Reminds me of this thread on Resetera a month or so ago, where the OP and a small number of other leftists were trying to guilt and gaslight people into favoring apartment and urbanized living over suburban homes.
A good 90% of the people replying pointed out all of the EXTREMELY valid reasons for why they would prefer sticking with owning a home and the OP continued being a dismissive and blasé cunt.
For context, this is the thread. I only ever check Resetera (once a week at most) to see what kind of idiocy leftists are clambering about. And to laugh at the general stupidity.
>be me, bank
>dipshit in White House forces me to charge higher interest on wypipo with good credit
>they're outraged
>said wypipo keep their money in savings, where I have to pay them interest instead of the other way around
>meanwhile, Tyrone defaults on his loan for the third time
>wypipo save up enough to pay for their entire house in cash
>they demand their cash via wire
>tell them we don't have that much in the vault due to 0% reserve policy
>more outrage
>news gets out
>bank runs
>Tyrone defaults a fourth time
>try to sell my shitty 0% treasury bonds to shore up cash
>FDIC forces me to shut down
>Federal Reserve makes money printer goes brrrrr to save me
>finally out of FDIC conservatorship
>keep a shitload of cash reserves to prevent another run
>a whole lot of cash doing nothing
>go out of business because I have no cash flow
>Tyrone forecloses on his house a fifth time
Except everyone is taking money out now. There is a credit and crunch right now. Asset and collateral panic is starting by July/Aug you will see the economy start to unravel.
Ha, nope. Huge corporations are sacrificing billions on their ill-conceived appeals to troons and not one of them has turned around. Even AB put out a release that refused to admit they fucked up.
They're terrified of their progressive employees leaving en masse if they fail to toe the current line. So instead, the productive employees check out and leave over time, and their problem gets worse, along with their products.
It's less dramatic, but this WILL bring about their downfall.
We really need to start going hard on a parallel economy and start Credit Unions that don't use Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Your mortgage will be "backed" by your neighbors.
Cultural differences aside (home ownership is even more cultish here), I didn’t realize how much people who own homes/have a mortgage look down on those who don’t, until recently…
I have (supposed) friends who repeatedly do this, buying and selling around the place (because realistically the only affordable places are regional shitholes, but at least they are property owners now, right??), family who literally think that choosing to have a million-dollar mortgage, for a house in the middle of nowhere, with a ridiculous commute to their job, makes them “superior” to those of us who cannot do that…
Or then there’s my grandmother, who literally referred to one of her own daughters (not my mother) as a “failure” for living in a rental, and not home-owning…
This whole thing is a fucking cult, regardless of country…
So yeah, this policy is fucking insane, but so is our entire “attitude” towards home ownership/mortgage-slavery, where $1 million-plus mortgages even in/near shit cities is somehow considered an acceptable outcome…
This shit kills me, and yet even the people I grew up with who claimed to be “alternative” are right up in all this shit, now that we’ve hit our late twenties.
“Get degree, get second degree [ideally], get married, have kid, buy house.”
So punish people who work hard and save for a house?
That’s kind of the Democrat MO

There's no "saving for a house" in the current clown show of a market bubble.
That’s true. And that NYT article saying inflation is good is the epitome of a clown show
It's only good for the government, who has first dibs to buy anything with freshly-printed paper before anyone realizes what's happening.
And the people who own the money printers, who get a crack at spending even before the government.
Aka punish white people and enable blacks who still can't afford a home because they're retarded.
Yes.
And bugs

Tyrone living his best life.
You should find a reason to stop lending to Tyrone. Throw the data in some AI black box until he gets rejected!

I actually think Australia made it near illegal to pay for things such as housing and cars using cash…
This taking care of some of your points.
They’ve thought of this, unfortunately…
Literally what already happens under Obamacare with the healthy being forced to subsidize people who are fat or smoke.
Ideological liberalism means communism, which means dragging down people who make good choices to lift up people who make bad choices.
Except the people who make bad choices aren't lifted up.
White guilt has to run out eventually right?
Ha, nope. Huge corporations are sacrificing billions on their ill-conceived appeals to troons and not one of them has turned around. Even AB put out a release that refused to admit they fucked up.
We keep hoping they go broke, and stop, but instead they seem to be drilling for hell.

No resource is limitless.
But much like a gold mine, it will be mined out until it is fully destroyed and the landscape around it made toxic and barren.
If whites aren't making the decisions then this is irrelevant.
So no one can afford a home, and thus the pods become more real. Great.
It's fine. The mortgage industry is already dead. This will only centralize it further by killing off any idiots that depend on the program.

Nice if you can get it.
Your grandmother sounds like a winner.
It's not a cult. It's just good advice: grow up, prove you're responsible enough to take care of your own goddamn place, and buy a home.
Unfortunately, idiotic (or, more probably, diabolical) moves like these have made it extremely difficult for some people to get started.
Channeling Canadian Dick-tater I see.
Loans mean interest. Interest is usury. Usury is evil.
funny you still trust the courts
what makes it illegal?
It is the same kind of social cost amortization already in place for SS and DACA, and those have stood legal challenges so far.
Why? It's not anymore illegal then shit that's already been done
