"In spades" is now a slur.

I know "spade" by itself is a somewhat obscure racial slur, but "in spades" has a completely separate meaning and they know it.
you don't hate journalists enough.
After years of arduous training... Nope, still not enough
It's insane when you thought you got to the point of maximum hate and here we are...
I wish I could stretch my mind out into a timeline video that showed each moment I thought my hatred had peaked.
I still remember the first day..
"With his sister. Calling for peace"
It's incredible how they manage to dig ever deeper.
It's funny cuz one time I was like "call a spade a spade" and someone was like "das racist, don't say it out loud." And I was like "CALL A SPADE A SPADE" to the whole restaurant.
So I dunno what the racial slur is, but that is my people's saying, and they can't have it.
We must assist the urinalists. We must dredge up all of the obscure slurs, and use them, all the time. We must not call them niggers, but call them abids (Arabic for slaves), alligator bait, apes, bamboulas, banaans, black bucks, Bounty Bars, Buckwheats, burr heads, coons, cotton pickers, crows, darkies, dinges, eight balls, festival children (Soviet slang), golliwogs, groids, heiguis, houtkops, jigaboos, jungle bunnies, kaffirs, kalars, kuronbōs, kamdungis, Mau-Maus, Moon crickets, munts, niglets, nig-nogs, Sambos, Sheboons, shines, sooties, spooks, thicklips, or toads.
You missed Hottentots, but that is a surprisingly comprehensive list, haven't heard jungle bunny in about 40 years
I haven't heard Hottentot in... decades. Forgot about it!
Shovels are racist.
ya dig?
What? I've never heard in spades or even spades in relation to blacks? Have they ninja edited the definition again?
Yeah I've never heard of such a thing either.
Yesterday 1% of the population knew a spade was a jogger, now most know.
They just keep digging up old outdated slurs and renewing them while creating more with their censorship.
Their source is fucking urban dictionary, which is somehow more made up than Wikipedia
I know spade can be used as a racial slur but "in spades" has never had a racial overtone.
Yeah, I think it just refers to the amount that a spade can hold. Something something "in spades". It's a measurement.
urbandictionary said it was more common around the time of the Civil War. I can't imagine how anybody today knows about it, unless they're just collecting every racial slur ever.
I'd link the urbandictionary, but that was literally the only useful information in it.
Why bother trying to appease blacks?
Well shit. I guess I'll have to say, "in niggers" going forward.
It's all they want to hear anyways, so why not?
Nigger-rigged, nigger-lipped, nigger-beater. Yeah I got a lot of phrases.
A spade is not a spade it seems.
I doubt "Droves" would have been any better.
I guess common parlance trumped sentiment (Again).
It'd be less awful if it was even common, it's obscure parlance that makes their pretense of "misunderstanding" absurd.
Would be nice if they were half as passionate about policing the blatant anti-white bigotry being freely spouted all over the media and academia
Not quite related but I just want to bitch. I’m a certified public accountant (CPA). I work in auditing. There was a very common term in this field “segregation of duties.” It meant that you couldn’t have one person doing everything and needed to split up responsibility for, say, ordering inventory, receiving inventory, and counting inventory, so that way there’d be checks and balances in the organization. It seems that because “segregation” existed and offends people, the field has moved to using “separation of duties” even though “segregation of duties” was never about racism. Since it shared it word, it became guilty by association. Here’s the thing: “separation” and “segregation” are NOT the exact same word. Segregation means separating into independent functional groups (remember “separate but equal?”). So when you segregated duties it was among roughly comparable positions (managers, supervisors, etc.). You didn’t just grab the janitor and tell him “hey, now you have to do account reconciliations.” But hey, anything to not appear racist to people too stupid to know that words have meanings, right?
They switched gears back to "muh racism" real quick after they realized the guilty verdict blew up in their face.
When did screenshotting tweets from random people become journalism?
These idiots probably consider that to be "researching" their article. The "article" being just a short synopsis of what the 30 tweets they're going to link say. Stop it, please.
Sadder is that "in spades" in this case is that instead of 90% voting Democrat it will be 89%
Gotta be happy all that pandering produced a one percent increase.
Changing definitions is textbook propaganda.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll use it more often.
This is because the ‘kink’ way to refer to a coalburner (I actually don’t know where this one came from)/snowbunny is a “Queen of Spades”
Well, then what the fuck shall I call my favourite gardening hand tool?
A hoe? 🤔
So.. queen of spades, a term for coal burners, is now a slur? Haha
They must be so worried about the black vote to go to this level of crazy.
Lavell Crawford Trump is a REAL NI**A before the cases and convictions.
At this point I really believe blacks vote democrat because if they vote for anybody else their vote still is counted as a D anyway.
I had never seen that. Funny shit.
A spade is a digging instrument used in the garden. Anything can be a spade if you have to dig. Hence 'call a spade a spade'
If you want to jump in some mental gymnastics and claim that soil is black, I can counter with spades were typically made from cast iron for durability, and that is also black.
Soon : ''must change the default card game name of spade or you're a heckin' istophobe''.
