This is after the families of the Sandy Hook shooting victims rejected a settlement of $55 million over 10 years that would have seen Jones able to retain control of his assets and earn income to pay off the debt.

...While Chapter 11 protections could have led to a larger payment to the families of the victims, they feared it would allow Jones to continue broadcasting to his fans....likely leave the families with less than $4 million between them after legal bills are paid.

These normal people turning down $50+ million totally prove just how Wrong and Bad Alex Jones is. These are clearly not crisis actors, and are exactly who they appear to be. How could Alex Jones have done this to them?!

...he was ordered to pay almost $1.5 billion to the families of victims of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. The victim’s families had sued Jones for defamation after he had claimed the massacre that left 26 people dead was a hoax.

The whole thing would be a joke, if it weren't so evil.

I'm rooting for AJ to give them nothing. An untimely fire and boating accident doing away with his possessions. Move to Brazil or something and start a new studio. They are trying to make sure he has nothing, so give them nothing in return.

In what legal sense are those people even entitled to that money? Jones causes zero damage saying what he said, it’s not like he said the kids didn’t die or something, and everything about Sandy Hook is pretty much settled at this point. Does this just open up the door for more petty lawsuits?

Absolutely legal because anything the courts approve becomes that.

Just? Absolutely not, but that horse is now glue and tar.

I think its because he "defamed" them by claiming they were crisis actors and faked everything. Which could be considered extremely damaging to them socially and their credibility, if not drive them out of their communities at the worst.

That law is working pretty much exactly as it should in terms of them claiming it. The injustice is how he was railroaded hard without much ability to defend himself really (if he could present any evidence at all, no matter how dumb, to show why he thought that they should have no real case) and then a massively oversized payment at the end just to punish him for existing.

I think they are overplaying it massively just to make the case seem more legitimate, but after something like MeToo I think we can all see how these laws were meant to be used to protect us from someone ruining our life over random accusations.

Didn't his dipshit attorney accidentally send the defense attorney the ENTIRE contents of Jones' phone text records? Sounds like Jones had the opportunity to defend himself, but not the ability to do so in a way that would make him less fucked.

and then a massively oversized payment at the end just to punish him for existing.

Probably to prevent him from just using his business to continue to defame them.

In any sane world Jones would win the appeal, especially in Texas. That said, it will cost him $50 million to get there and he may not win.

Alex Jones can be both a conspiracy theorist no one listens too and a guy who's opinion of certain people caused a billion dollars of damage to their reputation.

They said plain as day this was political lawfare to shut him down.

Alex Jones has been a joke for as long as I can remember so who did he actually piss off? This only makes me convinced Sandy Hook was a hoax.

In any case, there's no point in saying how unfair it is. Fight back or shut up.

Except they're not dying on it, they're winning on it.

The left does whatever works. The right says "we can't use weapons against our enemies, that would be wrong."

This is why people around here mocking the left with "no bad tactics, only bad targets" baffles me. I just don't understand that at all. The only bad tactics are ones that don't work, like taking the high road. Censorship, violence, propaganda, they are all just tools. Use them when there is a correct target.

People still have this idea of a karmic universe where if you take the high road then the universe itself will reward you for it and vice versa for those who took the low. Which is a pretty natural belief and pounded in by most religions on top of it.

But we don't live in one of those universes, not anymore. Yet its a hard mindset to break because of how deeply ingrained it is.

This is an example of how the new, younger, unbelieving conservative right are sadly following after Babylon the harlet and Satan just like the left. This generation wants to start adopting leftist's "might makes right" tactics with no regard for what's true, what's right, only with what works in this world system.

It's sad to see.

And here's the thing, even if there was no God and morality didn't matter, only results through human effort, this would be doomed to failure anyways.

The time to start behaving like the left in order to gain the power of the left was decades ago while people were unaware, snatching up all the systems of power, education, entertainment, government, etc. That ship has sailed..Once that was accomplished forget about it. Our role is to suffer persecution and follow the lamb. If you want to have Satanic levels of control and power, then you either need a time machine to convince the right 50 or 60 years ago (at least) to act like the left is going to, or just go ahead and jump ship and become a leftist. Just stop being a conservative. If power is what you want, the left will happily welcome you into their fold if you tow their line.

