You know, I am getting a bit depressed due to the nonstop barrage of stories like this. I'm bummed because there is no possible way we will have another President this fucking awesome for the rest of my life.

I hope Vance can prove me wrong.

Are we already tired of winning? Fuck no! We barely got out of the gate! Don’t think that far into the future. Imagine what he will do in a year.

Hypotheticals:

Trump will rename Israel New Texas and start a financial blitzkreig into the Middle East.

After two years, we will rename the Earth The UPA (United Planet of America.)

The issue is the nature of executive orders means that unless these get passed in congress and the like, this will only last 4 years, and that is something to cause concern. Don't let premature celebrate lead to ignoring pressing issues like ensuring this lasts beyond just Donald.

At this point, one or two more confirmation hearings are going to mean several Dim Senators come down with cases of the dead, either from aneurysms or heart attacks.

Possibly the cases they come down are all federal cases, for fraud, embezzlement, child sexual trafficking, and non disclosure of being an agent of a foreign nation.

There will be some quiet self-deletions, but one can only hope for such happy occurrences.

I hope for self-deletions. Depressingly, they’ll just retire and disappear in Martha’s Pedo-Ranch.

Which is probably why Trump is doing it now and have Congress allies submit bills for it before 2026 midterms. It puts Republicans in line, get people’s butts cooking to vote (since midterms have always had lower turnout), and a massive weapon against Democrats.

Even if the inevitable legislation follow-up falls through, 4 years of these parasites being unemployable is a loud message about how to behave in the future. Most of the fed drones are entirely self-serving rather than true believers, they talked the talk because it played well and got them cushy benefits. Now they got burned and know they're playing with fire.

Or it could just spur on more spiteful behaviour under the idea that they need to get as much done in the 4 years they have.

You're assuming the lesson will be taken as "we need to behave ourselves or this could happen again" and not "This could happen again, we need to push harder than ever before".

▲ 1 ▼
– BandageBandolier 1 point 1 year ago +1 / -0

Yeah, that'd be the true believer response. I just think most of the deep state actors are probably dirty rats rather than zealots. The zealots flock to the NGOs more.

I'd agree in business where profit is the general motive, but in government/state "services" I'm more inclined to lean on the desire for power and control rather than immediate gain.

Think about the kind of person that becomes a school teacher, ESPECIALLY the types that we see all over social media pushing agendas that they absolutely go out of their way to do. Their purpose in life is advocacy, not just to have a job. They're absolutely zealots. The teachers of our childhood are absolutely gone. The teachers that are interested in teaching are a loooong forgotten minority in the system.

Ah I'm seeing these cuts as working from the top down, cutting out the DoE for example won't disenfranchise a single teacher, just a bunch of politically ambitious bureaucrats that hand teachers absurd procedures to follow if they want that sweet fed funding.

Yeah the ones who stay as lower level gov. employees are more like zealots, but the higher up the bureaucracy you go, the more likely zealots are to be supplanted by people for whom personal power was the primary goal rather than an afterthought. They'll speak like zealots to control the zealots below them, but they'll flip flop for any bigger threat to their position.

In part, he's so awesome because of the people around him who are executing these things. I had hoped that he had learned from his do-nothing first term where he was cut off at the knee at every turn, and he's exceeded my expectations.

But in terms of whether anyone can exceed him, probably not. There is just so much debris and rot to clean up right now: the number of low-hanging fruits are immense. That will likely not be true for future presidents.

This is all fake hype..an EO can't close the entire department, and whatever is done can be undone just as easily.

It's a cabinet level agency, which irrc are created to advise the President.

I think by the letter of the law, he can close it, but in practice? Let's just say I'm skeptical.

All federal departments and agencies can be forced by the executive to follow the legislation they were created under.

No more expansion of mission and interference in issues or areas not called for in their charters.

If , like DEI bullshit is part of what they are currently implementing and requesting funding for, all of it can be eliminated as none of it is within their purview, both the money and the people gone.

See what was instantly done at the DoD, State, HHS, and USDOT. No more faggotry. No more Marxism. No more anti-Whiteism. No more discrimination against males.

All of it social engineering outside the agency's charters.

These changes can be made permanent throughout every agency, department , and bureau of the federal government through legislation. The administration is aware of how things work and what Congress now needs to do in order to make it all stick.

I'm sure there are bills on deck waiting to be put forward soon to do so.

I seldom agree with theaustrianpainter, but he's right here. Maybe a Supreme Court ruling allowing impoundment would allow this, but even there it's questionable whether you can get rid of a department (rather than gut it) without a change in law.

Your kids shouldn't be in government schools in the first place. If you want to pass on your history, traditions, and culture, homeschooling is the only way.

The DOE was started by Carter to make a “federal education” standard and federal funding for schools. The entire concept has been an unmitigated disaster and has seen several revisions (no child left behind, “common core”) that have left children actually dumber than their previous generations. The DOE on a federal level has also allowed large scale teacher unions to dictate public education policy which is why we have the most bloated school administration system in the world. This is all aside from the point the DOE is a blatant violation of the 10th amendment.

You heartless fascist. The 10th is superseded by Article I, Section 8, the "Good and Plenty" clause! Like Arnold Swarzenigger said, EVERYTHING MUST BE PROVIDED FOR THE PEOPLE.

My mom was a teacher during no child left behind. We lived in a small town that was 99% white, so there were no minority groups to classify as being left behind. So they decided that the group that wouldn't be left behind would be the special ed class. That's right, they set the goal that literal medically classified retards should perform the same as everyone else. Needless to say, they did not reach their goals.

They do the same in Québec. Shove retarded / black / brown kids into normal class, disrupting / slowing down the whole class. Lots of teachers end-up quitting or looking for a job in less shittified areas.

English Canada as well.

The sperg kids are literally & individually bringing any public school elementary teaching to a screeching halt.

Which is either a travesty or a miracle depending on your perspective.

I remember ?George W.'s "No Child Left Behind"

So I'm assuming that part of the issues is the feds overstepping their jurisdiction into a State level area in public education?

Education is a provincial jurisdiction here.

The feds are more involved in universities due to gatekeeping and corrupting research grants, but technically colleges are still provincial jurisdictions as well.

▲ 15 ▼
– Ahaus667 [S] 15 points 1 year ago +15 / -0

It’s far worse than overstepping. They have essentially made a bureaucracy out of education where the administration is over 700% larger than 30 years ago. Policies forced down like “common core” which forced schools to buy “guided education curriculum books” or lose federal funding. Other fun federal education policies include the gun free zones that have led to more school shooters, catch and release student suspensions which is why Trayvon martin happened and multiple school shootings. The hiding of school active threats and sexual misconduct from parents. The propagation of LGBTQ and sexually explicit books/comics being available for elementary and middle school students. The list is endless.

I assume you're looking for a user by the name of ELI5, if you want to send a notification, just type it like so: u/ELI5 .

as to you're question, DoE is short for Department of Education, and it's a federal agency that was officially set up to assist states in improving education and to disperse federal funds for same, but it's long been a way for the federal government to bypass the tenth amendment regarding education.

Basically, it acts like a big piggybank for state education funding, but only if they adopt the policies the federal government wants.

that's about as simple as I can put it, maybe the user you asked can elaborate further.

'ELI5' means "explain like I'm 5" and is used by those wanting simple explanations for things that you would give to a 5 year old.

This is a good opportunity to remind federal employees who were doing useless, subversive or disruptive ''jobs'' :

Plenty of positions opened in restaurents, farms, cleaning, drug trafic and drug dealing, child traficking, landscaping, etc, and that contrary to what your leftist teachers told you, are honest honorable jobs.
