New supercut just dropped. Hollywood people -- including two VPs -- complaining that they have been out of work, losing their homes, living on credit, etc. (twitter.com)

Yeah, and looks like they're all white as well. They should be happy they're out of work so some Strong, Diverse, Disabled Person of Color can be in their position.

The amount of people that i've come across that do not save ANYTHING just confuses the shit out of me. Those same people often complain about money issues as well.

I've become someone who never believes 99% of the complaints of the people around me when it comes to money problems. I've watched their spending habits and if it isn't all garbage like beer & weed, it's stupid crap to stick on their shelves, or overly expensive restaurants & bars "for the experience."

They are all grasshoppers reveling in the summer sun, with nary a thought of the inevitable winter on its way. That first chill wind blows through and suddenly they demand everyone else take care of them.

I had a guy at work once actually tell others that they shouldn't be saving or trying to get more money. This is a man who is at retirement age who's working not because he needs to (because he saved and is well off) but to keep himself busy. And while I don't have a problem with him still working, I do have an issue with someone who is well off giving others the worst advice possible.

This is also a man that routinely spouts "you pay peanuts, you get monkeys", because that's what happens at this business. But yeah, you shouldn't save, just spend it all on instant gratification.

And they wonder why they're middle age being a mindless labourer working for bare fucking minimum when they're given this advice by someone who appears to have their own shit together. And I admit, I truly don't know if this man is a blithering idiot that got lucky in his own life with a decent amount of charisma, or if he's actually malicious.

To be fair, if you just 'save money' nowadays, it will be 25% gone within 5 years, if you're lucky. Much better idea to invest it.

Honestly, it's the same thing. The point is to plan to have some kind of value or worth down the track, and the people that Chillin is referring to is the people that spend all their paycheck and leave little to nothing for savings. All because instant gratification is more addictive.

Hollywood. Have you tried doubling down on the message? Maybe people need to hear it just a bit more often and loudly?

Please double down!

What's that empathetic response they used with coal miners and farmers? Oh yeah I remember.........Learn to Code.

The way so many people think work exists as an entitlement is just bizarre.

Labor theory of value. They are happy to put in 40 hours a week so long as they are being paid to do exactly what they want to do. The concept of doing what someone else wants them to do - a “job” - is completely foreign to them.

"I'm a former executive producer..."

"...casting producer..."

"...TV post producer..."

"...former VP of production..."

Do you want me to play violin music while you all blow your noses into your hundred dollar bills?

Wonder what these fucktards were saying to everyone losing their income due to the lockdowns? Or their spending power due to Bidenflation? How about to those who lost their livelihoods because their homes, stores, and vehicles were robbed, looted, and burned during the Fentanyl Floyd riots? Were they beseaching the more fortunate to give them help and support in whatever ways they could? Or were they telling them all to shut up and stop acting like entitled right-wing Nazis while singing how much better things would be if they didn't own any possessions?

Sucks to suck I guess. I hope pushing the message over chasing profit was worth it. Hopefully the rest of Hollywood will be joining them soon. Skid row has plenty of room for all of them.

What's the explanation, though? What's happening in Hollywoke?

Big wind down on content production. Netflix., Apple, et al. let loose so much cash for so long that the industry turned to glut.

It doesn’t help that most of what it produced is woke garbage that no one wants to watch.