The version of conservatives that abandon all Biblical principles in favor of moral relativism and evil tactics doesn't look much different than the leftists, so I don't know what they think they will accomplish. It's very short sighted to say the least. Do they think that the power crazed immoral conservatives that would succeed at beating the left at the their own game would suddenly become moral and create a moral society like what we had in the past the second they get in power?

And if I had a 100% guarantee that it would succeed, I wouldn't advocate it because it's wrong.

King David had an easy shot at getting at Saul, who God told David, that David would be king. All he had to do was kill Saul and he had won. Heck, God told David that he's the rightful king. What did David do? Did he do the easy tactic? All his peers were encouraging him to. No. He knew that God would rather he do what's right and he trusted God and he saved Saul's life allowing himself to continue to be pursued and persecuted. Shadraq, Mishaq and Abindigo had no promise that they wouldn't be killed by the furnace. They said, if God wants us to die, we'll die, but if he wants to preserve our life, then we will survive. They didn't worry about tactics. They worried about truth and righteousness.

All of this essay only matters if there exists only two options. Which is full evil or full "righteousness" with 100% commitment to either and every single tactic and option having been assigned to one or the other.

Apparently we can only let legions of children be molested and castrated, because to do things like "apply social pressures" and "directly protest the institutions" is just 'adopting the Left's tactics' and thereby bad. No in between options can exist, only 100% its bad. Just sit and make the decision that everyone must suffer because to act is bad and makes us just as bad as our enemies.

There exists more than just the two polar extremes, and to constantly push this false dichotomy is more evil than any of those "unbelieving conservatives" will ever reach.

– StaticNoise2 4 points 2 years ago +4 / -0

That's a complete straw-man of what I advocated for. If all the left did was apply social pressures and directly protest institutions, we wouldn't be having this conversation. The left lie, cheat and steal and even resort to murder if they have to. They don't care about right or wrong, they don't care about truth. They act in complete accordance to ways of Satan. Applying social pressure, such as what Christians WERE doing back in the days when they were active in the culture, like when they'd protest Marilyn Manson concerts, or directly protest institutions are not at all a wrong thing to do.

I'm talking about the actual left's tactics.

It's convenient to say that Kavanaugh is a rapist so we'll say he's a rapist.

The right is doing the same thing with no regard for truth. It's convenient to say that Tom Hanks and all Hollywood people are pedophiles so we'll say they're pedophiles....evidence? pff, you're thinking like a conservative. We don't like him. It benefits us to say it, and therefore he is. Guilty until proven innocent if the target is someone we don't like. "What is truth?" as pontius pilate asked Jesus (Who IS the truth, the way and the life)

It's a nice principle. We don't want to live in a society of cutthroats. People need the fear of God or some higher power. But people also need to understand there's a time for peace and a time for war, and we can't have the former without the latter.

Sandy Hook plays a central role in the gun grabbing religion. The Christian equivalent of denying Sandy Hook is denying the Resurrection, but unlike with Christianity blasphemy laws against leftism are vigorously enforced. These evil families have done more to convince me that the whole thing is a hoax more than anything Alex Jones or his guests have.

Jones has been more right than he has been wrong. More to the point, when he is wrong he is usually exploring a line of thought out loud on air.

With the Sandy Hook thing he was exploring the idea that it might be a hoax. On air, he reviewed the facts at his disposal and concluded that it wasn't a hoax, but opportunists were making the most of it to push their agenda.

Which was exactly what was happening. Jones never named any particular people as crisis actors; he spent vastly more time talking about the genuine tragedy.

If you are so fucking sure that he has smooth-brain takes, name a few. Was it the Gay Frogs? Or what?

In your post you come across as a massive, authoritarian faggot. You are happy to use the weight of law and the men with guns that it commands to silence people you don't like; just as long as it is the right people. I guess you see yourself as the person in charge?
