Lack of introspection coupled with MASSIVE projection has ruined western fantasy.
The religious order that I hated growing up with HAVE to be evil in this fantasy game I made/stole.
This 'evil' race is just misunderstood like I was growing up...
At least when it comes to anime/manga, this is how it went:
One day, a mangaka made the demons misunderstood good guys, because it's a twist. Pacifist orc chef? What an original idea! We need an institutional enemy that acts inside a kingdom: oh, a church, of course.
Then, these things became tired tropes out of the sheer mediocrity that humanity averages at.

Season 1 is really good. After that it's kind of "up & down" but still good overall.
The key is: Goblins are just plain evil. Period. Thy capture human women, gang rape them as forced breeding stock and kill any human males they come across.
Slayer is just that. He's here to kill goblins, ALL of them. As efficiently as possible, but messy is good too. As long as they're dead.

See, how this wiki usually works, the individual entries have a separate image from every single edition of D&D, but for "Human" there are only entries for the 3rd and 4th editions and they are pics of an asian and a black woman. It's like Humans weren't a part of D&D before then.

You mean to tell me that people would ACTUALLY enter into a religious organization, rise through the ranks, make it to the top, purely so they gain wealth and power and dictate people's lives through their religious beliefs? No one would ever do that in the real world. I mean, you'd never hear any real life story of a religious leader convincing all his followers to kill themselves, or a religious leader convincing his followers to go on a murderous rampage for 1400 years. (Obvious sarcasm)

Did I say that all (or even the majority) of religious people were power hungry tyrants? No. I stated a fact that power hungry people, sociopaths, and even psychopaths will use religion to gain money, power, and influence. You obviously lack reading comprehension as my original comment was clearly conveying (as my next comment elucidated) the FACT that people will abuse other's religious beliefs for their own person gain to which I gave 2 very real and very lethal examples. And the memes point (which I was criticizing) was "how dare they say that religious leaders can be evil and self-serving!". And I don't need an "out", you responded to my comment saying "NOT ALL RELIGIOUS PEOPLE!!!!" and my second comment pointed out the irony (or rather hypocrisy) that when it comes to religion this site screams "NOT ALL RELIGIOUS PEOPLE!!!" but when it comes to race and nationality they're perfectly willing to paint with a more broad brush. The idea that that is, in some way, a prepared "out" when it was a deliberate reply to your specific comment shows that you lack logical thinking.

Jonestown was literally founded as a place to live their perfect Communist utopia. A bunch of shit happened, and Jim Jones's enforcers ended up killing a congressman. Welp, Jim knew that that meant the USG was going to come absolutely fucking end them, so he gathered everyone together and busted out the Flavor-Ade.
The audio is like 10% religious and 90% him lamenting the failure of their communist dream. His #2 was some nigress and she talks about the horrors of 'racism' and 'capitalism' and that they all need to die to prove some kind of point.
And the first two barely count. Not sure why Aimee Semple is even on this list unless you are seriously intent on twisting the intent of the comic/llirrem's statement. And Elizabeth Clare Prophet was fairly harmless, just a moonbat who made people dig holes for an apocalypse that didn't happen.
All in all the point is that these kinds of people are ridiculously rare compared to how Le Enlightened Atheists like to pretend they are. Because guess what, it turns out getting a bunch of lunatics to go along with another lunatic is actually extremely hard to pull off which is why most lunatics are lone-wolf operatives.

Right: Semple and Prophet were in it for the money and/or the power trip. They didn't mean harm to their followers, and kept it "in the family" in terms of control.
Pol Pot pounded (literally, physically) his belief system into his followers, and then into the helpless citizens of Cambodia. It was as close to "true communism" we've seen thus far, I think :/
