But still the solution is not more trees - we need authoritarian control to fix it.

They're so used to getting their Revealed Truth handed down to them by the institutional media that they will literally believe that what they're being told now is the same thing they were being told ten years ago. They trust the "experts" to be their long-term memory for them.
They also have the perfect excuse: "That just means our green policies are working!" If you pry them for details, they'll just tell you to Google it because they can't be bothered to defend their point...or they'll just ban you.
That happens any time the models don't match reality. One of the massive regenerative farms in my area had to do an "impact study" for General Mills when the company wanted to sell their products. Study found that the farm was sequestering 3-3.5 pounds of CO2 per pound of meat produced. General Mills trimmed their offer down... and invested in fake meat.
The new line is : unless we can stop co2 production then you will have to be invaded by millions of africans fleeing 1’C warming over the next 2000 years.
So, the models were wrong, but for sure all of our assumptions/projections made to create the models were correct, except for exactly one. And the solutions we've surmised based on the incorrect models are still absolutely correct and essential to humanity's prolonged survival.

Climate change/global warming is a scam. Its the greatest one yet as unlike covid or terrorism or war, it will take a century to "happen" and be shown for the con it was all along. And the con artists of today will be long dead, having enjoyed the wealth and influence the grift gave them, repercussion free!

Even if it does, it might be a wise investment to buy future farmland in the Arctic Circle.
I predict the globe will warm sufficiently to usher in a new green revolution, some time after insane fags like those morons in England (I forget what they call themselves, dressed in antique nurse outfits or something) manage to have everyone on the dole and locked in their flats to cook prepackaged gruel on hot-plates, except when allowed out within a 1-mile perimeter.
The only thing I would really care about is scorpions and snakes creeping up north with the warmer winters. NYC can go underwater. It would be funny watching them try to build levees.

There are a lot of people in their early twenties who are just becoming politically aware who didn't experience the goalposts moving 45 times.
That's part of the reason the extinction rebellion people are all so young.
