Americans are too jaded for a 9/11 to work anymore, if a similar attack happened, the right would fallback to rural towns and villages, erect a wall around it with the words 'FUCK OFF WE AREN'T FIGHTING FOR YOU FUCKERS ANYMORE!'
The left are even worse, they're in a constant civil war currently since it turns out, they're actually all different and hate each other. At this point Israel would probably NOT want to further involve them and settle for checks and an aircraft carrier force nearby than risk getting involved in the current American societal mess..

I'm at a 10,000 chickens vs. 1 T-Rex level of curiosity about how an American city would react to a ground invasion from any hostile force. If China pushed into LA or San Francisco would the residents actually resist, given their pro-Commie proclivities? They would rebuff Russia almost certainly, but do they have the armaments or discipline to really do so, even on home turf? I would truly love to see Antifa try to take on real live genuine soldiers. Palestine already seems to have quite a foothold, so even some ME force would be at an advantage.

This is why you need to use archives. Inspect element means I could make a screenshot of a tweet saying just about anything I could imagine. I could fake a tweet of Bush saying he paid the Saudis to do 9/11 or Obama claiming he got a divorce because Big Mike was too much man for him to handle.
About 1/3rd of the country would respond to another 9/11 with "lmfao cool" at this point. We're never going to have a moment of national unity like the one Bush turned into the Patriot Act and the Iraq War again.
