 40k servitors.
Just remember that whatever common folk figure out, military probably already had it a decade ago.
This is some cybperpunk level hacking. Now we can install bio augs for aimbotting on FPS games...
Man is half clanker
