People who hate you are your enemies. Enemies will lie and pretend to be neutral or friendly until they feel they no longer have to. Enemies who haven't been discovered will manipulate you to get you to go against your own interests under many pretexts like "being reasonable" or "compassion".
If you really are a good person one of the hardest things, when you first become aware, is dealing with the uncertainty that comes from judging someone to be your enemy when she hasn't overtly given indications of it. Then acting on that judgement despite knowing there is a chance your judgement could be incorrect.
Life gets much easier when you develop more solid heuristics for sorting people into friend-enemy categories and treating them accordingly. As an example anyone who says "diversity" with a positive connotation is your enemy if you are a White Male. Same with "inclusion" if you are a Christian.

I love the blizzard spider graphs because it shows that they have all the races and sexualities ranked in order. They also put low cognitive ability as more diverse, so being a literal drooling retard is just as "diverse" as being black or gay. I'd love to see the source code of that page.

There is a saturday morning cartoon level of plot in overwatch where some characters are "good" because they wear white and blue and some are "evil" because they wear black and purple. There's probably some that change color when you dunk them in hot water.

I remember encountering one of these creature son the KIA reddit sub claiming that consumers totes want less sexy female characters according to marketing research, then out the other side of his mouth he mentioned that gacha games still have plenty of sexy female characters and I mocked him for the fact that gacha games are way more profitable than AAA titles. Also wasn't in the mood to do research so I just mocked the fields of marketing and advertising as being comprised of professional bullshitters who are more interested in justifying their salary to out of touch boomer execs who can be swindled into thinking these guys actually make them money, than in actually making the company money.
Reminds me of how much if not most of the data from big tech platforms is junk because of the prevalence of bots, and it's only a matter of time until the corporate world finally figures this out and stops pouring money into these companies, at which point there will be a big tech crash. It's already happening, albeit slowly, as old habits die hard. And Musk was one of the first people to get ahead of the curve on this, by turning twatter into a subscription service with a pool of verified users whose marketing data is actually legit, although the porn bots have made twatter a pain in the ass to use as of late.

There are a few ways to possibly download a .png or .jpg instead of .webp.
If you use wget or curl (the latter of which is included in recent versions of Windows) it should download the specified file. On many sites adding a parameter to the URL (even just a ? at the end) will cause them to deliver the image in the original format instead of webp.
If you set your user agent to a browser too old to accept webp that may also work depending on the site. And then there are extensions for rejecting webp, but that introduces a whole new layer of trusting the author.
All of this assumes that the image doesn’t exist only in webp format originally, but that’s rare at this point.

The most surprising part is that they even bothered to lie with data. It's a cult, you don't need data. It's a truism to them that 'diversity is our strength,' I'm surprised they felt the need to sell anyone on 'people want this, look at this data.'
After all, diversity is just good. That's unquestionable to their ilk. So, obviously, putting more diversity into a game is good. Furthermore, the whole deal with ESG is you're not selling to your customers anymore, you're selling to the big investment companies instead. So, if you're going to make a compelling financial argument for including diversity, it's as simple as 'Blackrock will give you $X! You'll even personally gain $Y if you're deemed Inclusive enough!'
So, yeah, not sure why they even felt the need for a fake study.

That's a misunderstanding of what Social Justice/Progressivism/Wokeness is.
Studies are sacred. It's liturgy. Like scripture, it must be interpreted by holy persons only. These are the credentialed experts. Only those anointed by the holy seminary of university may produce the studies which contain truth.
The ritual of the Study is important. It lends weight to the mysticism. It's why Christianity lost some prestige when the priests stopped speaking in Latin. The language itself provided that air of majesty. Just reading the plain old bible is lame. Likewise, no one believes a person who just says things, but interpreting a study is magic.

You're forgetting that most people go along with whatever the prevailing opinions of their tribe happens to be. This includes the vast majority of artistic types who, despite being stereotyped as freethinkers, are anything but. And if they do have any dissenting thoughts, they keep it to themselves, and the weak-minded among them will even gaslight themselves into thinking that they changed their minds organically.
Solitary confinement will make almost anyone go insane, and in an extremely repressive political environment, the part of your brain that's capable of independent thought will be isolated from engagement with your peers, and many people will simply break down and delude themselves into thinking they conformed out of a sincere change of opinion rather than coercion. Plus, no one wants to believe that their in-group are actually the side of evil, and since game devs tend to be weird nerds (not that there's anything wrong with that!), in an industry that's extremely demanding, their workplace becomes a surrogate family.
Remember, plenty of Germans went from being committed Nazis ready to lay down their lives for the Reich to becoming either diehard communists or liberals, depending on whether the Americans/Brits or Soviets happens to be the ones "liberating" them. Many former Gestapo agents even went on to become Stasi agents. Brainwashing works, "re-education" works, most people just aren't cut out to be political thinkers.
Knowing a couple people in the industry I can confirm that there are true believers among the rank and file of the industry.
I saw a similar statistic the other day, 1 in 4 people are disabled. Anything past 1 in 2000 should be questionable and looked into, so I did. They were including things like glasses, or allergies.
Same with Autism. They specifically asked a group that would have a high autistic percentage like engineers. What's the difference between autism and an engineer? The degree. Then they expanded the definition to the point of ridiculousness. Do you have a shopping list? Autism.
At no point do we have good things like a really good memory, or being ambidextrous. If it's 1 in 4 autism, then it should also be 1 in 4 gifted of a similar fashion. We don't even know what to call it. If it even gets noticed, they add it to the autism definition.

On that note, the scientific community has been this way for a LONG time now. It used to be a pretty reliable system of peer reviewed study I guess, but I’ve had research papers I’ve spent thousands of grant money on to conduct just to be told that the data didn’t meet their expectations and that they will be discontinuing the study. And my trials were just pretty standard pharmaceutical trials, I can’t imagine how bad it is behind the scenes for stuff like transitioning hormones and Covid studies. Normies don’t realize that there’s zero punishment to selling out and manipulating data on a professional study. It’s all been bought out by big companies that have the cash to back these studies and no law to my knowledge actually punishes lying to the general populace with fake data.

I'm not terribly surprised that the kind of dishonest research methods used in the social "sciences" and think-tanks have trickled down to marketing research firms that are contracted by companies to give them consumer data, since the kind of people staffing these companies came from the social "sciences" and work in said think-tanks etc.
But I do have to wonder, is providing a company with dishonest marketing research a breach of fiduciary responsibility? If I was an investor in a company that was making decisions based on dishonest research by a contractor, I'd wanna sue their asses. So I wonder if there's money to be made in working as essentially an auditor for these slimy marketing research firms.
I know that in the real sciences there's a growing trend among experienced researchers to audit studies in order to weed out junk research, since the journals themselves are too corrupt or indifferent to do their damn jobs, but these guys aren't getting rewarded for it, they're just genuinely fed up with the prevalence of junk research in their fields.
However, the possibility of suing a company for providing dishonest research, or suing a company for contracting with a company that does dishonest research, raises a possibility in this regard.
The corporate world already has math nerds in the form of accountants and actuaries, who they go to when they need real research and analysis done, rather than the kind of professional bullshitting that's always run rampant in marketing and advertising departments. So an enterprising law firm could potentially hire some of these math nerds to shred junk research and then offer investors an opportunity for a law suit.
The question you have to ask is who would even do this?
Imagine something you don't care about at all but is popular. Country music, Scrapbooking, Craft Beers, etc. Imagine setting up a company as a consultant for this thing you are disinterested in, and cooking up fake studies saying it needs to change to adopt your personal worldview. Imagine training and coaching staff to adopt your beliefs. Imagine thinking you are a good person and improving the world for this.
What an absolute psychopath. If the world ever regains it senses, everyone who works for one of these firms will be drawn and quartered, and that's the moderate compromise.

As I've said before, Advertising is almost entirely manipulated by 5 "holding" companies that determine almost all ad revenue in the world. They have final say in what goes through all commercials you will ever see, including most of what goes on the internet. These institutions and everyone in them are your direct and immediate enemy, even more than the banking industry and military-industrial complex. These guys are far more zealous than the latter.

Discovering how they lie is important though, since although we know they lie, not everyone does. Exposing these frauds is how you take them down, simply knowing that they're evil does nothing.
